Method and apparatus for producing a zoned and/or layered substrate
Methods and apparatuses for producing a zoned and/or layered substrate are described. A method can include providing a first supply of fibers, providing a second supply of fibers, and providing a headbox. The headbox can include a machine direction, a cross-direction, and a first cross-directional divider that separates a first zone of the headbox from a second zone of the headbox in a cross-directional manner. The method can further include transferring the first supply of fibers and the second supply of fibers to the headbox. The method can also include transferring the first supply of fibers and the second supply of fibers through the headbox to provide the substrate.
Method of producing a fibrous product and a fibrous product
The present invention relates to multi-layer fiber products and a method of manufacturing these kinds of products. The present product comprises a first layer consists mainly of natural fibers and a second, heat-sealing layer located on top of the first layer. The heat-sealing layer consists mainly of synthetic thermoplastic fibers or particles. According to the present method, the heat-sealing layer is brought onto the first layer already during the web forming process, the first and the second layers being formed and joined together in a foam forming process. With the present invention, it is possible to decrease the amount of plastic materials in packaging materials having heat-sealing properties.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING OF A FOAM-FORMED CELLULOSIC FIBRE-MATERIAL, A BULK SHEET AND A LAMINATED PACKAGING MATERIAL COMPRISING THE CELLULOSIC FIBRE-MATERIAL
The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a foam-formed cellulosic fibre-material comprising coarse cellulosic fibres a cellulose reinforcement fraction. Furthermore, the invention relates to a foam-formed cellulosic fibre-material, a cellulose bulk sheet for a packaging material and a laminated packaging material comprising the foam-formed cellulosic fibre-material.
METHODS FOR MAKING PAPER OR BOARD, A BOARD TRAY AND PULP PARTICLES COATED WITH FOAMABLE POLYMER FOR USE IN THE SAME
The invention concerns a method of manufacturing paper or board, the paper or board obtained by the method, and a method of producing a tray from the board. In a fibrous stock for papermaking is incorporated an amount of polymer coated fibrous particles, which even have a foaming agent such as moisture contained therein. A web is formed from the fibrous stock on a forming fabric of a paper or board machine, followed by pressing and drying to a finished paper or board. As the paper or board is sufficiently heated the foaming agent within the particles evaporates, causing expansion and foaming of the polymer coating, which adds to malleability of the board as it is moulded into a shaped article such as a board tray. The invention even covers production of doubly coated fibrous particles for use in said methods, the inner coating layer being of a foamable polymer with a higher melt flow rate and the outer coating layer being of a non-foaming polymer of a lower melt flow rate.
INSULATION MATERIAL, INSULATION PRODUCT, LAYER STUCTURE, CONSTRUCTION AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING INSULATION MATERIAL
The invention concerns an insulation material (10) comprising a wood-derived material (11) and a fire retardant (13). The wood-derived material is in the insulation material as a non-separated fiber fraction (14) and as a separated fiber fraction (15) and the insulation material is a combination of said fractions with the fire retardant without separate polymer components (28). In addition, it is also an object of the invention to provide an insulation element, a layer structure, a construction and a method of producing an insulation material.
Lightweight Paper Board
A fibrous material, method for making the same, and articles comprising the same are shown and described. The fibrous material is a low density material that exhibits high strength properties. In embodiments, the fibrous material has a density of 0.15 g/cm.sup.3 or less and a tensile strength of 10 N/inch or greater. The fibrous material may be in the form of a paperboard and is suitable for use in a variety of applications including as a packaging material.
Shaped tray or plate of fibrous material and a method of manufacturing the same
The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a shaped tray or plate of fibrous material. The method comprises the steps of (i) providing a fibrous pulp, in which the fibres substantially consist of at least 85 wt-% of softwood fibres having an average fibre length of at least 2.0 mm and at most 15 wt-% of broke having a fibre length of about 0.05 mm to 1.0 mm, (ii) turning the pulp into a foamed suspension, (iii) supplying the foamed suspension from a headbox to a forming fabric of a board machine to form a fibrous web, (iv) drying the web to obtain a dried web having a compressibility in the thickness direction of at least 20%, and (v) including the web as a layer in a board, which is turned to said tray or plate by thermopressing or deep-drawing. The invention even covers shaped trays and plates produced by use of the method.
