A method for preventing an oversuds condition in a washing machine appliance includes a tub and a basket rotatably mounted within the tub. The basket defines a chamber for receipt of articles for washing. The method includes obtaining, via a controller, one or more detergent parameters from one or more previous wash cycles of the washing machine appliance. Further, the method includes analyzing, via the controller, the one or more detergent parameters to predict an amount of suds that will be generated in a future wash cycle of the washing machine appliance. Moreover, the method includes automatically adjusting, via the controller, at least one operating parameter for the future wash cycle based on the predicted amount of suds to prevent the amount of suds from exceeding a suds threshold.

AUTOMATIC SELF-CLEAN CYCLE PRIOR TO DRYING CYCLE IN A LAUNDRY APPLIANCE
A laundry appliance includes a drum rotatably mounted within a cabinet and defining a chamber configured for receiving a load of clothes, a door pivotally mounted to the cabinet for providing selective access to the chamber, and a user interface for controlling operation of the laundry appliance. A controller is configured to monitor the number of wash cycles that have occurred in the laundry appliance since the last self-clean cycle. Once the laundry appliance reaches a predetermined number of wash cycles without an intervening self-clean cycle, an automatic self-clean cycle is initiated upon the next selection of a drying cycle by the user, wherein the drying cycle provides an indication that the chamber is empty of article of laundry and that the user has no further immediate washing needs. In these circumstances, the controller is configured to reconfigure the selected drying cycle into a combination cycle including a self-clean cycle which is automatically followed by the desired drying cycle.
LAUNDRY MACHINE HAVING INDUCTION HEATER AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF
Disclosed herein is a laundry machine. More particularly, a laundry machine for generating steam by an induction heater and a control method thereof are disclosed. According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, provided is a method of controlling a laundry machine including a tub, a drum rotatably arranged in the tub to accommodate an object and provided with a through hole on an outer circumferential surface thereof, and an induction heater provided to the tub, and configured to perform a steam operation. The steam operation may include heating a heating surface of the drum facing the induction heater by driving the induction heater, spraying, through a spray nozzle, water toward the heating surface heated in the heating operation, and rotating the drum such that the steam is introduced into the drum through the through hole in a space between the tub and the drum.

Disclosed herein is a chemical dosing system for an appliance, such as a laundry washing machine or a dishwashing machine, having a water inlet, the system comprising a meter for determining the volume of water supplied to the appliance, a pump for dispensing a quantity of a chemical to the appliance and a control unit arranged to receive a signal from the meter and to cause to be dispensed to the appliance a volume of chemical that is proportional to the quantity of water supplied to the appliance. The disclosed system may enable a correct quantity of chemical to be automatically dispensed to many types of appliance, without the need to know anything about the appliance, or to derive electrical signal from the appliance.

The present invention provides a laundry treating apparatus including a drain pump having a motor, an inverter unit to transfer power to the motor, and a control unit to control the inverter unit to operate the drain pump, wherein the control unit sets an operation mode of the drain pump based on a current flowing in a part of the inverter unit, and controls the inverter unit based on the set operation mode.

Proposed are a washing machine and a control method therefor, which may allow a user to safely and additionally put laundry in during the operation of the washing machine including an auxiliary door. Also, when the user additionally puts laundry in while the washing machine performs a cycle, the washing machine changes a cycle profile for each cycle, and corrects a cycle profile according to an additional put-in point, thereby raising reliability of the user for the washing machine.
