SYSTEM FOR MANAGING PATIENT SUPPORT APPARATUSES AND CLINICAL ROUNDS
A caregiver assistance system for assisting a caregiver in a healthcare facility to perform his or her rounding duties comprises a server in communication with one or more patient beds and one or more electronic devices (e.g. smart phones) that are remote from the beds and that include a display, a user input, and a web browser. The server executes a caregiver assistance application that causes the electronic device to perform the following actions after the web browser of the electronic device accesses a particular URL whose content and function are controlled by the caregiver assistance application: (a) display rounding information on the display relating to a patient associated with the bed, and (b) forward a completion indication to the caregiver assistance application wherein the completion indication is generated in response to a caregiver manipulating the user input when the caregiver has completed a rounding task associated with the patient.
HOSPITAL BED HAVING ROUNDING CHECKLIST
A patient support apparatus, such as a hospital bed, communicates with an electronic medical record (EMR) system in healthcare facility. The hospital bed includes a patient support structure to support a patient, a graphical user interface coupled to the patient support structure, and control circuitry coupled to the graphical user interface. The graphical user interface displays at least one input that may be used by a caregiver to chart data into an electronic medical record (EMR) of a patient supported by the patient support structure.
PATIENT SUPPORT APPARATUSES WITH RECONFIGURABLE COMMUNICATION
A patient support apparatus includes a frame, support surface, cable interface, switches, a location detector, and a controller. The switches are electrically coupled to the interface and the controller selects a configuration for the plurality of switches based on a current location of the patient support apparatus within a healthcare facility. Alternatively or additionally, a user interface may display a plurality of identifiers that each identifies a predefined configuration for the switches wherein the controller configures the switches according to an identifier selected by the user. A transceiver on board the patient support apparatus may communicate with different fixed transmitters and the controller may implement different switch configurations based on messages from the different fixed transmitters.
WEIGHING APPARATUS
There is disclosed apparatus (100) for weighing a person with reduced mobility, the apparatus (100) comprising: a seat portion (102); scales (104) for weighing the person when sitting on the seat portion; and a lifting mechanism (106) to assist the person in standing up from the seat portion (102).
System, apparatus and method for supporting and/or positioning a patient before, during, or after a medical procedure
A system for supporting or positioning a patient before, during, or after a medical procedure can include a platform configured to support at least a portion of a patient. A support column can be positioned beneath the platform. A base can be positioned beneath the support column and configured to support the support column. The base can include at least one drive wheel configured to contact a ground surface and move the platform with respect to the ground surface. A drive assist user interface module can be operatively connected to the at least one drive wheel. The drive assist user interface module can be configured to permit an operator of the system to selectively control movement of the at least one drive wheel. The drive assist user interface module can be part of or be attached to an attachment that includes a plate having a top surface. In one configuration, the top surface of the plate can be configured to extend parallel with a top surface of the platform when the attachment is attached to the platform.
Weight Sensing Pad Assembly
A weight sensing pad assembly includes a pad that is comprised of a resiliently compressible material. The pad is positionable beneath a mattress of an ambulance gurney. In this way the pad is exposed to the weight of a patient lying on the ambulance gurney. An electronic scale is integrated into the pad to sense the weight of the patient when the patient lies on the ambulance gurney. The electronic scale displays weight indicia comprising numbers communicating the weight of the patient in kilograms. In this way the electronic scale facilitates emergency responders to accurately determine medication dosages that are based on the patient's weight.
Patient table and patient weight measuring system
Patient weight measuring system includes a patient table and a control circuit. The patient table includes a tabletop that receives a patient thereon, an elevation mechanism, and a load sensor. The elevation mechanism adjusts a height of the tabletop relative to a floor. The elevation mechanism includes a support frame and an actuator. The support frame includes multiple pivotable frame members mechanically connected to the tabletop. The actuator is configured to exert an actuator force on at least one of the frame members to control the height of the tabletop. The load sensor is operably connected to the actuator and configured to measure the actuator force. The control circuit is communicatively connected to the load sensor, and is configured to calculate a weight of the patient disposed on the tabletop based on the actuator force measured by the load sensor.

PATIENT SUPPORT APPARATUS WITH EQUIPMENT WEIGHT LOG
A patient support apparatus, such as a bed, cot, stretcher, or the like, includes a litter frame, a support deck, a plurality of force sensors adapted to output signals corresponding to downward forces exerted on the support deck, and a controller configured carrying out various functions and to display various screens on a touchscreen or display, including a scale home screen and a scale equipment screen. A patient's current weight can be displayed on the scale home screen and the weight of equipment supported on the apparatus can be displayed on the scale home screen and the scale equipment screen. When a patient's current weight is characterized as possibly including non-patient weight, the controller can display a warning screen.
PERSON SUPPORT APPARATUS WITH ADJUSTABLE EXIT DETECTION ZONES
A person support apparatus, such as a bed, cot, stretcher, or the like, for a supporting an occupant includes an exit detection system that has, in some embodiments, multiple user-selectable zones. An alert is triggered when the occupant crosses a boundary of the selected zone. A first zone has a boundary that is adjusted based on a condition of the person support apparatus, such as the width of the support deck or other characteristic. A second zone has a boundary that is not adjusted based on the condition of the person support apparatus, but which may have a boundary that is dependent on an initial location of the occupant when the exit detection system is armed. The initial location of the occupant may correspond to a center of gravity of the occupant.
