Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed towards formulated polyol compositions that include a sucrose propoxylated polyol, a polyether triol, and a propoxylated homopolymer triol.

POLYURETHANE FOAMS WITH IMPROVED ACOUSTIC PROPERTIES

The invention relates in a first aspect to a process for producing a polyurethane foam, comprising the reaction of (a) an isocyanate composition comprising at least one polyisocyanate based on diphenylmethane diisocyanate; (b) a polyol mixture, wherein the polyol mixture comprises (b1) 50% to 85% by weight of at least one polyether polyol having a hydroxyl value in the range from 10 to 60 mg KOH/g, an OH functionality of more than 2, and an ethylene oxide proportion in the range from 50% to 100% by weight based on the alkylene oxide content of the at least one polyether polyol, and (b2) 15% to 50% by weight of at least one polyether polyol having a hydroxyl value in the range from 10 to 100 mg KOH/g, an OH functionality of more than 2, an ethylene oxide proportion in the range from 2% to 30% by weight based on the alkylene oxide content of the at least one polyether polyol, and a proportion of primary OH groups of 40 to 100% based on the total number of OH groups in the at least one polyether polyol, in each case based on the total amount by weight of constituents (b1) and (b2), which adds up to 100% by weight, and (b3) 0 to 20 further parts by weight of an optionally derivatized filler, based on 100 parts by weight of components (b1) and (b2), optionally present as a constituent of a graft polyol based on one or more of components (b1) and (b2); (c) a blowing agent composition comprising water; wherein the reaction employs the blowing agent composition (c) in a weight-based ratio of the weight of blowing agent composition (c) to the total weight of all isocyanate-reactive compounds used in the reaction in the range from 1:14 to 1:6; wherein a polyurethane foam having a foam density, determined according to DIN EN ISO 845 (October 2009), of not more than 25 kg/m.sup.3 and a compression hardness, determined at 40% compression in the first compression in accordance with DIN EN ISO 3386-1 (October 2015), in the range from 10 to 80 kPa is obtained.

In a second aspect, the invention relates to a polyurethane foam obtained or obtainable by the process of the first aspect.

A third aspect of the invention relates to the use of a polyurethane foam according to the second aspect as a sound absorption material.

According to a fourth aspect, the invention relates to a sound absorption material comprising a polyurethane foam according to the second aspect, preferably consisting of a polyurethane foam according to the second aspect.

A fifth aspect of the invention relates to the use of a polyol mixture (b) comprising (b1), (b2), and (b3) as defined in the first aspect, for producing a polyurethane foam.

Production of PU foams

Process for producing PU foams by reacting at least one polyol component with at least one isocyanate component in the presence of one or more catalysts that catalyse the isocyanate-polyol and/or isocyanate-water reactions and/or isocyanate trimerization, and optionally one or more chemical or physical blowing agents, with use of SiOC-bonded polyether siloxanes having branching in the siloxane moiety, prepared from branched siloxanes bearing acetoxy groups, wherein a sufficient amount of the SiOC-bonded polyether siloxane having branching in the siloxane moiety is added that the proportion by mass of this polyether siloxane (e) based on the finished PU foam is from 0.0001% to 10% by weight.

Flexible foams

The present invention relates to a composition for preparing flexible foams and the application thereof. The composition comprises the following components: a. an isocyanate mixture comprising: a1) an aliphatic and/or alicyclic isocyanate monomer, and a2) an aliphatic and/or alicyclic; isocyanate trimer, wherein the mass ratio of said monomer to said trimer is in a range of 3:1-200:1; b. a polymer polyol mixture comprising: b1) a first polyether polyol having a number average molecular weight of not less than 3000 g/mol with an ethylene oxide content of 5-20 wt. %, b2) a second polyether polyol having a number average molecular weight of not less than 3000 g/mol with an ethylene oxide content of more than 60 wt. %, wherein the mass ratio of said first polyether polyol to said second polyether polyol is in a range of 4:1-100:1; c. an isocyanate-reactive group comprising compound having a number average molecular weight of 32-400 g/mol; d. a catalyst; e. a foaming agent; and f. optionally, an additive; wherein said composition has an isocyanate index of 70-120.

Polyol premixes, thermally insulating rigid polyurethane foams and methods for their production

Polyol premixes and thermally insulating rigid polyurethane foams, such as those that can be used as a thermal insulation medium in the construction of refrigerated storage devices, are disclosed. A polymer polyol having a OH number of greater than 260 mg KOH/g is utilized. The resulting polyurethane foams can exhibit improved thermal insulation properties without sacrificing other important physical and processing properties.

A composition for preparing a foamed polyurethane article is disclosed. The composition comprises (1) an isocyanate-reactive component and (2) an isocyanate component. The (1) isocyanate-reactive component comprises (A) an organopolysiloxane having an average of at least two carbinol functional groups per molecule and (B) a polyol. The (A) organopolysiloxane is present in an amount of from > 10 to < 99 wt.% based on the combined weight of the (A) organopolysiloxane and the (B) polyol. The (2) isocyanate component comprises (C) a polyisocyanate. The composition further comprises (D) a blowing agent, and (E) a catalyst. A foamed polyurethane article comprising the reaction product of the composition is also disclosed, along with use of the foamed polyurethane article.

The invention relates to a polyurethane composition for preparing composites, a polyurethane composite obtained by the preparation and a method for preparing the polyurethane composite. The polyurethane composition comprises: a) an isocyanate component; b) an isocyanate-reactive component; c) a radical reaction initiator and d) an organometallic catalyst; wherein the hydroxyl value of the component b) isocyanate-reactive component is 200 mgKOH/g to 700 mgKOH/g, and the molar ratio of isocyanate groups to hydroxyl groups of the composition is 0.6 to 1.5. The polyurethane composition of the present invention has the advantages of long pot life and simple operation process. The polyurethane composite comprising the polyurethane resin matrix prepared by the polyurethane composition of the present invention has both excellent weather resistance and mechanical strength.
