A laundry treating apparatus includes a cabinet. The laundry treating apparatus further includes a drawer provided to be ejected from the cabinet. The laundry treating apparatus further includes a tub provided inside the drawer, providing a space where water is stored. The laundry treating apparatus further includes a drum rotatably provided inside the tub, providing a space where laundry is stored. The laundry treating apparatus further includes an inlet provided in the tub, inserting laundry into the drum. The laundry treating apparatus further includes a support unit provided between the tub and drum to prevent one surface of the tub having the inlet from being bent toward the drum and ejected to the outside of the tub through the inlet.

Lifter and washing machine having the same

Disclosed are a lifter having an improved structure to improve washing performance and a washing machine having the lifter. The washing machine includes a drum and a lifter coupled to the inside of the drum, wherein the lifter is provided in the form of a closed curve in which a space is formed at a central portion thereof.

Laundry machine

A laundry machine includes first and second washing units including first and second tubs, respectively. First and second drums are mounted inside the first and second tubs, and first and second drive units drive rotations of the first and second drums around first and second rotational shafts, respectively. The second washing unit is arranged above the first washing unit and has a smaller laundry treating capacity than the first washing unit. The first rotational shaft is not parallel to the second rotational shaft. A first recess projects downward from a rear lower surface of the second tub and is configured to heat wash water in the second tub. A metal plate member is provided on an outside lower surface of the second tub, and partially extends to the rear of the second tub to expose a bottom surface of the first recess.

EXTENDED TUB FOR A LAUNDRY TREATING APPLIANCE

A laundry treating appliance having a rotatable basket that defines a treating chamber, a tub for mounting the rotatable basket, a drive assembly mounted to the tub for rotating the basket and a drive motor mounted to the tub for driving the drive assembly. The tub has a lower region comprising a central cavity and a second cavity. The drive assembly is nested in the central cavity and the drive motor is nested in the second cavity for reducing the vertical stack of tub and the motor.

STRUCTURAL BLOCK FOR SUPPORTING A ROTATING DRUM WITHIN A LAUNDRY APPLIANCE

A laundry appliance includes a rotating drum that receives laundry to be treated. A motor rotates a drive shaft about a vertical axis and engages the rotating drum at a base. A coupler is disposed within an upper portion of the base and that rests upon the drive shaft to transfer rotational forces from the drive shaft to the drum. A lower portion of the base engages an outer surface of the shaft to resist moment forces that are exerted against the drive shaft in an off-axis direction relative to the vertical axis.
