Splitting method

A method is provided for manufacturing at least first and second assemblies of M1 filamentary elements and M2 filamentary elements. At least one of the first and second assemblies includes a plurality of filamentary elements wound together in a helix. The method includes a step of assembling M filamentary elements together into a layer of the M filamentary elements around a temporary core, to form a temporary assembly. The method also includes a step of splitting the temporary assembly into at least the first and second assemblies of M1 filamentary elements and M2 filamentary elements.

It has a braided tubular sheath, the sheath being able to change reversibly and repeatedly in length and its braided structure being such that an increase in sheath length is accompanied by a lateral dimensional decrease. Within the sheath is an impervious flexible bladder. The bladder defines a fluid-containing internal chamber which is acted on by the sheath so that the volume of the chamber varies with the sheath length. A pressure source arranged to pressurise the chamber. A restricted passage communicates with the chamber.

The pressurised bladder urges the sheath to expand laterally and to contract. An increase in sheath extension causes fluid to be exhausted from the chamber through the restriction, increasing chamber pressure and providing a damping force opposed to the sheath's extension.

Methods and systems for ropes used to catch livestock such as a cattle roping lariat. In one embodiment, the lariat includes a set of strands, each strand including a set of yarns surrounding a central core. The set of strands are twisted to form a twisted rope. The lariat is manufactured using a set of components including a head box, a tree-cross box with a branched strand tree device and a cross device, and a tail box.

Coupling body devices, including methods of making the same, are provided and described. A method of manufacturing a coupling body, for example, can include forming a tube by braiding nonmetal fibers, forming a flange by rolling inwards an end of the tube, providing a metallic connector, inserting at least one Z-pin in an end portion of the connector, and coupling the tube and the connector by inserting the Z-pin in the flange and performing a composite material forming process.

Coupling body devices, including methods of making the same, are provided and described. A method of manufacturing a coupling body, for example, can include forming a tube by braiding nonmetal fibers, forming a flange by rolling inwards an end of the tube, providing a metallic connector, inserting at least one Z-pin in an end portion of the connector, and coupling the tube and the connector by inserting the Z-pin in the flange and performing a composite material forming process.
