Steel cord for reinforcing rubber article
Provided is a steel cord for reinforcing a rubber article which can further improve cut resistance when applied to a tire. Provided is a steel cord for reinforcing a rubber article including: one core strand 11 having a layered-twisted structure formed by twisting a plurality of steel filaments 1; and a plurality of sheath strands 12 having a layered-twisted structure formed by twisting a plurality of steel filaments 2, wherein the sheath strands are twisted around the core strand. A ratio S1/S of the sum S1 of cross-sectional areas of outermost layer sheath filaments constituting an outermost layer sheath of the core strand to the sum S of cross-sectional areas of all filaments constituting the core strand is from 0.69 to 0.74, and a ratio Ps/P of the sum Ps of strengths of the sheath strands to strength P of the cord as a whole is from 0.81 to 0.85.
Bead wire for a tire, tire and manufacturing method
The bead wire (52) comprises several windings of wire and a basic hexagonal bead wire (56) comprising: two axially and radially external lateral rows (F1, F2) of N2 windings, two axially external and radially internal lateral rows (F3, F4) of N2 windings, where N1=N2+1 or N1=N2, two junctions (J1, J2), each formed by a winding that an axially and radially external lateral row (F1, F2) and an axially external and radially internal lateral row (F3, F4), have in common, each winding in common having no winding of wire axially on the outside of it. The bead wire (52) comprises two axially and radially external additional lateral rows (A1, A2) of N3 windings substantially parallel respectively to each axially and radially external lateral row (F1, F2).
Running wire rope and method of manufacturing same
A wire rope formed from a resin core and six strands, the resin core having an inner core with a circular cross section and an outer layer built up on the periphery thereof. The outer layer has a melting temperature lower than that of the inner core. The six strands are twisted together helically on the periphery of the resin core in an intertwining die in such a state that gaps are assured between the strands. The resulting wire rope is heated in a heating unit at a temperature higher than the melting temperature of the outer layer but lower than the melting temperature of the inner core. The wire rope is formed by subsequently compressing the six strands from the periphery thereof in a compressing die. The molten outer layer is hardened by natural cooling, after which the wire rope is taken up.
Wire member
A wire member that exhibits an excellent sliding property is provided. A wire member 1 includes: a core member 2 that has an elongated shape; and a surface-disposed member 3 that is spirally disposed on a surface of the core member 2 so as to leave predetermined spaces along a longitudinal direction of the core member 2. In a cross-sectional view taken along the axis of the core member 2, the front end and the rear end of each of projections 3A formed by the surface-disposed member 3 respectively form contact angles 1, 2 each being 5 or greater relative to the surface of the core member 2.

COMPOSITE ARTICLE COMPRISING A METAL REINFORCEMENT ELEMENT
A composite article comprising at least one metal reinforcement element embedded in a polymer material, said metal reinforcement element being at least partially coated with an adhesion promoting layer, said adhesion promoting layer being interposed between said metal reinforcement element and said polymer material, characterized in that said adhesion promoting layer comprises an acid anhydride-grafted polyolefin and a phenolic antioxidant.
A STEEL CORD
The invention provides a steel cord for rubber reinforcement. The steel cord comprises a core strand and at least three outer strands twisted around the core strand, the core strand comprises at least one first core filament and multiple first outer filaments twisted around the first core filament, each outer strand comprises a number of second filaments, at least one of multiple first outer filaments is preformed prior to being twisted into the core strand, and at least one of second steel filaments is straight prior to being twisted to form each outer strand. The steel cord has improved performance on core filament migration.
