CIRCULAR SOCK MACHINE AND A METHOD FOR ITS USE
20240133088 · 2024-04-25 ·

The present device is a circular knitting machine, also known as a circular sock machine, designed to mostly be manufactured from polymers, such as plastics, or other materials that are typically lighter and have other physical properties, such as low hardness and tensile strength, compared to steel, from which such machines have historically been manufactured. The present design allows for the use of modern manufacturing techniques, such as 3-D printing in which a filament is often used comprising various types of polymers. The present device can also comprise a ribber apparatus, which is also designed to allow for most of its parts to be manufactured from polymers. However, in certain embodiments, some of the parts, such as needles, springs, and bolts can still be made from steel.

Circular knitting machine with an offset system for the stitch cam of the needle plate

A circular knitting machine for knitted items, comprising: a supporting structure; a needle-holding cylinder selectively turnable and provided with a plurality of cylinder needles; and a dial assembly. The dial assembly includes a supporting ring integral with the supporting structure; a needle-holding plate turnably mounted to the supporting ring; a plurality of plate needles; a plurality of control cams which interact with the plate needles to transmit to them a radial movement inside the respective sliding seat, wherein the control cams globally form a cam profile. The dial assembly includes a stitch cam placed movably on the supporting ring and interacting with the plate needles in a given angular sector during the rotation of the needle-holding plate, so as to transmit to the plate needles a motion of return for executing stitch formation. The stitch cam is selectively movable with respect to the cam profile.
