Production of PU foams

Process for producing PU foams by reacting at least one polyol component with at least one isocyanate component in the presence of one or more catalysts that catalyse the isocyanate-polyol and/or isocyanate-water reactions and/or isocyanate trimerization, and optionally one or more chemical or physical blowing agents, with use of SiOC-bonded polyether siloxanes having branching in the siloxane moiety, prepared from branched siloxanes bearing acetoxy groups, wherein a sufficient amount of the SiOC-bonded polyether siloxane having branching in the siloxane moiety is added that the proportion by mass of this polyether siloxane (e) based on the finished PU foam is from 0.0001% to 10% by weight.

Flexible foams

The present invention relates to a composition for preparing flexible foams and the application thereof. The composition comprises the following components: a. an isocyanate mixture comprising: a1) an aliphatic and/or alicyclic isocyanate monomer, and a2) an aliphatic and/or alicyclic; isocyanate trimer, wherein the mass ratio of said monomer to said trimer is in a range of 3:1-200:1; b. a polymer polyol mixture comprising: b1) a first polyether polyol having a number average molecular weight of not less than 3000 g/mol with an ethylene oxide content of 5-20 wt. %, b2) a second polyether polyol having a number average molecular weight of not less than 3000 g/mol with an ethylene oxide content of more than 60 wt. %, wherein the mass ratio of said first polyether polyol to said second polyether polyol is in a range of 4:1-100:1; c. an isocyanate-reactive group comprising compound having a number average molecular weight of 32-400 g/mol; d. a catalyst; e. a foaming agent; and f. optionally, an additive; wherein said composition has an isocyanate index of 70-120.

MOISTURE CURABLE ADHESIVE COMPOSITIONS

An adhesive composition for use in flooring applications that includes a moisture curable polymer system; a calcium carbonate filler system having a first spheroidal particle of calcium carbonate having an equivalent spherical mean diameter of 70 nanometer (nm) to 15 micrometer (μm) and a second spheroidal particle of calcium carbonate having an equivalent spherical mean diameter of greater than 15 μm to 200 μm; a seed oil based fatty acid ester; and a silane based adhesion promoter. The adhesive composition provides low viscosity along with high shear resistance, which helps to retain the troweled ridges to enable maximum coverage.

Porous polyurethane polishing pad and preparation method thereof

Embodiments relate to a porous polyurethane polishing pad for use in a chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) process of semiconductors and a process for producing the same. In the porous polyurethane polishing pad, it is possible to control the size and distribution of pores, whereby the polishing performance (i.e., polishing rate) of the polishing pad can be adjusted, by way of employing thermally expanded microcapsules as a solid phase foaming agent and an inert gas as a gas phase foaming agent.

A purpose of the present invention is to provide a urethane composition which does not require use of a lead-based curing catalyst, exhibits excellent curability and workability, and can be advantageously used in a variety of applications, such as adhesives, coating materials, sealing materials, waterproofing materials, floor materials, wall materials and paints.

The present invention provides a urethane composition which contains an active hydrogen-containing organic compound (A), a polyisocyanate (B), a curing catalyst (C), and an aromatic compound (D). The active hydrogen-containing organic compound (A) contains a polyol. The aromatic compound (D) has a structure represented by Chemical Formula (1).

Disclosed is a method of bonding two or more substrates together comprising contacting two or more substrates together with a composition disclosed herein disposed along at least a portion of the area wherein the substrates are in contact. At least one of the substrates may be window glass. One of the other substrates may be a building or a vehicle.

Process for producing elastomers

The present invention describes a process for producing an elastomer, preferably a polyurethane-containing elastomer, by reacting a polyol component (A) comprising at least one polyether carbonate polyol (A-1) containing carbon-carbon double bonds with a component (B) which is reactive with OH groups and contains at least one compound reactive toward OH groups, preferably an isocyanate component (B-1) containing NCO groups, in the presence of a free-radical initiator (C), preferably at least one peroxide (C-1), and optionally a catalyst (D), where the molar ratio of the OH-reactive groups of component (B) reactive with groups, to the OH groups of the polyol component (A) containing carbon-carbon double bonds, is greater than 1.0. It further relates to elastomers obtainable by such a process, preferably polyurethane elastomers, the use thereof, and two-component systems for production of elastomers, preferably polyurethane elastomers.

A thermoplastic polyurethane is the reaction product of a polybutadiene diol, a polyester diol, and a isocyanate component. The polybutadiene diol has a weight average molecular weight (M.sub.w) of from 200 to 20,000 g/mol. The polyester diol has a melting point of from 40 to 90° C. The reactants allow the thermoplastic polyurethane itself to have a melt flow index measured at 120° C. and 22.6 kg of from 0.1 to 200 grams, per 10 minutes as measured according to ASTM 1238. The thermoplastic polyurethane also has a melting point of from 50 to 300° C. The thermoplastic polyurethane is used to form a composite article.

A polyurethane resin is a reaction product of a polyisocyanate component containing a bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane with a macropolyol component having a number average molecular weight of above 400 and 5000 or less. The shore A hardness thereof is 80 or less, a temperature at which a storage elastic modulus E′ thereof shows 1×10.sup.6 Pa is 200° C. or more, and a ratio (E′.sub.150/E′.sub.50) of a storage elastic modulus E′.sub.150 at 150° C. with respect to a storage elastic modulus E′.sub.50 at 50° C. is 0.1 or more and 1.4 or less.
