Mobilization module and mobilization furniture
A mobilization module for mobilizing a body part of a patient includes a body part support, a movement mechanics and a drive unit. The body part support is coupled to the movement mechanics. The movement mechanics is adapted to induce a controlled cadenced displacement of the body part support. The controlled cadenced displacement moves the body part support by at least 1 cm or at least 3 cm and preferably by at least 5 cm. The drive unit is connected to the movement mechanics to actuate the movement mechanics.
HEAD STABILIZATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A head stabilization system including a head restraint mechanism and a head harness configured to engage a head of a patient. The head restraint mechanism is configured to be operatively disposed on a patient support device and includes a generally vertically upstanding arcuate tilt guide. The head harness is releasably attachable to and at least partially supported by the head restraint mechanism. The head harness is selectively repositionable generally vertically relative to the tilt guide. The head restraint mechanism is configured to stabilize the head harness relative to the patient support device. The head restraint mechanism is configured to selectively allow lateral flexion of a neck of the patient, lateral rotation of the head of the patient, and extension and flexion of the neck of the patient.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR POSITIONING A PATIENT'S BODY AND TRACKING THE PATIENT'S POSITION DURING SURGERY
The disclosed system uses a body shape capturing device for acquiring a patient's body shape and a 3D shape generating device for additively manufacturing a patient receiving device that is at least partially adapted to the patient's body shape or at least partially deviates from the patient's body shape bringing the patient's body into a desired shape so that the outer shape of the patient's body during surgery is identical to the outer shape of the body during shape capturing. The patient receiving device comprises at least one tracker element that is detectable by a detection system. The detection system captures data indicating the at least one tracker element's position and/or orientation during surgery enabling, particularly for surgical operations on or in soft tissues with high flexibly and with no specific natural or artificial landmarks, the surgeon to orientate/navigate in live images from the surgical site.
INTUBATION POSITIONING DEVICE
Technologies are disclosed for an intubation positioning device that may be configured to selectively adjust a head, neck, and/or an upper back of a patient lying on a surgical table. The device may comprise a body that may have a top, a bottom, a superior end relative to the neck, and/or an inferior end relative to the neck. The body may include an outer casing that permits expansion and contraction of the body in at least a vertical direction, perhaps via at least two inflatable chambers disposed in the body. At least a part of the superior end may be sized or shaped to receive the head of the patient. The device may include a controller configured to selectively permit entrance of a fluid into the first inflatable chamber and/or the second inflatable chamber that may be independently transitioned between an inflated shape and a deflated shape.
Adapter plane for surgical table and surgical table
An adapter plane for a surgical table comprising a central body having a proximal portion suitable to at least partially accommodate the lumbar region of the body of a patient and a distal portion suitable to at least partially accommodate the sacral region of the body of a patient, wherein the adapter plane can be coupled to a surgical table by placing the central body at least partially on top of the surgical table, and the central body, in the distal portion, is provided with a quick coupling device for coupling the adapter plane to one or more surgical instruments.
System, apparatus and method for patient positioning prior to, during and/or after medical procedures
A system for positioning a patient before, during or after a medical procedure can include an arm assembly having a proximal end, an opposing distal end, and at least one joint therebetween. The joint can be configured to permit the distal end of the arm assembly to move with respect to the proximal end of the arm assembly. The proximal end of the arm assembly can be configured to be fixed with respect to a surgical table. The system can also include a ball joint mechanism attached to the distal end of the arm assembly and to a head support configured to support a patient's head. The ball joint mechanism can include a ball joint and a motor. Activation of the motor can permit or prevent movement of the ball joint.
Method and apparatus for securing a patient's limb
A limb support apparatus and corresponding methods for making same are disclosed. The limb support can comprise a shell for supporting a patient's limb during treatment, examination, and/or recovery. The shell can comprise at least one padding configured to protect the patient's limb. The padding can be secured to the shell using one or more mounting structures included in the padding. The mounting structures are configured such that they are received by corresponding mounting openings and/or features in the shell. An interference fit between the mounting structures and mounting openings/features secures the padding against the shell, thereby preventing the padding from inadvertently moving or sliding on the shell. Embodiments disclosed herein eliminate the need for traditionally used fasteners that are often difficult to clean and sterilize, thereby improving the quality of patient care and facilitating cleaning of patient and/or operating rooms.
Comfort therapy
The present invention is a therapeutic pad with breast receiving cavities. The therapeutic pad with breast receiving cavities contains a platform, a cavity, and an adjustment element. The cavity traverses into the platform. The adjustment element is positioned within the cavity. The therapeutic pad with breast receiving cavities may take the form of a therapy device to replace surgical table padding, chiropractic dorsal pads, or other various therapeutic treatment table paddings to accommodate humans with breasts or additional curvature in the breast area. The therapeutic pad with breast receiving cavities constitutes specialized padding with breast recess areas to provide maximum comfort by allowing patients to control the pressure in the breast area when receiving therapeutic care or medical procedures.
Kyphoplasty system and method
A kyphoplasty system includes various instruments which can be selectively used in a surgical theater (e.g., during a surgical operation on a patient) or a surgical training environment. The kyphoplasty system can include one or more of a kyphoplasty apparatus, a prone table mat, a connector system, a bone introducer needle, and a biopsy device. The kyphoplasty system may also include a training system for use in the training environment.
ROTATION LOCKOUT FOR SURGICAL SUPPORT
Devices, systems, and methods for patient support include arrangement of a patient support top for rotation and a rotation lockout assembly for selectively blocking against rotation of the patient support top.
