Prescription medicine packaging system and method for using same to provide range of compliance options
A prescription medicine packaging system includes cells. Each cell stores prescription medicine. Each cell has an opening adapted for access by a user. A cap is aligned over and seals each opening. Each cap includes a first part and a second part that are independent of one another and uniquely identifiable by features thereof. Each of the caps is breached via one of removal and destruction of one of its first part and second part.
Unobtrusive wireless electronic systems for monitoring and facilitating patient compliance
Methods, systems, and devices are disclosed for monitoring the dispensing of a fluid from a container. In one aspect, a system includes a conformal substrate including a mechanically flexible and an electrically insulative material, the substrate attached and conformed to a container containing a fluid; a data acquisition unit including a sensor and a signal processing circuit formed on the conformal substrate, in which the sensor transduces an occurrence of the fluid dispensing from the container into an electrical signal, and the signal processing circuit amplifies the electrical signal; a data processing unit formed on the conformal substrate and in communication with the data acquisition unit to process the amplified electrical signal as data; and a communications unit formed on the conformal substrate and in communication with the data processing unit to wirelessly transmit the processed data to a remote device.
Circuit Assemblies and Components Thereof for Packaging
A circuit assembly includes a flexible card having a main panel and an extension panel foldably connected along a fold line and a card circuit disposed on the flexible card and having one or more contact points disposed proximate the fold line, and a circuit board having one or more electrical contacts formed on a surface of the circuit board. The flexible card and the circuit board can be disposed in face-to-face contact with each contact point of the card circuit is in registry with a respective electrical contact of the circuit board, with the extension panel folded at the fold line over the circuit board. The assembly includes a clip disposed over the folded extension panel and main panel to apply a sandwiching force to secure the circuit board and the card circuit in electrical contact.
PRODUCT PACKAGING WITH HEAT SEALABLE BARRIER MATERIAL
A package that is suitable for packaging an article for collecting or administering a pharmaceutical active substance is disclosed. The package includes a first packaging component that includes a product-contacting sealant layer that includes a first ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer. The package includes a second packaging component that includes a product-contacting sealant layer that includes a second ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer. The ethylene content of the second ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer is equal to or less than about 38 percent and the ethylene content of the first ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer is greater than the ethylene content of the second ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer.
Density flow meter for pharmaceutical formulation dosing
Provided are systems and method for dosing a pharmaceutical formulation. These methods and systems can displace the pharmaceutical formulation through a density flow meter, wherein the density flow meter is configured to measure a density of the pharmaceutical formulation. Next, the pharmaceutical formulation can be dosed into preformed molds and the dosing process can be stopped when the density of the pharmaceutical formulation measured by the density flow meter is below a predetermined threshold.
Pharmaceutical compositions of dimethyl fumarate
Pharmaceutical compositions and dosage forms of dimethyl fumarate containing low levels of certain impurities are disclosed.
Layered multiple single-dose medication systems and assemblies
Devices, assemblies, and methods for arranging and dispensing medication are shown and described. In one embodiment, a medication dispensing assembly includes a first single dose tray having a plurality of dosage complexes and a first label face, and at least a second single dose tray having a plurality of dosage complexes and a second label face. Each dosage complex has a unitary blister pocket adjacent to an L-shaped opening. In other embodiments, a single dose medication tray includes a label platform and a plurality of dosage complex groupings. The result is devices and methods to orient and dispense individually packaged medications.
TREATMENT OF DISORDERS WITH TASIMELTEON
Tasimelteon improves sleep in individuals experiencing an advance in established bedtime.
Printed support structure
An example device includes at least one three-dimensional (3D) printed tablet and a 3D-printed production support structure. Each 3D-printed tablet includes an excipient material and an active ingredient. The 3D-printed support structure includes a 3D-printed planar structure comprising the excipient material and at least one 3D-printed connecting member comprising the excipient material. The planar structure includes at least one aperture, each aperture corresponding to one of the at least one 3D-printed tablet. The connecting member detachably connects the at least one 3D-printed tablet with the 3D-printed planar structure and positions the at least one 3D-printed tablets within the apertures.
Device for monitoring the use of blister packaged contents at a distance
There is provided a device for monitoring the use of a blister package, strip package, vial or bottle contents at a distance. A processor is connected to a compact random or quasi-random n-microphone array and is programmed to detect the sound of the content being expelled from a blister cavity, strip package, or a cap being removed from a vial or bottle. A content use data memory associated with the processor stores information relating to the expulsion or removal events. The processor is equipped with statistical means for differentiating the sound of the content being expelled, from the background noise, generating an electrical signal that is analyzed for relevance to content use events by the processor, and storing the resulting use data in memory. The processor may have an adaptive beam focussing algorithm to determine the direction of the source of the sound.
