The composition is in the form of a filament and includes: a) a metal and/or ceramic powder: b) an organic binding phase including two parts: b1) at least one thermoplastic compound selected from thermoplastic polymers and waxes; and b2) at least one volatile organic compound which has a vapor pressure at 50° C., ranging from more than 0 bar to 0.05 bar, wherein the amount of the at least one volatile organic compound ranges from more than 0.5% to 40% (v/v) by volume relative to the total volume of the composition.
ULTRA-HIGH TEMPERATURE CARBIDE FOAMS AND METHODS OF FABRICATING THE SAME
Ultra-high temperature carbide (UHTC) foams and methods of fabricating and using the same are provided. The UHTC foams are produced in a three-step process, including UHTC slurry preparation, freeze-drying, and spark plasma sintering (SPS). The fabrication methods allow for the production of any kind of single- or multi-component UHTC foam, while also providing flexibility in the shape and size of the UHTC foams to produce near-net-shape components.
Powder material for producing three-dimensional object, kit for producing three-dimensional object, and three-dimensional object producing method and apparatus
Provided is a powder material for producing a three-dimensional object including: a base material; a resin; and resin particles, wherein an amount W (mass %) of carbon remaining in the powder material after heating in a vacuum of 10.sup.−2 Pa or lower at 450 degrees C. for 2 hours satisfies the following formula: W (mass %)<0.9/M, where M represents the specific gravity of the base material.
MOLDING COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THREE-DIMENSIONAL SHAPED OBJECT
A molding composition contains a powder, a wax, an adhesive component, a molding component, and a plasticizer, in which a melt flow rate of the adhesive component at 190° C. is 200 g/10 min or more, and a density of the plasticizer is 1.0 g/cm.sup.3 or less.
Extruded Ceramic Nanofibers and Derived Materials
The present invention relates to gels and processes for making bundles of aligned ceramic nanofibers, ceramic nanostructures made by such processes, and methods of using such ceramic nanostructures. Such process is templated via block copolymer self-assembly but does not require any post processing thermal and/or solvent annealing steps. As a result, such process is significantly more efficient and scalable than other processes that are templated via block copolymer self-assembly. The resulting fibers are aligned according to the direction of deposition, making steps where individual fibers are bundled unnecessary.

An assembly for densification under load along at least one direction of compression. The assembly includes: at least one volume to be densified having a powdery and/or porous composition and having variations in thickness along the direction of compression; and at least one counter-form of a powdery and/or porous composition, having at least one face facing at least one portion of the volume. The face and each of the portions are separated by at least one deformable interface layer.
Components with environmental barrier coatings having improved surface roughness
Components having an environmental barrier coating and a sintered layer overlying the environmental barrier coating, the sintered layer defining an outer surface having a lower surface roughness than the environmental barrier coating. The sintered layer is formed from a slurry applied to and then sintered on the environmental barrier coating. The sintered layer comprises a primary material, at least one sintering aid dissolved in the primary material, and optionally a secondary material. The sintering aid contains at least one doping composition. The primary material is a rare earth disilicate or a rare earth monosilicate and is doped with the doping composition so as to be either a doped rare earth disilicate or a doped rare earth monosilicate. The optional secondary material is a reaction product of the primary material and any of the sintering aid not dissolved in the primary material.
Method for producing a component from ceramic materials
The invention relates to a method for producing a component from ceramic materials in which a plurality of layers are applied to a base body by means of screen printing or template printing, said layers being formed from a ceramic material, in each case in a defined geometry above one another in the form of a paste or suspension in which powdery ceramic material and at least one binder are included. At least one region is formed here within at least one layer having a defined thickness and geometry composed of a further material that can be removed in a thermal treatment and that is likewise applied in the form of a paste or suspension by means of screen printing or template printing. Electrically functional structures composed of an electrically conductive or semiconductive material are applied to and/or formed on and/or in at least of the ceramic layers prior to the application of a further ceramic layer. The layer structure is then sintered in a thermal heat treatment, with the further material being removed and at least one hollow space being formed with defined dimensions of width, length, and height.
