Methods of making paper products using a molding roll
A method of making a fibrous sheet. The method includes forming a nascent web from an aqueous solution of papermaking fibers, dewatering the nascent web to form a dewatered web having a consistency from about ten percent solids to about seventy percent solids, moving the dewatered web on a transfer surface, and transferring the dewatered web from the transfer surface to a molding roll at a molding zone. The molding roll includes an exterior and a patterned surface on the exterior of the molding roll. Papermaking fibers of the dewatered web are redistributed on the patterned surface in order to form a molded paper web. The method also includes transferring the molded paper web to a drying section and drying the molded paper web in the drying section to form a fibrous sheet.

The heating elements being arranged to heat the elongated product so that the heating the heating temperature is at least 80° C. on at least one surface of the elongated product.
MOLDING ROLL FOR MAKING PAPER PRODUCTS
A roll for molding a fibrous sheet. The roll includes a rotatably driven cylindrical shell. The cylindrical shell includes an interior surface, an exterior surface, and a permeable patterned surface on the exterior surface of the shell. The permeable patterned surface has at least one of a plurality of recesses and projections, a plurality of holes extending from the exterior surface to the interior to allow air to be moved through the shell. Each hole has an exterior end and an interior end, and a plurality of grooves. Each groove is fluidly connected to the exterior end of each hole and extends outward from the corresponding hole. The roll also includes a vacuum box on the inside of the cylindrical shell to draw air from the exterior surface of the shell to the interior surface. The vacuum box is stationary with respect to the rotation of the shell.
Molding roll for making paper products
A roll for molding a fibrous sheet. The roll includes a cylindrical shell and a vacuum box. The cylindrical shell is configured to be rotatably driven and is permeable to allow air to be moved through the cylindrical shell. The cylindrical shell has a permeable patterned surface on an exterior surface of the cylindrical shell. The permeable patterned surface has at least one of a plurality of recesses and a plurality of projections. The density of the at least one of the plurality of recesses and the plurality of projections is greater than about fifty per square inch. The vacuum box is positioned on the inside of the cylindrical shell and is configured to draw air from the exterior surface of the cylindrical shell to an interior surface of the cylindrical shell. The vacuum box is stationary with respect to the rotation of the cylindrical shell.
Method and apparatus for producing a fibre web
According to an example aspect of the present invention, there is provided an apparatus and a method comprising a forming section for feeding an aqueous furnish of fibres on a moving surface to form a shape of a product and a pressing and heating section for removing water from the shaped product received from the moving surface. The pressing and heating section comprises a felt and metal belt that are set to run against each other for receiving the furnish from the moving surface and heating elements for heating the web in at least two pulses including at least one first pulse wherein the product is pressed for at least 10-200 ms on a first pressure and at least one second heating and smoothing pulse wherein the product is heated at least for 10-200 ms on a pressure that is higher than the first pressure, and at least one of the surfaces pressing the product being the smooth metal belt.
PAPER ROLL PRODUCTION APPARATUS
Provided is a paper roll production apparatus that saves installation space and enables production of paper rolls of different qualities and a shortening of production time. The paper roll production apparatus includes: a sheet-forming and dewatering part 5 forming paper stock into a sheet and for dewatering the paper stock; a drying machine 6 drying the paper stock dewatered by the sheet-forming and dewatering part 5 to form a dry paper material; a switching mechanism part switching to feed, into the drying machine 6, the paper stock dewatered by a first sheet-forming machine included in the sheet-forming and dewatering part 5 or the paper stock dewatered by a second sheet-forming machine included in the sheet-forming and dewatering part 5; and a winder 8 winding up the dry paper material provided by the drying machine 6 to form a paper roll. The first sheet-forming machine operates at a sheet-forming speed at which a fiber orientation of the paper stock is maintained. The second sheet-forming machine operates at a sheet-forming speed faster than the sheet-forming speed of the first sheet-forming machine. The winder 8 winds up the dry paper material at a speed corresponding to the sheet-forming speed of the first sheet-forming machine or to the sheet-forming speed of the second sheet-forming machine to form the paper roll material.
Method for producing a fibrous material web
A method for producing a fibrous material web, particularly for producing a tissue or hygienic paper web, in which a fibrous suspension is dewatered in a crescent former to obtain a fibrous material web, and dried on a Yankee. After the crescent former, the fibrous material web is guided along with the forming screen and felt over a suction roller downstream of the forming roller. A device for carrying out the method for producing a fibrous material web.
METHODS OF MAKING PAPER PRODUCTS USING A PATTERNED CYLINDER
A method of making a molded paper web includes bringing a permeable patterned surface of a patterned cylinder into contact with a nascent web and conveying the nascent web between a transfer surface and the permeable patterned surface over an arc length of the permeable patterned surface. The arc length forms at least a portion of a molding zone. The method also includes applying a vacuum over at least a portion of the arc length. The method further includes transferring the nascent web from the transfer surface to the permeable patterned surface of the patterned cylinder in the molding zone. The vacuum is applied during the transferring of the nascent web from the transfer surface to the permeable patterned surface of the patterned cylinder.
