The apparatus has a simple structure, so a patient can perform acupuncture by himself.
System and method for limiting chemotherapy-induced alopecia
A cold cap adapted for connecting to a chiller unit for circulating chilled fluid through the cap. The cap is formed from at least three layers of material which are sealingly attached around their periphery so as to form a cooling fluid chamber, wherein the cap is configured to apply compression and cooling to the scalp.
METHOD OF STIMULATING HAIR GROWTH
A method of stimulating hair growth on the scalp of a person's head using a device having a handle and a blade means, the method including the steps of: contacting the blade means on a first area of the scalp; moving the blade means in a continuous reciprocating motion on the scalp in a first direction and an opposite second direction for a first period of time to exfoliate skin on the first area, wherein the blade means remains in continuous contact with the scalp during the reciprocating motion until hair growth is detected in the first area.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GENERATING DAMPED ELECTROMAGNETICALLY ACTUATED PLANAR MOTION FOR AUDIO-FREQUENCY VIBRATIONS
A vibration module for applying vibrational tractions to a wearer's skin is presented. Use of the vibration module in headphones is illustrated for providing tactile sensations of low frequency for music, for massage, and for electrical recording and stimulation of the wearer. Damped, planar, electromagnetically-actuated vibration modules of the moving magnet type are presented in theory and reduced to practice, and shown to provide a substantially uniform frequency response over the range 40-200 Hz with a minimum of unwanted audio.
Head massaging cap device
A head massaging cap device for massaging the head includes a shell that is cap shaped. The shell has an inner layer and an outer layer. A compartment is coupled to a front of the shell. A power module is coupled to and positioned in the compartment. A solid state music player is coupled to and positioned in the compartment. A plurality of cooling zones and plurality of heating zones are positioned in the outer layer. A plurality of tracks is positioned on and coupled to an interior surface of the inner layer. The tracks comprise rack gears. Each of a plurality of massage probes is coupled to a respective one of the tracks.
SYSTEM FOR THERMAL AND COMPRESSION THERAPY FOR REDUCTION OF ALOPECIA IN CHEMOTHERAPY PATIENTS AND METHOD OF USE
A system includes a treatment cap assembly and a cooling and compression unit coupled to the treatment cap assembly. The treatment cap assembly comprises a fluid circulating pad configured to circulate a cooling fluid; and a compression hood configured to administer compression to a scalp of an individual wearing the treatment cap assembly. The cooling and compression unit is configured to provide the cooling fluid to the fluid circulating pad and to periodically provide compressed gas to the compression hood. The system can be used in a method that includes administering to an individual a dosage of a chemotherapeutic agent; cooling a scalp of the individual to a temperature of less than about 65? F.; and periodically administering compression to the scalp of the individual during the step of administering the dosage of the chemotherapeutic agent.
Vibration device using sound pressure, and human body stimulation apparatus comprising same
A vibration device for generating vibration using sound pressure includes a cone paper damper generating vibration and a bobbin guiding a voice coil to allow the same to be stably provided. A connection member and a vibration probe are coupled at the center of the upper surface of the cone paper damper and the bobbin. The vibration device directly receives the vibration, which is generated from the cone paper damper, and transmits the vibration to the vibration probe. In addition, a human-body stimulation apparatus includes the vibration device having a cone paper damper for generating vibration and a bobbin for guiding a voice coil to allow the voice coil to be stably provided. The human-body stimulation apparatus receives a sound source using various forms of interfaces for storing or providing the sound source.
AUTOMATIC HAIR WASHING DEVICE
[Object] Provided is an automatic hair washing device configured to achieve a hair washing operation like hair washing by human hand. [Solution] An automatic hair washing device includes a washing part 10. The washing part 10 includes: a cover member 11 having a head holding space 11h where a human head is placed; a plurality of contacts 12 each formed of a rod-shaped member and each disposed on an inner face 11a of the cover member 11 in an axially movable manner; and energization means 20 for energizing the contacts 12 toward the head holding space 11h. The washing part 10 is disposed such that the cover member 11 is movable along the human head. The energization means 20 is configured to energize the contacts 12 toward the head holding space 11h such that the contacts 12 being in contact with the human head apply approximately constant forces to the human head even when the contacts 12 are moved.
