SEWING SYSTEM
A sewing system serves for sewing seams which the multi-dimensionally in space. A needle-bar upper part of a sewing head is mounted so as to be pivotable in a driven manner about a needle-bar longitudinal axis. A gripper lower part is mounted so as to be pivotable in a driven manner, and in a manner synchronous with the needle-bar upper part, about the needle-bar longitudinal axis, in the sewing-head lower part. Motor components for driving the movement of a needle bar, for pivoting the needle-bar upper part, for driving a gripper in a manner synchronous with the needle bar and for pivoting the gripper lower part are disposed outside the needle-bar upper part and outside the gripper lower part. Parts to be sewn that are topographically non-uniform are also rendered accessible.
COATING APPARATUS OF AIRBAG REINFORCING LIQUID
A coating apparatus of an airbag reinforcing liquid is used in a sewing machine that includes: a sewing needle driving an upper thread by penetrating sewing target cloth through a vertical movement; and a presser foot disposed above the sewing target cloth, and feeding the sewing target cloth while moving vertically synchronously with the vertical movement of the sewing needle. The coating apparatus includes: a reinforcing liquid supplying part, supplying a reinforcing liquid for reinforcing a sewn part onto the sewing target cloth on a front side from the sewing needle in a feeding direction of the sewing target cloth; and a stamp part attached to the presser foot, and expand the reinforcing liquid supplied from the reinforcing liquid supplying part onto the sewing target cloth around the sewn part by being operated integrally with the presser foot above the sewing target cloth.
COATING APPARATUS OF AIRBAG REINFORCING LIQUID
A coating apparatus of an airbag reinforcing liquid is used in a sewing machine that includes: a sewing needle driving an upper thread by penetrating sewing target cloth through a vertical movement; and a presser foot disposed above the sewing target cloth, and feeding the sewing target cloth while moving vertically synchronously with the vertical movement of the sewing needle. A presser foot position retainer includes a presser foot and a restricting member. The presser foot is swingably attachable to a presser holder of a sewing machine. The presser foot includes a shaft extending in an axial direction, a restricted portion, and a pressing surface configured to press a workpiece. The restricting member includes a restricting portion capable of contacting the restricted portion. The restricting member is attachable to the presser holder. The restricting member is configured to move between a first position and a second position by a user operation. When the restricting member is located at the second position, the restricting portion is in contact with the restricted portion to limit a swingable range within which the presser foot attached to the presser holder is swingable about the shaft to less than that when the restricting member is located at the first position.

A presser foot position retainer includes a presser foot and a restricting member. The presser foot is swingably attachable to a presser holder of a sewing machine. The presser foot includes a shaft extending in an axial direction, a restricted portion, and a pressing surface configured to press a workpiece. The restricting member includes a restricting portion capable of contacting the restricted portion. The restricting member is attachable to the presser holder. The restricting member is configured to move between a first position and a second position by a user operation. When the restricting member is located at the second position, the restricting portion is in contact with the restricted portion to limit a swingable range within which the presser foot attached to the presser holder is swingable about the shaft to less than that when the restricting member is located at the first position.
Fabric Clamp Adapted to Pass Under Presser Foot of Sewing Machine
A fabric clamp that passes under the presser foot of a sewing machine is provided. The clamp has a loop of resilient strip folded over upon itself, an upper slotted lever, and a lower slotted lever. The resilient strip has an upper portion, the terminus of which defines an upper planar jaw, and a generally planar lower portion, the terminus of which defines a lower planar tongue, joined by a curvilinear central portion. The upper portion of the resilient strip passes through the upper lever. The lower portion of the resilient strip passes through the lower lever. The total transverse width of the portions of the tongue is no more than about 12 mm. The curvilinear portion urges the jaw and tongue together. When the upper jaw and the tongue are adjacent and the levers are urged together, the jaw and the tongue are displaced from adjacent deployment.

A hopping foot assembly for a sewing machine having a needle comprises a hopping foot base and a hopping foot arm extends axially from the hopping foot base relative to an axis. The hopping foot base is shaped to include an opening that extends axially through the hopping foot base relative to the axis. The hopping foot arm is configured to be coupled to the sewing machine to fix the hopping foot base relative to the sewing machine.

In a sewing machine, a feed dog feeds a workpiece placed on a throat plate. A presser bar has a lower end portion on which a presser foot is mountable. A presser bar spring urges the presser bar downward. During a first prescribed period of time in which a top of the feed dog is above a top surface of the throat plate, an adjustment part of an adjusting mechanism is spaced apart from a restricting part of the adjusting mechanism to cause an urging force of the presser bar spring to be transmitted to the presser foot. During a second prescribed period of time in which the top of the feed dog is beneath the top surface of the throat plate, the adjustment part is in contact with the restricting part to prevent the urging force of the presser bar spring from being transmitted to the presser foot.
