Mucoadhesive Patch and Uses Thereof
The present invention provides a mucoadhesive patch for attachment to a mucosal surface in a patient, the patch comprising a fibrous polymeric mat substrate and a plurality of polymeric flock particles that are attached to the substrate.
ELECTROSPUN FIBERS HAVING A PHARMACEUTICAL AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME
A fiber may comprise an electrospun polymer and a pharmaceutical. The pharmaceutical may be dispersed within the electrospun polymer, and may have the form of a crystal, an oil, or a combination thereof. A method of making an electrospun fiber may comprise configuring a receiving surface to receive a polymer fiber, applying a charge to one or more of the receiving surface, a polymer injection system, and a polymer solution ejected from the polymer injection system, and depositing a polymer solution ejected from the polymer injection system onto the receiving surface. The polymer solution may comprise a polymer and a pharmaceutical. A method of treating a disorder in a subject may comprise obtaining such a fiber having an effective amount of a pharmaceutical, applying the fiber to an oral region of the subject, and allowing the fiber to disintegrate, thereby delivering the effective amount of the pharmaceutical to the subject.

Method of preparing a composite sheet
A composite sheet comprising two or more layers is described where the degree of abrasiveness of can be controlled. The sheet can comprise partially or wholly biodegradable or compostable materials or blends thereof. Methods of preparing the composite sheets are also described.
Instantaneously wettable polymer fiber sheet
A polymer fiber sheet exhibits high porosity and good tensile properties in both “wet” and “dry” states. A fiber modifying agent is incorporated into a polymer extrusion and fiber formation process to produce a highly porous polymer fiber sheet that is instantaneously wettable by an aqueous medium. The fiber modifying agent functions as either one or both (1) a plasticizer that reduces the polymer extrudate melt viscosity and allows the formation of fine fibers during processing and (2) a surface modifying agent that promotes the instantaneous and sustainable wettability of individual polymer fibers and a porous fiber sheet formed from them. The polymer fiber sheet maintains its wettability even after repeated washing and drying cycles. The resultant fiber sheet can be densified and embossed to provide a desired thickness and porosity, while at the same time longitudinal ribs with desired pattern can also be formed on the fiber sheet.

Method for preparing quantum rod/polymer fiber membrane by using electrospinning technique
Disclosed is a method for preparing a quantum rod/polymer fiber membrane by using electrospinning technique. The method comprises the following steps: (1) preparing a quantum rod solution; (2) preparing a polymer solution, and adding the quantum rod solution obtained in step (1) into the polymer solution so as to form an electrospinning precursor solution with a volume concentration of the quantum rods of 5%-80%; and (3) adding the electrospinning precursor solution into an electrospinning device, regulating the voltage of a generator and the receiving distance, and then performing electrospinning to prepare the quantum rod/polymer fiber membrane. By adjusting the concentration of the quantum rod solution and parameters in the electrospinning process, the method realizes directional arrangements of the quantum rods in the electrospinning process, thereby obtaining the quantum rod/polymer fiber membrane with high degree of polarization performance.
