An additive formulation for lignocellulosic composites comprising a) a first aqueous emulsion comprising i) a component selected from the group consisting of petroleum wax, a triglyceride, and combinations thereof; and ii) a first anionic emulsifier; and b) a second aqueous emulsion comprising: i) a reaction product of I) a derivative of a polyol selected from the group consisting of saccharides, sugar alcohols, sugar acids, gluconic acids, and gluconic acid lactones; and II) a polyisocyanate; and ii) an emulsifier selected from the group consisting of a second anionic emulsifier, a non-ionic emulsifier, and mixtures thereof, is disclosed.

POLYAMIDE FOAMS WHICH INHIBIT THE SPREAD OF FIRES FOR FILLING CAVITIES IN MINING

Polyamide foams which inhibit the spread of fires for filling cavities in mining Polyamide foams which do not propagate fire are obtained by mixing (i) a liquid isocyanate component which comprises at least one polyisocyanate and in which the molar ratio of aromatic isocyanate groups to the sum of aromatic and aliphatic isocyanate groups is at least 60 mol %, with (ii) at least one liquid isocyanate-reactive component which comprises a reactive diluent, and the reactive diluent comprises (a) a chain-extending and/or crosslinking reactive diluent selected from among aliphatic branched C.sub.24-66-polycarboxylic acids, alicyclic C.sub.24-66-polycarboxylic acids and partial esters of polycarboxylic acids having at least two unesterified carboxyl groups and/or (b) a chain-terminating reactive diluent selected from among aliphatic branched C.sub.24-66-monocarboxylic acids, alicyclic C.sub.24-66-monocarboxylic acids and partial esters of polycarboxylic acids having one unesterified carboxyl group, and (iii) optionally a solid isocyanate-reactive component, where the liquid isocyanate-reactive component and/or the solid isocyanate-reactive component comprises an aromatic C.sub.8-18-polycarboxylic acid and/or an anhydride thereof. Reactive diluents are dimeric fatty acids or trimeric fatty acids, which are optionally hydrogenated. The foams are suitable for filling cavities in mining, tunnel construction, civil engineering or in oil and gas recovery, as fire protection foam, thermal insulation or acoustic damping.

SULFONATED FLUORINATED, NON-FLUORINATED OR PARTIALLY FLUORINATED URETHANES

The invention relates to a compound prepared by (i) reacting (a) at least one compound selected from diisocyanate, polyisocyanate, or mixture thereof; (b) at least one isocyanate-reactive compound selected from a fluorinated alcohol; a cyclic or acyclic sugar alcohol which is substituted with at least one R.sup.1, C(O)R.sup.1, (CH.sub.2CH.sub.2O).sub.n(CH(CH.sub.3)CH.sub.2O).sub.mR.sup.2, (CH.sub.2CH.sub.2O).sub.n(CH(CH.sub.3)CH.sub.2O).sub.mC(0)R.sup.1, or mixtures thereof; or mixtures of a fluorinated alcohol and a substituted cyclic or acyclic sugar alcohol; and (c) at least one isocyanate-reactive ethylenically unsaturated compound; wherein each n is independently 0 to 20; each m is independently 0 to 20; m+n is greater than 0; each R.sup.1 is independently a linear or branched alkyl group having 5 to 29 carbons optionally comprising at least 1 unsaturated bond; each R.sup.2 is independently H, or a linear or branched alkyl group having 6 to 30 carbons optionally comprising at least 1 unsaturated bond, or mixtures thereof; and (ii) reacting the reaction product of step (i) with a bisulfate source.

Sulfonated fluorinated, non-fluorinated or partially fluorinated urethanes

The invention relates to a compound prepared by (i) reacting (a) at least one compound selected from diisocyanate, polyisocyanate, or mixture thereof; (b) at least one isocyanate-reactive compound selected from a fluorinated alcohol; a cyclic or acyclic sugar alcohol which is substituted with at least one R.sup.1, C(O)R.sup.1, (CH.sub.2CH.sub.2O).sub.n(CH(CH.sub.3)CH.sub.2O).sub.mR.sup.2, (CH.sub.2CH.sub.2O).sub.n(CH(CH.sub.3)CH.sub.2O).sub.mC(O)R.sup.1, or mixtures thereof; or mixtures of a fluorinated alcohol and a substituted cyclic or acyclic sugar alcohol; and (c) at least one isocyanate-reactive ethylenically unsaturated compound; wherein each n is independently 0 to 20; each m is independently 0 to 20; m+n is greater than 0; each R.sup.1 is independently a linear or branched alkyl group having 5 to 29 carbons optionally comprising at least 1 unsaturated bond; each R.sup.2 is independently H, or a linear or branched alkyl group having 6 to 30 carbons optionally comprising at least 1 unsaturated bond, or mixtures thereof; and (ii) reacting the reaction product of step (i) with a bisulfate source.

AQUEOUS POLYMER COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING POLYURETHANE (METH)ACRYLATES

Aqueous polymer compositions and their use as coatings are disclosed. A composition includes at least one polyurethane (meth)acrylate A and at least one compound B having a molecular weight of below 1000 g/mol and having at least two ethylenically unsaturated double bonds per molecule. The polyurethane (meth)acrylates A include the following components: component A1 includes at least one polyisocyanate A1a and at least one diisocyanate A1b; component A2 includes at least one compound having at least one ethylenically unsaturated double bond, and at least one functional group F; component A3 includes at least one neutral polyol including at least one aliphatic, polymeric polyol A3a and at least one low molecular weight diol A3b; component A4 includes at least one compound having at least one ionic or ionizable group I and at least one functional group F; and component A5 includes at least one poly-C.sub.2-C.sub.3 alkylene ether.

POLYURETHANE GELS

The present invention relates to gel compositions comprising a polyurethane elastomer. The polyurethane elastomer is formed from the reaction of a polyol, a polyisocyanate, and a polyurethane reaction catalyst in the presence of a topically acceptable carrier fluid. In some embodiments, the gel composition comprises a personal active ingredient or a healthcare active ingredient, which may be incorporated into the gel composition via a pre-load method or a post-load method. Also provided herein are gel pastes and topical formulations containing the polyurethane elastomers, and methods of making the same.

A polymer modified titanium dioxide pigment and a method of forming a pigmented paint formulation are also provided.
