Adjustable patient support apparatus for assisted egress and ingress

An adjustable patient support apparatus comprises a base, a support frame, and a patient support deck. The patient support deck comprises articulating deck sections, such as a leg section, seat section, and a back section pivotally coupled together. One or more actuators may be configured to move the leg and/or back section between a lowered position and one or more raised positions. The seat section may include one or more articulating seats to assist with ingress and egress from the patient support apparatus. The one or more seats may be articulated manually or electrically via a lever or actuator.

DUAL-STRAP HOISTING DEVICE AND PATIENT LIFT APPARATUS COMPRISING THE SAME

There is in particular described a hoisting device for a patient lift apparatus, comprising first and second lifting straps configured to selectively lift or lower a patient, first and second winding spools configured to allowing winding or unwinding of the first and second lifting straps, respectively, and a driving arrangement configured to drive the first and second winding spools so as to selectively wind or unwind the first and second lifting straps. The driving arrangement comprises a first electric motor in driving connection with the first winding spool and a second electric motor sin driving connection with the second winding spool, the first and second electric motors being operable in synchronism to wind or unwind the first and second lifting straps. The hoisting device further comprises a first guide roller whose circumferential surface contacts a first side of the first lifting strap and a second guide roller whose circumferential surface contacts a first side of the second lifting strap. Each of the first and second guide rollers is supported by a one-way bearing configured such that each of the first and second guide rollers is forcibly driven into rotation upon unwinding of the associated lifting strap from the associated winding spool and is free to rotate in an opposite direction upon winding of the associated lifting strap onto the associated winding spool. Each of the first and second guide rollers is forcibly driven into rotation upon unwinding of the associated lifting strap from the associated winding spool such that a tangential speed of the circumferential surface of each of the first and second guide rollers is greater than an effective tangential speed at which the associated lifting strap is unwound from the associated winding spool.

Person support apparatuses with load cells

A person support apparatus, such as a bed, cot, stretcher, chair, or the like, includes a frame, a support surface supported by the frame, a plurality of load cells that detect weight supported on the support surface, at least one A/D converter, and a controller. The load cells output analog signals that are converted to digital by the A/D converters. The controller switches a sampling rate of the A/D converters between at least first and second rates. The outputs from the load cells are forwarded to a plurality of signal acquisition nodes that include the A/D converters. The nodes are positioned at locations that minimize the length of travel of the analog signals, thereby reducing noise interference. Shivering, occupant absence/presence, vital signs, occupant movement, and/or other parameters are detected by the load cells.

Patient stand assist devices with features for governing the assist path

A patient assisting system includes a frame having a sling assembly attachment point and a lifting arm which is movable relative to the frame and which includes a receptacle. When the sling assembly is attached to the attachment point and extends through the receptacle, a portion of the sling travels through the receptacle as the lifting arm moves relative to the frame. Another embodiment includes exactly one four bar linkage comprised of a frame having an attachment point for a sling assembly, a lifting arm having a receptacle, a lower cross arm and an upper cross arm. The lifting arm is adapted to be movable between a person-seated position and a person-standing position. The receptacle is located along the lifting arm so that motion of the lifting arm causes the receptacle to move along a curved path having a concave side which is person-facing.

Lift Systems And Load Cells For Patient Support Apparatus

A patient support apparatus includes a base and a support frame. A lift system operates to lift and lower the support frame relative to the base. The lift system includes a first lift and a second lift. The first lift and the second lift are independently operable to place the support frame in one or more Trendelenburg positions. A plurality of load cells acts between the lifts and the support frame such that a load on the support frame is transmitted to the plurality of load cells to measure the load. The first lift includes a guided body arranged to move longitudinally relative to the base in response to operation of the second lift to move the support frame to the one or more Trendelenburg positions.

System and method for monitoring/detecting and responding to infant breathing
11712180 · 2023-08-01 · ·

This disclosure generally relates to systems and methods for detecting, monitoring, and responding to abnormalities in an infant's breathing. One or more sensing devices may collect infant breathing related data, which may be filtered and converted to a frequency signal. The frequency signal may be monitored for irregularity or stoppage, and a processing module may determine whether the irregularity or stoppage is caused by an actual stoppage or irregularity in infant breathing. If infant breathing is determined to have stopped, a corrective action may be performed.

Techniques for determining a pose of a patient transport apparatus

A patient transport apparatus comprising a support frame, a base, a bracket coupled to the support frame and comprising a channel being non-linear, a frame assembly coupled between the support frame and the base and comprising a slidable member disposed in the channel, the slidable member being moveable between a plurality of different positions in the channel to place the support frame in a plurality of different poses relative to the base. The patient transport apparatus also comprises a sensor configured to detect the slidable member in the channel and produce a reading, as well as a controller coupled to the sensor and configured to receive the reading from the sensor, determine the position of the slidable member in the channel based on the reading, and determine the pose of the support frame relative to the base based on the determined position of the slidable member.

Mattress having selectable patient weight valve, inductive power, and a digital x-ray cassette

A patient support apparatus includes a frame and a mattress positioned on the frame. The mattress has an electronic component positioned within an interior of the mattress. An inductive power transmitter is coupled to the frame. An inductive power receiver is positioned within the interior of the mattress and electrically coupled to the electronic component.
