A moisture-curable hot-melt adhesive composition is disclosed. This moisture-curable hot-melt adhesive composition contains: a urethane prepolymer including a polymer chain, which includes a structural unit derived from a polyol and a structural unit derived from a polyisocyanate, and having two or more isocyanate groups; and a modified urethane prepolymer including a polymer chain, which includes a structural unit derived from a polyol and a structural unit derived from a polyisocyanate, and having one or more isocyanate groups modified with a castor oil monool.

The present invention relates to a thermosetting composition characterized in that it contains (A) a polyester resin of number average molecular weight 1,000-10,000, hydroxyl value 5-200 mg KOH/g and, (B) 0.5-2.0 equivalents relative to the hydroxyl groups of the aforesaid component (A) of a compound (B) which is a blocked aliphatic isocyanate compound having reactivity with the hydroxyl groups of component (A), wherein the blocking is with methyl ethyl ketoxime and/or ε-caprolactam, (C) 0.05-5 parts by weight of a bismuth compound, per 100 parts by weight of total resin solids of component (A) and component (B), and (D) 0.5-50 parts by weight of an organosilicate represented by the following general formula (I) and/or a condensation product thereof, relative to 100 parts by weight of total resin solids of component (A) and component (B) wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 in the formula each mean hydrogen atom or 1-10 carbon organic group, and can be the same or different, n is 1. By using the thermosetting, not only does stain resistance appear a short time after painting, but also excellent stain resistance is maintained for a long period, which fulfil the paint film performance requirements for painted steel sheet such as water resistance and bending workability and which have high environmental protection qualities and safety. ##STR00001##

CORROSION-RESISTANT COATING COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING CORROSION-RESISTANT COATING FILM

The present invention is directed to provide a corrosion-resistant coating composition that is capable of forming a coating film with superior moisture resistance and a superior corrosion-resistant property for a long period, particularly over a long period even under acidic environmental conditions, further with superior storage stability.

The corrosion-resistant coating composition of the present invention comprises a coating film-forming resin (A), a crosslinking agent (B), and a magnesium hydroxide (C), wherein the oil absorption of the magnesium hydroxide (C) is 70 g/100 g or less and wherein the BET specific surface area is 4.0 m.sup.2/g or less.

The invention relates to flame-retardant polyurethane foam materials or polyurethane/polyisocyanurate foam materials (also referred to individually or collectively as “PUR/PIR foam materials” below) and to methods for producing PUR/PIR foam materials by reacting a reaction mixture containing A1 an isocyanate-reactive component, A2 a propellant, A3 a catalyst, A4 optionally an additive, and A5 a flame retardant with B an isocyanate component, wherein the production is carried out using an index of 80 to 600. The invention is characterized in that the flame retardant A5 contains (hydroxymethyl)phosphonate and optionally the dimer thereof as component A5.1.

Two-Component Solvent-Less Adhesive Composition

The present disclosure provides a two-component solvent-less adhesive composition. The two-component solvent-less adhesive composition contains the reaction product of (A) an isocyanate component; and (B) a polyol component containing (i) a polyester-polycarbonate polyol and (ii) a phosphate-terminated polyol. The present disclosure also provides a method of forming the two-component solvent-less adhesive composition.

Resin particles each include a binder resin. The binder resin includes an amorphous polyester resin and a crystalline resin. The amorphous polyester resin includes alcohol monomers as one of constituent components. The alcohol monomers include propylene glycol. Abundance of the crystalline resin in a region from an outermost surface of each of the resin particles to a depth of 150 nm from the outermost surface is 4% or less relative to an amount of the crystalline resin in an entire region of each of the resin particles. A radiocarbon .sup.14C content of the resin particles is 5.4 pMC or greater.

TOPCOAT COMPOSITIONS AND FILMS FOR TOUCHABLE SURFACES

Stretchable films are disclosed, that include a coating layer comprising the reaction product of: an oligomeric polyester resin wherein the oligomeric polyester resin has a glass transition temperature (Tg) of −15 to 10° C., a hydroxyl equivalent weight of 350 to 500 mgKOH/g; and an aliphatic isocyanate, isocyanurate, allophanate, or biuret. The coating of these films has a fingerprint removal haze under 2, a percent haze removal over 70 percent, an initial scratch/mar over 40% gloss retention, and a recovered scratch/mar over 85% gloss retention as measured by both % gloss retention after 24 hours and % gloss retention at 60° C., as defined herein.

This invention provides: a polyurethane for cosmetic preparations, which is obtained by reacting (A) a polyester polyol having two or more hydroxyl groups in each molecule, (B) an aliphatic diol consisting of two hydroxyl groups and an aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 3 to 8 carbon atoms, (C) a carboxyl group-containing diol which has a carboxyl group and two hydroxyl groups in the molecule and has a molecular weight of 100 to 300, (D) a diisocyanate containing at least one compound selected from the group consisting of isophorone diisocyanate, hexamethylene diisocyanate and dicyclohexylmethane-4,4′-diisocyanate, and (E) a chain extender which contains at least one compound selected from the group consisting of water, ethylene diamine and propylene diamine and which has a weight average molecular weight of 50,000 to 300,000; a production method; and a cosmetic preparation which contains this polyurethane for cosmetic preparations.

Two-component solventless adhesive compositions and methods of making same

A solventless adhesive is disclosed, the adhesive comprising an isocyanate component comprising at least one isocyanate prepolymer that is the reaction product of reactants comprising at least one isocyanate, at least one polyol, and a branched alkane diol, and a polyol component comprising at least one polyol and a branched alkane diol. The branched alkane diol can comprise a single side alkyl chain, such as 3-methyl-1,5-pentanediol, 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol, and combinations thereof. Further, a method for forming a laminate is disclosed, the method comprising forming a solventless adhesive composition comprising a branched alkane diol, applying a layer of the adhesive composition to a surface of a film, bringing the layer into contact with a surface of another film to form a laminate, and curing the adhesive composition. Still further, a laminate formed by the method is disclosed.

The present invention further relates to a production process for such thermoplastic polyurethanes and to the use of a thermoplastic polyurethane according to the invention or of a thermoplastic polyurethane obtainable or obtained by a process according to the invention for producing extrusion products, films and molded articles.
