The controller is configured to, where the feed unit and the sewing unit do not perform sewing, execute a first control in which the controller causes the projector to project a first image to the bed, the first image including a first object and a second object, the first object indicating a planned sewing position, the second object indicating a reference position to position the workpiece. The controller is configured to, where the feed unit and the sewing unit perform sewing, execute a second control in which the controller causes the projector to project a second image to the bed, the second image including the first object and not including the second object.

A projection system for projecting sewing patterns onto a surface comprises a vertical beam, a projector, and a cart. The vertical beam includes (a) a floor engaging portion at a bottom end and (b) a ceiling engaging portion at a top end, the ceiling engaging portion being vertically movable with respect to the floor engaging portion such that, when in use, the floor engaging portion and the ceiling engaging portion engage a floor and a ceiling, respectively, to anchor the projection system adjacent the surface. The projector is configured to receive data representing the sewing patterns and to project the sewing patterns. The cart is operably attached to the projector and slidably attached to the vertical beam, wherein sliding the cart vertically adjusts a height of the projector above the surface.

A projection system for projecting sewing patterns onto a surface comprises a vertical beam, a projector, and a cart. A hopping foot assembly for a sewing machine having a needle comprises a hopping foot base and a hopping foot arm extends axially from the hopping foot base relative to an axis. The hopping foot base is shaped to include an opening that extends axially through the hopping foot base relative to the axis. The hopping foot arm is configured to be coupled to the sewing machine to fix the hopping foot base relative to the sewing machine.

A hopping foot assembly for a sewing machine having a needle comprises a hopping foot base and a hopping foot arm extends axially from the hopping foot base relative to an axis. The hopping foot base is shaped to include an opening that extends axially through the hopping foot base relative to the axis. The table has provisions to slidably secure guide plates thus allowing for more consistent seam lines when in use. The guide plates have provisions to provide clearance to the presser foot when moved closer together. The table has ruled markings to more precisely set the seams with the use of the guide plates. The guide plates can be used with sewing machines with integral tables by the addition of a pair of support plates secured to the bottom of the table, and a pair of slide plates separated by sleeves. The slide plates may have graded markings as depicted on the table.
