A prescription medicine packaging system includes cells. Each cell stores prescription medicine. Each cell has an opening adapted for access by a user. A cap is aligned over and seals each opening. Each cap includes a first part and a second part that are independent of one another and uniquely identifiable by features thereof. Each of the caps is breached via one of removal and destruction of one of its first part and second part.

A method includes performing, by a processor: providing a database that contains records corresponding to a plurality of drug product packaging systems, the records in the database being accessible through a common database management system, receiving a packaging order for at least one drug product, evaluating at least one criterion for fulfilling the packaging order, and identifying one of the plurality of drug product packaging systems to package the at least one drug product based on evaluating the at least one criterion.

A tablet packaging device capable of shortening operation time required for packaging tablets for one tray. The tablet packaging device includes a packaging portion configured to accommodate tablets dispensed from a dispensing port into a tray. The packaging portion includes: a tray loading unit to which the tray is mountable; a tray unloading unit to which the tray accommodating the tablets is mountable; a tray driving unit, which is configured to removably support the tray, move the supported tray among positions of the dispensing port, the tray loading unit, and the tray unloading unit, and move the desired accommodation recess portion to the dispensing port for tablets; a tray attaching unit configured to attach the tray from the tray loading unit to the tray driving unit; and a tray detaching unit configured to detach the tray from the tray driving unit and place the tray on the tray unloading unit.

The present invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment or prevention of symptoms associated with endocrine disturbances, such as hot flashes. The pharmaceutical compositions comprise a tricyclic amino containing compound of formula (I), such as MSX-122 (also known as “Q-122”) (N,N′-(1,4-phenylenebis(methylene))bis(pyrimidin-2-amine)), and one or more pharmaceutically acceptable excipients. The pharmaceutical compositions may be given in certain doses and/or dosing regimens, preferably twice daily.

A multi-compartment package for dispensing plural items is disclosed. The package includes plural individual sealed compartment units which are releasably secured to each other. Each compartment unit includes a flanged base from which a chamber depends. The chamber serves to hold an item to be dispensed and is surrounded by a flange. A closure member, in the form of a respective portion of a frangible cover sheet, is adhesively secured to the flange of each compartment unit. Each compartment unit includes at least one foldable tab in a corner of its flange, which can be folded down to enable the closure member to be removed from the compartment unit after the compartment unit is separated from other compartment units of the package.

A method and apparatus for Secure Storage and Dispensing of Opioid (SSDO) or other controlled substances while providing remote assistance and monitoring. In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises a motorized medication tray for automatic dispensing of pills with optional blister pack containing sealed medication. The device further comprises of a secure tamper resistant housing mechanism, plurality of sensors along with a wireless communication module to notify the remote operators in case of illegal and unauthorized access. The current invention can be configured into multiple embodiments including but not limited to a mobile wearable device capable of attaching to a person's wrist, arm, foot and other body parts.

There is provided a compliance system and kit for patient compliance over an extended period of time and/or for higher numbers of doses. In one embodiment, several dosage packages are physically connected together to make a kit. Such an arrangement ensures a specific dose taking order across the packages so a patient cannot take doses out of order. There is provided a compliance kit comprising: multiple smart packages in a connected kit, each smart package containing a tag for monitoring each medication dose removed by a user; at least one reader configured to read a signal from each tag of each smart package; and a CPU for receiving data from the at least one reader, the data representing the signal from each tag.

An object container apparatus includes a housing, a sensor sheet, and one or more computer processors coupled to the sensor sheet. The housing comprises one or more interior surfaces forming a cavity. The sensor sheet is positioned within the cavity and comprises one or more arrays of capacitive touch pads. The one or more arrays of capacitive touch pads are arranged substantially parallel to each other in order to form a space within the cavity where an object can be inserted. The one or more computer processors are coupled to the one or more arrays of capacitive touch pads and configured to process capacitance measurements derived from the one or more arrays of capacitive touch pads. The object container apparatus functions to detect an object in the space via processing of capacitance measurements by the one or more computer processors.

A method of monitoring medication regimen with portable apparatus installed with a blister monitoring software for collecting patient compliance data, including one or multiple blister packages, a unique identification code disposed on each package. An embodiment of the invention includes steps of: logging patient into blister monitoring software with personal credential; capturing image of blister package using portable apparatus; analyzing image of blister package and obtaining unique identification code of package; crosschecking patient identity with package identification code to prevent false medication; automatically recording medication time and remaining tablets or capsules inside blister package. The method of the invention prevents false medication and enables doctors and nurses to remotely track patient's progress in real-time, thus increasing medication compliance.
