A method of operating a washing machine appliance includes filling a wash tub with a wash liquid during a first cycle. The method also includes receiving a pause input after filling the wash tub and before draining the wash tub during the first cycle. In response to the pause input, the first cycle is paused for a pause duration. The method further includes incrementing a pause counter in response to the pause input and storing the pause duration after pausing the first cycle. The method also includes filling the wash tub with a wash liquid during a second cycle after the first cycle and automatically pausing the second cycle after filling the wash tub with the wash liquid during the second cycle, based on the pause counter and the stored pause duration

Laundry apparatus and control method thereof

Disclosed herein are a laundry apparatus for heating a drum by an induction heater and a control method thereof. According to an embodiment, the method of controlling a laundry apparatus including a tub, a drum, an induction heating module mounted on the tub to heat the drum, and a circulation pump configured to pump wash water from the tub to an upper portion of the drum includes supplying wash water into the tub through a water supply valve, circulating the wash water by operating the circulation pump and performing fabrics soaking by driving the drum, performing heating by the induction heating module after termination of the fabrics soaking, and performing washing by driving the drum, wherein a water level of the wash water at the termination of the fabrics soaking is lower than a water level of the wash water at the termination of the water supply.

APPARATUS INCLUDING ACTUATOR AND/OR HEATER AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SAID APPARATUS

An apparatus includes at least one of an actuator or a heater, and a controller that controls the at least one of the actuator or the heater. The controller: obtains an application that is defined by a plurality of blocks that drive the at least one of the actuator or the heater and includes information on an order in which each of the plurality of blocks is executed; consults a first rule that prohibits two or more given blocks from being executed in a given order, and when the information on the order correlates with the given order, modifies the application by changing the order in which each of the plurality of blocks is executed; and drives the at least one of the actuator or the heater based on the modified application.

INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD AND INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS

An information processing method includes: selecting M blocks as M selected blocks from among N blocks for driving at least one of an actuator or a heater included in an apparatus, in accordance with an input operation performed by an operator; generating an application by setting, in accordance with an input operation performed by the operator, a parameter for driving the actuator or the heater in each of the M selected blocks; consulting a rule defining a parameter range within which the above-described driving is not permitted, and modifying the application by changing at least one of the M selected blocks, the at least one of the M selected blocks including a parameter included in the parameter range; and outputting the modified application.

CLOTHING TREATMENT APPARATUS

A clothing treatment apparatus includes a cabinet; a container having a front surface having an opening, a rear surface having an exhaust port, and a body extending between the front surface and the rear surface; a drum in the container; an induction heater is arranged on an outer surface of the body of the container to heat the drum; a supply duct arranged on an outer side of the container and including an outlet portion connected to the front surface of the container; an exhaust duct connected to the supply duct and in communication with the exhaust port; and a ventilation portion for generating the air flow from the exhaust duct toward the supply duct. The front surface of the container includes an inlet port located outside the opening and the outlet portion of the supply duct is in communication with the inlet port of the container.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CLEANING LAUNDRY

A method for controlling a laundry washing machine. The method includes: performing a tub loading process comprising operating supply valve(s) to provide a first volume of water through a detergent supply system and into a tub to fill the tub with wash liquid; performing a washing process comprising rotating a drum to agitate laundry in in the presence of the wash liquid; performing a static rinsing process comprising operating a pump to remove a free volume of wash liquid from the tub without rotating the drum; and performing one or more rinsing processes comprising: operating the supply valve(s) to provide a volume of clean rinse water to the tub, operating the pump to remove the rinse water from the drum, and operating the motor to spin the drum at high speed to extract rinse water from the laundry, while continuing to operate the pump.

WASHING MACHINE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

Provided are a washing machine and a method for controlling the same. The method for controlling a washing machine includes supplying water to a tub, driving a driving unit to perform tumbling to rotate a drum disposed in the tub, calculating a water level variation in the tub, and displaying freeze state information on a display unit when the calculated water level variation is less than a reference water level variation.

Intelligent network for chemical dispensing system

System and method for dispensing product to a washing machine. A chemical dispensing system includes a system controller, machine interface, and pump controller that communicate through serial data buses. The system controller provides a user interface, retrieves washing machine status information from the machine interface, and issues product dispensing commands to the pump controller. The pump controller monitors pump status and dispenses product in response to commands from the system controller. The pump controller: (1) determines pump activation periods based on calibration data stored in a pump controller memory; (2) tracks pump usage and adjusts the activation period to compensate for pump wear as the pump ages; (3) disables the pump if conditions exists that preclude operating the pump; (4) monitors product levels, and (5) reports pump status to the system controller. Integral channels are included in the pump housing to provide stress relief to a squeeze tube.
