MOTORIZED JOINT POSITIONER
20190262203 · 2019-08-29 · ·

A method includes obtaining a surgical plan comprising a plurality of stages, determining, for each stage, a corresponding position of a first holder of a motorized joint positioner, selecting a selected stage of the plurality of stages of the surgical plan, and moving, by a computer programmed to control the motorized joint positioner, the first holder to the corresponding position of the first holder for the selected stage.

Surgical patient positioner apparatus, system and method

A modular surgical patient positioner unit apparatus, system and method for adjustably positioning human joints such as knees for surgical operating procedures having a base plate to support moveably a transformable carriage that can be releasably locked in position and which adjustably supports a boot or other limb holder which can be releasably locked in position by the carriage. The base plate also is configured with a side bar located at a mid-portion of the base plate to secure to an arc clamp configured to secure the positioning system to a side rail of an operating table in a medical procedure on the left or right side of the body. An extension unit also is provided and configured to secure to a lower surface of the base plate to extend the base plate of the system, as needed, for larger limbs of patients, which extension unit is configured with a stud and post locking portions for securing to the base plate and for positioning in a medical procedure on either side of the body.

Methods for robotic surgery using a cannula

Methods for preparing a bone in surgery using an imaging system, a navigation system having a locating device, and a robotic system having a cutting tool. A cannula is guided into an incision to expand the incision and provide access to the bone so that the cutting tool is insertable through the cannula to remove material from the bone. An implant is insertable through the cannula to be placed in the bone.

Devices and methods for supporting a patient's legs

A foot holding assembly that includes a boot configured to hold the foot of the patient, a rigid sole coupled to the boot, a pivot arm having a first end rotatably coupled to the sole, a slider block pivotally coupled to a second end of the pivot arm and configured to be slidably mounted to a rail. The slider block includes a segmented body including a pair of longitudinal segments and a lateral segment, and a retainer disposed at an lateral interface of the pair of longitudinal segments and the lateral segment, wherein the retainer is configured to receive a second end of the pivot arm, wherein the pair of longitudinal segments and the lateral segment of the segmented body are each configured to move relative to one another in response to insertion of the second end of the pivot arm into the retainer.

ADAPTER PLANE FOR SURGICAL TABLE AND SURGICAL TABLE

An adapter plane for surgical table comprising a central body having a proximal portion suitable to at least partially accommodate the lumbar region of the body of a patient and a distal portion suitable to at least partially accommodate the sacral region of the body of a patient, wherein the adapter plane can be coupled to a surgical table by placing the central body at least partially on top of the surgical table, and the central body, in the distal portion, is provided with a quick coupling device for coupling the adapter plane to one or more surgical instruments.

A motorized joint positioner includes a first holder configured for a first portion of a patient's anatomy to rest thereon, and a second holder configured for a second portion of the patient's anatomy to rest thereon. The joint positioner further includes a first robotic arm coupled to the first holder, and a second robotic arm coupled to the second holder. At least one of the first and second robotic arms comprises at least two joints providing movement of the corresponding first or second holder in at least two degrees of freedom. At least one of the first and second robotic arms includes an actuator controllable to position the corresponding first or second holder.

MEDICAL TABLE WITH LEG SUPPORT

A patient support apparatus is defined that includes a patient support having one or more pads for supporting a patient's torso and hip in a generally horizontal orientation. At least one, elongated leg support extends from the patient support. The leg support is movable through a generally horizontal plane. A portion of the leg support is declinable and inclinable from the horizontal plane. A traction device is connected to the leg support. The traction device is attachable to a patient's leg and operable to exert a traction force on the patient's leg along an axis of the traction device. The traction device is connected to the leg support by a slide assembly and the traction device can be secured stationary relative to the leg support or the traction device can slide relative to the leg support.

SOFT TISSUE BALANCING IN ARTICULAR SURGERY

Systems and methods may be used to perform robot-aided surgery. A system may include a robotic controller to monitor a position and orientation of an end effector coupled to an end of a robotic arm. The robotic controller may apply a force to a bone using the end effector, such as via a soft tissue balancing component. The robotic controller may determine soft tissue balance using information from a tracking system, such as a position of a first tracker affixed to the bone. The soft tissue balance may be output, such as to a display device.
