PROCESS FOR PRODUCING BINDERLESS FORMALDEHYDE-FREE FIBERBOARD AND COPRODUCING FULVIC ACID FROM STRAW
A process for producing binderless formaldehyde-free fiberboard and coproducing fulvic acid from straw. All-element purification, activation, saccharification and separation are carried out on the non-wood fiber raw material through boiling and defibering to obtain primarily activated lignin, purified and activated fibers, monosaccharides of hemicellulose and non-wood fibers, and fulvic acid. Deep activation is carried out on activated lignin. The binderless formaldehyde-free fiberboard is produced by using sufficiently activated lignin and low-molecular-weight monosaccharides as a hardener and binder. By sufficiently activating the lignin, comprehensive utilization of straw fiber as resources is realized, and the special requirements of binderless formaldehyde-free fiberboard for high-quality fibrous raw material and high-activity lignin are met. The boiled dilute black liquor was subjected to extraction and concentrated to obtain fulvic acid, thereby avoiding pollution caused by pulping and board production. The distilled water obtained by carrying out evaporative concentration on the boiled dilute black liquor is reused.
System and method of producing micro fibrillated cellulose (MFC)
A system and method of producing MFC (micro fibrillated cellulose), which system comprises at least one refiner. The refiner comprises a mechanism for refining the stock in at least two refining stages, advantageously at least two refiners for refining the stock in at least two refining stages, and that the refiners comprise a number of refining bars. The refining bars have width of 0.5-2.0 mm, height less than 7 mm and groove width of 0.5-3 mm. The method comprises at least two refining stages, in which the pulp stock is refined in at least one refining stage in consistency of 3-5%, and the method comprises at least one screening stage in at least one screen in consistency of 0.5-5%.
Process of producing nanofibrillated cellulose with low energy consumption
The present invention refers to the separation of cellulose pulp into distinct fractions with different draining and morphological characteristics, as well as the use of part of these fractions for the production of nanocellulose. The process in reference combines the unitary operations of fiber separation, thickening to a certain consistency, draining and drying of the cellulosic pulp with the high drainage ability and production of nanocellulose from high primary fines content pulp. The process may consider any cellulosic pulp fiber derived from short or long fiber woods such as Eucalyptus, Corymbia, Birch, Aspen, Pinus, recycled fibers, etc., their residues such as bark, sawdust, etc.

A method of increasing the throughput and/or decreasing the energy usage of a pulping process includes the steps of providing a plurality of lignocellulosic chips, providing a refining composition, applying the refining composition to the plurality of lignocellulosic chips, and mechanically refining the plurality of lignocellulosic chips to form pulp. The refining composition includes water and a lubricating additive including the reaction product of a sugar and an alcohol. The step of applying the refining composition to the lignocellulosic chips is conducted less than 5 minutes prior to, or concurrently with, the step of mechanically refining the wood chips to form pulp.

The invention discloses a method to form a composition, which method includes fibrillating fibers to form MFC in the presence of an alkali-metal silicate whereby an MFC and silicate mixture is formed The presence of alkali-metal silicate during fibrillation of fibers to MFC, reduces the viscosity and increases the water release behavior, whereby the fibrillation can be accomplished at higher concentrations and a more uniform mixture of MFC-silicate is accomplished. The composition formed by the method of the invention may e.g. be used in paper or paperboard production, in cement production or as an additive in composites.

Also a paperboard and a corrugated board produced by such a process.
