Shaped nonwoven
A nonwoven fabric is provided. The nonwoven fabric can include a first surface and a second surface and a visually discernible pattern of three-dimensional features on one of the first or second surface. Each of the three-dimensional features can define a microzone comprising a first region and a second region. The first and second regions can have a difference in values for an intensive property, wherein at least one of the surfaces has a TS7 value of less than about 15 dB V.sup.2 rms, and wherein the first surface has a TS7 value that is higher than the second surface TS7 value.
Cross-plane drainage fabric
Described herein is an anti-capillary barrier geotextile which includes a wicking yarn in its structure and has a volumetric moisture content at breakthrough of less than 0.30 as determined by the TenCate Test. In one aspect the anti-capillary barrier geotextile is a single-layer woven geotextile and includes a wicking yarn set and, optionally, a first non-wicking yarn disposed in one axis of the geotextile; and a second non-wicking yarn disposed in another axis of the geotextile and interweaving the wicking yarn set and optional first non-wicking yarn.
SEA-ISLAND COMPOSITE FIBER
Provided is a sea-island composite fiber having excellent spinnability and thermoplastic deformability. The sea-island composite fiber comprises an island component and a sea component having a lower melting point than that of the island component, wherein the fiber has an aspect ratio of from 2.0 to 5.0 in a fiber cross section; and the sea component has a sea component thickness of from 0.2 to 2.0 μm, the sea component thickness being defined as a distance between an outer periphery of the fiber and an island component closest to the outer periphery on a minor axis of the fiber cross section.
MODIFIED CROSS-SECTION HOLLOW FIBER, AND FIBER ASSEMBLY USING SAME
The present invention provides a modified cross-section hollow fiber, wherein the fiber comprises a hollow part, a shape maintaining part and a volume control part, the volume control part can have a shape protruding in the direction opposite to the center of the fiber, and an end part has a round shape.

POLYAMIDE MONOFILAMENT AND FIBER PACKAGE THEREOF
A polyamide monofilament is characterized in that the abrasion tension thereof when passed through a ceramic guide is 0.3 cN/dtex or less and in that the amount of static electricity generated at the exit of a chromium round bar guide, which is a frictional body, when the polyamide monofilament is passed through the chromium round bar guide, is 300 V or less. This polyamide monofilament and fiber package provide a gauze woven fabric for which tension is low when passing through a thread path guide when warping warp yarn, for which generation of static electricity is suppressed, and which has excellent weaving productivity.

SMART SENSING SYSTEMS AND RELATED METHODS
A smart patch including multi-component strands integrated into clothing or other textiles where the strands of the smart patch include sensory elements that can simultaneously measure tactile forces, moisture/wetness, and other signals, such as biopotentials. A sensing system comprising: a first set of strands including a plurality of first multi-component strands, each of the first multi-component strands including a conductive portion and a non-conductive portion; and a second set of strands including a plurality of second multi-component strands, each of the second multicomponent strands including a conductive portion and a non-conductive portion, and a plurality of third multi-component strands, each of the third multicomponent strands including a conductive portion and a non-conductive portion, the third multi-component strands being different than the first multi-component strands and the second multi-component strands.
Method and apparatus for manufacturing natural fiber based staple fibers on a common surface
The application relates to a method and apparatus for manufacturing a natural fiber based staple fibers. The application further relates to the staple fibers, staple fiber based raw wool and products comprising such. A method comprises providing a cellulose suspension (101, 310, 510) including water, refined cellulose fibrils and at least one rheology modifier, directing the cellulose suspension through a nozzle (102, 320, 520) onto a surface (300, 400, 500), drying the cellulose suspension onto the surface (103, 300, 400, 500) for forming a fiber (350, 550), and cutting the cellulose suspension on the surface for forming staple fibers (105).
Systems And Methods For Energy Storage Cells Having Improved Intercalation
An energy storage cell includes an enclosure, a cathode, a separator, and an anode in electro-chemical communication with each other to produce electric current. The cathode, separator, and anode are located within the enclosure. The anode includes a plurality of components for improved density and improved extent of content organized as graphene. Each component is formed as a tape. The tape includes planar sheets of carbon organized in a primarily perpendicular line orientation.
