Blocked isocyanate, coating composition, adhesive composition, and article
The blocked isocyanate is a blocked isocyanate containing a latent isocyanate group, which is an isocyanate group blocked with a blocking agent, wherein the blocked isocyanate includes a first latent isocyanate group that is an isocyanate group blocked with a first blocking agent and a second latent isocyanate group that is an isocyanate group blocked with a second blocking agent; and the first blocking agent is represented by general formula (1) below, and has a higher catalysis activity that activates the isocyanate group than that of the second blocking agent. ##STR00001##

METHOD FOR APPLYING A MATERIAL CONTAINING A MELTABLE POLYMER WITH BLOCKED NCO GROUPS
A method of applying a material comprising a fusible polymer comprises the step of: applying a filament of the at least partly molten material comprising a fusible polymer from a discharge opening of a discharge element to a first substrate.
The fusible polymer has the following properties: a melting point (DSC, differential scanning calorimetry; 2nd heating at heating rate 5° C./min) within a range from ≥35° C. to ≤150° C.; a glass transition temperature (DMA, dynamic-mechanical analysis to DIN EN ISO 6721-1:2011) within a range from ≥−70° C. to ≤110° C.;
wherein the filament, during the application process, has an application temperature of ≥100° C. above the melting point of the fusible polymer for ≤20 minutes.
There are furthermore blocked NCO groups present in the material comprising the fusible polymer.
Anti-smudge and Anti-graffiti Compositions
Polyurethane-based and epoxy-based coating compositions are described that provide coatings and adhesives that are clear, amphiphobic and durable. Both water and hexadecane readily slide off these surfaces without leaving a residue. Coatings with thicknesses ranging from about 10 nm to about 10 μm exhibited excellent transmittance properties. Such films exhibited durability against abrasion, ink-resistance, anti-graffiti, anti-fingerprint, and strong adhesion to glass surfaces. The coatings are applicable to electronic devices, fabrics, glass, etc. to prepare optically clear, stain-resistant, and smudge-resistant surfaces.
Electrodeposition coating composition and electrodeposition coating method
It is an object of the present invention is to provide an electrodeposition coating composition and an electrodeposition coating method that enable the formation of a cured electrodeposition coating film that develops excellent throwing power and exhibits a good appearance. An electrodeposition coating composition of the present invention comprising: at least one compound (A) selected from the group consisting of a zinc compound (A-1) and a bismuth compound (A-2); an aminated resin (B); and a curing agent (C), wherein a milligram equivalent (MEQ (A)) of an acid per 100 g of a resin solid content in the composition is 27 or more; a coulombic efficiency of the composition is 30 mg/C or less; a film resistance of a 15-μm-thick uncured electrodeposition coating film formed using the composition is 400 kΩ.Math.cm.sup.2 or more; and a coating film viscosity of an electrodeposition coating film obtained from the composition is 3000 Pa.Math.s or less at 50° C.
AQUEOUS COATING COMPOSITION FOR SIDE SEAM STRIP OR SIDE SEAM COATING ON THREE-PIECE CAN
An aqueous coating composition includes: i) an aqueous dispersion of a hydroxyl functional acrylic polymer; ii) a urethane component; iii) a hydroxyl reactive crosslinking agent different from component ii); and iv) an aqueous liquid carrier. The coating composition has a volatile organic (VOC) content of less than 420 g/L, and may be applied to a side seam strip or a side seam of a three-piece can.

Hybrid polyester-fluorocarbon powder coating composition and a method for coating a substrate with such composition
The present invention provides a hybrid polyester-fluorocarbon powder coating composition which is a dry blend of a polyester powder coating composition A and a fluorocarbon powder coating composition B, wherein: polyester powder coating composition A comprises a first polyester polymer and a curing agent for the first polyester polymer; and fluorocarbon powder coating composition B comprises a fluorocarbon polymer, a curing agent for the fluorocarbon polymer, and a second polyester polymer and a curing agent for the second polyester polymer; wherein the weight ratio of polyester powder coating composition A and fluorocarbon powder coating composition B is in the range of from 25:75 to 75:25, wherein the first polyester polymer is a carboxyl functional polymer having an acid value in the range from 18 to 70 mg KOH/g polymer and wherein the second polyester polymer is a hydroxyl functional polyester polymer having a hydroxyl value in the range of from 70 to 350 mg KOH/g polymer. The invention further provides to a method for coating a substrate with such hybrid polyester-fluorocarbon powder coating composition.
