Acoustical treatment for a rotor of a laundry appliance
A drive motor for a laundry appliance includes a stator having a plurality of windings that extend around teeth of the stator. A rotor is in electromagnetic communication with the stator. The rotor is coupled to a drive shaft that extends through the stator. When the winding of the stator is electrically energized, the rotor rotates relative to the stator at a predetermined range of rotational frequencies that includes a baseline natural frequency of the rotor. A harmonic-modulating member is attached to the rotor that modulates the baseline natural frequency of the rotor to be a modulated natural frequency. The predetermined range of rotational frequencies is free of the modulated natural frequency of the rotor.
LAUNDRY TREATING APPLIANCE WITH DRIVE ATTACHMENT MECHANISM
A laundry treating appliance having a tub defining an interior, a basket located within the interior and rotatably mounted within the tub and having an upper and lower basket base portion, a balance ring mounted to the upper edge of the basket peripheral wall, a clothes mover rotatably mounted within the basket, a drive system comprising a motor operably coupled to the basket and the clothes mover and configured to selectively oscillate or rotate the basket or the clothes mover and a first and second drive shaft, and a drive attachment mechanism configured to couple the basket to the second drive shaft, with the drive attachment mechanism comprising a bushing assembly.
Washing machine having an exoskeleton
A laundry treating appliance configured to treat laundry according to a treating cycle of operation includes a chassis defining an interior and a tub located within the interior and statically mounted to the chassis, with the tub defining a liquid chamber, and having at least one suspension opening in a side of the tub. A rotatable drum is located within the liquid chamber and rotatable about a horizontal axis. An electric motor having an output shaft is operably coupled to the rotatable drum, wherein rotation of the output shaft effects a rotation of the drum. An exoskeleton is located within the liquid chamber and physically supports the rotatable drum and electric motor.
OPTIMIZING SOAK TIME IN A WASHING MACHINE APPLIANCE
A method of operating a washing machine appliance is provided. The washing machine appliance includes a rotatable basket and a motor configured to drive the rotatable basket. The method includes sensing an attribute of articles in the basket. The method also includes determining a pause duration for an agitation operation based at least in part on the sensed attribute of the articles in the basket. The method further includes performing the agitation operation for a period of time. The agitation operation includes activating a motor of the washing machine appliance to agitate the articles within the basket for an agitation duration and deactivating the motor of the washing machine appliance for the pause duration. The period of time is equal to the sum of the agitation duration and the pause duration.
Multi-component rotor for an electric motor of an appliance
A motor for a laundry appliance includes a drive shaft coupled to a drum at a first end. The rotor frame is coupled proximate the second end of the drive shaft, where the rotor frame includes at least one polymeric material. A central hub includes a core and a perimetrical ring that extends circumferentially around the core. A plurality of recesses are defined within a planar surface of the perimetrical ring, wherein a portion of the polymeric material is received within the plurality of recesses to secure the rotor frame to the central hub.
VIBRATION ISOLATOR FOR AN APPLIANCE MOTOR HAVING INTERNAL SILENCING VOIDS
A laundry appliance includes a cabinet. A rotating drum is positioned within the cabinet. A blower directs process air through an airflow path. The airflow path includes the drum. A motor is coupled to the cabinet via a retaining bracket. The motor includes a drive shaft operably coupled to one of the drum and the blower. A damping ring is positioned about the drive shaft and between the motor and the retaining bracket. Damping apertures are defined within a body of the damping ring. The damping apertures define respective voids that absorb operational vibrations generated by the motor in an activated state.
ELECTROMOTOR AND LAUNDRY MACHINE
An electromotor and a laundry machine are provided. The electromotor has a controller and a controller cover. The controller is arranged on the controller cover. A first end cover and a second end cover of the electromotor are fixedly arranged on two opposite sides of a stator respectively. The controller cover is provided with a first mounting part and a second mounting part secured with a water container. The first end cover or the stator is provided with a third mounting part secured with the first mounting part. The third mounting part is arranged on the first end cover or the stator. The laundry machine has the electromotor.
WASHING MACHINE
A washing machine including a bearing housing to rotatably support a shaft configured to drive the drum and insertable into the tub, the bearing housing including a stator coupling portion to which a stator of a drive motor configured to rotate the shaft is coupled, and a plurality of leg portions spaced apart along a circumferential direction of the stator coupling portion. The plurality of leg portions include a leg plate including a first end connected to the stator coupling portion and a second end formed to extend along a radial direction of the stator coupling portion from the first end, a connection portion provided to connect between adjacent first ends of the plurality of leg portions, a separation space formed between second ends of the plurality of leg portions, and an outer rib formed along an edge of the leg plate and the connection portion.
