Silk performance apparel and products and methods of preparing the same
Silk infused performance apparel and methods of preparing the same are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, silk performance apparel includes textiles, fabrics, consumer products, leather, and other materials that are coated with aqueous solutions of pure silk fibroin based protein fragments. In some embodiments, coated apparel products, textiles, and upholstery, as well as other materials, exhibit surprisingly improved moisture management properties, resistance to microbial growth, increased abrasion resistance, and flame resistance.
Alcohol repellent treated nonwoven
Alcohol repellent fabrics having a wide variety of uses (e.g., surgical drapes, surgical gowns, etc.) are provided. The alcohol repellent fabric includes a fibrous substrate and an alcohol repellent composition (ARC). The ARC includes at least one fluorochemical and at least one binder.
WATER-REPELLENT AND OIL-RESISTANT AGENT, TEXTILE PRODUCT, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING TEXTILE PRODUCT
A water-repellent and oil-resistant agent which has a high bio-based carbon content as the entire water-repellent and oil-resistant agent and furthermore which can impart sufficient water-repellency and oil-resistance to a treatment target is provided. A textile product in which the water-repellent and oil-resistant agent is attached, and a method for producing a textile product with the water-repellent and oil-resistant agent is provided. A water-repellent and oil-resistant agent comprising a non-fluorine compound as a main component and a liquid medium, wherein a bio-based carbon content according to ASTM D6866 is 40% or more. The non-fluorine compound has, for example, a hydrocarbon group having 7 to 40 carbon atom.
Bituminous membranes with biodegradable binder
Subject of the invention is a nonwoven, wherein the nonwoven fibers are organic polymer fibers, and wherein the nonwoven is consolidated with an aqueous binder, wherein the binder comprises protein and a polyphenolic compound from natural origin. Preferably, the nonwoven carrier is highly suitable for producing bituminous membranes. Subject of the invention are also uses, methods, bituminous membranes, binders and building materials, which are related to the nonwoven carrier.
