Alkyl aromatic hydroalkylation for the production of plasticizers
Provided are compounds of the following: ##STR00001##
wherein R.sub.1 is a saturated or unsaturated cyclic hydrocarbon optionally substituted with an alkyl and/or an OXO-ester, and R.sub.2 is a C.sub.4 to C.sub.14 hydrocarbyl, preferably the residue of a C.sub.4 to C.sub.14 OXO-alcohol. Also provided are processes for making the compounds and plasticized polymer compositions containing said compounds.
AQUEOUS BINDER COMPOSITION FOR FIBRES AND FIBROUS PRODUCTS PRODUCED
An aqueous inorganic or hybrid binder composition includes (as % by weight of the solid matter): from 55 to 100% of at least one alkali metal silicate exhibiting an Si/alkali metal weight ratio which varies from 0.3 to 2, from 0 to 35% of at least one plasticizing agent, and from 0 to 10% of one or more additives. Fibrous products can obtained from this composition, in particular based on mineral fibers, such as mats, screens, woven fabrics, in particular painter's canvases, and knitted fabrics.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY WALLPAPER WITH WEATHERING RESISTANCE AND CONTAMINATING RESISTANCE AND PREPARING METHOD
An environmentally friendly wallpaper with weathering resistance and contaminating resistance includes a substrate layer and a silicone rubber layer composite and connected together. The wallpaper is prepared by a process of calendering and attaching-pressing for patterning-vulcanizating. The process is simple and the production can be constant, resulting in high efficiencies; the entire process is free of harmful substances and polluters. The prepared wallpaper is environmentally friendly and wholesome, and the wallpaper has superior properties such as weathering resistance, contaminating resistance, flame resistance, moisture resistance and mould resistance.
METHOD OF FORMING A SURFACE COVERING, AND APPARATUS AND COMPOSITION FOR FORMING A SURFACE COVERING
A method of forming a surface covering includes supplying a surface covering raw material. The surface covering raw material includes a substrate and a foamable layer formed on the substrate. A foaming inhibiting composition is applied in a predetermined pattern to the foamable layer formed on the substrate. The foaming inhibiting composition is a non-aqueous composition.
Apparatus and method of making a nonwoven ceiling tile and wall panel
A nonwoven ceiling tile or wall panel with noise absorption properties utilizes unique acoustical absorbing fibers. During manufacturing, binder fibers melt between interstitial spaces to fill spaces and create impedance to air flow and sound flow through the fibers. Various shapes and/or sizes of fibers may also be utilized to further impedance of air and sound through the ceiling tile or panel. The ceiling tiles and panels are made from 100% organic fibers that are either virgin or recycled material. The material is structurally self-supporting eliminating need for structural additives or structural design features. Fire and smoke retardants are incorporated into the fibers. Antimicrobial and anti-stain additives may also be used in the fibers. The material is 100% polyester fibers (PET and PETG). The material is printable using sublistatic printing or transfer printing process. The ceiling tiles and panels are light weight and moldable in a wide range of designs.
FIBER LAMINATED STRUCTURE AND PRODUCTION METHOD THEREFOR
Disclosed is a fiber laminated structure that has a waterproof breathable function, has stable waterproofness even when being stretched, has high peel strength, and is superior in durability. Some instances provide a water-repellent fiber laminated structure in which a nonwoven fabric web with a bulkiness of 1.5 to 2.5 cm3/g and a thickness of 20 to 60 ?m including a fiber made of a polyurethane-based polymer having a fiber diameter of less than 1 ?m is present on one side of a woven cloth having stretchability at least in either a warp direction or a weft direction with an adhesive agent A interposed therebetween.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING BUILDING PANELS
A method of manufacturing building panels includes assembling a frame of a building panel. The frame defines at least one cavity and at least one injection aperture in fluid communication with the at least one cavity. The method also includes positioning the frame on one of a base and a shelf of a multi-panel consolidation device having a plurality of shelves, with the shelves being in an expanded configuration, and at least substantially enclosing the at least one cavity. The method also includes forcing the shelves of the multi-panel consolidation device into a collapsed configuration, and injecting an expandable polymer through the at least one injection aperture into the at least one cavity. The method further includes forcing the shelves into an expanded configuration after a predetermined period of time selected to permit the expandable polymer to form a foam bonded to the frame.
