SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR USING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR IMPROVED RINSE CYCLES IN A WASHING MACHINE APPLIANCE

A washing machine appliance includes a wash basket that is rotatably mounted within a wash tub and that defines a wash chamber for receiving a load of clothes. A dispensing assembly selectively dispenses wash fluid through a discharge nozzle into the wash tub and a camera assembly is used to monitor the load of clothes and diagnose the presence of excessive bubbles after a wash cycle. Specifically, a controller of the washing machine appliance uses the camera assembly to obtain one or more images of the load of clothes after the drain phase of the wash cycle and analyzes the one or more images using a machine learning image recognition process to determine a bubble level within the wash tub. If the bubble level is greater than a predetermined bubble threshold, corrective action is taken to reduce the bubbles and detergent concentration.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR USING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TO PERFORM DETERGENT DISPENSER DIAGNOSTICS IN A WASHING

A washing machine appliance includes a wash basket that is rotatably mounted within a wash tub and that defines a wash chamber for receiving a load of clothes. A dispensing assembly selectively dispenses a flow of wash fluid through a discharge nozzle into the wash tub and a camera assembly is used to monitor the wash fluid and diagnose issues related to the detergent dispenser. Specifically, a controller of the washing machine appliance uses the camera assembly to obtain one or more images of the flow of dispensed wash fluid, analyze the one or more images using a machine learning image recognition process to determine an actual detergent content of the flow of wash fluid, determine that the actual detergent content is different than a target detergent content, and implement a responsive action, e.g., such as stopping the operating cycle and notifying a user.

METHOD AND CONTROL UNIT FOR OPERATING A CLEANING APPLIANCE FOR A PRETREATMENT AND MAIN TREATMENT OF TEXTILES, AND CLEANING APPLIANCE

A cleaning appliance and method for operating a cleaning appliance with a rotatable, non-ribbed drum for the pre-treatment and main treatment of textiles. The method comprises a step of supplying a feed signal for feeding a cleaning liquid into a suds container until a predetermined initial fill level is reached. A saturation action causes the textiles to be pre-treated to be saturated with the cleaning liquid. The method includes reading in a fill level signal that represents a fill level of the cleaning liquid, and supplying a further feed signal for feeding the cleaning liquid into the suds container until a target fill level is reached. A motion signal causes a rocking rhythm of the drum for pre-treating the textiles to be pre-treated. After the pre-treatment, an unlocking of a drum door takes place in order to allow additional textiles to be added for a main treatment of the textiles.

DEVICE, HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCE AND METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING SUBSTANCE GROUPS IN A FLUID WITHIN A HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCE

Device for detecting substance groups in a fluid within a household appliance, comprising an emission apparatus that emits a first electromagnetic radiation, characterized by an emission spectrum, into a test volume present with the fluid, further comprising a first measuring apparatus that detects a first spectrum of a second electromagnetic radiation led out of the test volume present with the fluid, further comprising an evaluation apparatus that is provided and designed to evaluate the first spectrum, whereby substance groups can be identified by using reference spectra, with the emission spectrum comprising a wavelength range of visible light and infrared radiation.

LAUNDRY TREATMENT APPLIANCE WITH WATER SOFTENING SYSTEM

A laundry treatment appliance comprising: a fresh water supply; a treatment chamber; a water softener; a liquid delivery system connected to the water supply, the water softener, and a treatment agent delivery system configured to store a water-soluble treating agent pod and/or a steam generator. The liquid delivery system is configured to supply fresh water from the water supply or soft water from the water softener into the treatment chamber. The appliance can perform one or more treatment cycles including at least one of: a first cycle in which the process liquid supplied by said process liquid delivery system further includes laundry treatment agents contained in the pod, and a second cycle in which the steam generator is activated to steam into the treatment chamber. The appliance further comprises a control unit to activate the water softener to provide the process liquid delivery system with soft water.
