METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR RELEASING A PILL
The present disclosure provides methods and systems for managing medications by releasing them on a controlled access or schedule. The methods and systems may comprise the use of a pill release device. The pill release device may comprise a substrate comprising one or more containers, a cover configured to rest adjacent to one or more walls of the container, a fluid source in fluid communication with the cover, and circuitry operably coupled to the fluid source. The circuitry may send one or more electrical signals which may cause the fluid source to move a fluid to or away from the cover. The movement of the fluid may seal or unseal the over against the one or more walls, which may permit the pill to be received by or dispensed from the container.
MEDICATION SUPPORT APPARATUS AND MEDICATION SUPPORT SYSTEM
A medication support apparatus includes a storage, a medicine delivery part, an extraction device, a transfer device, a pack information reader, and processing circuitry. The storage stores a medicine pack with first medication-related information. The medicine pack is arranged at a specific position in the delivery part. The extraction device extracts the medicine pack from the storage. The transfer device transfers the medicine pack extracted from the storage to the specific position in the delivery part. The pack information reader reads the first medication-related information before the transfer device transfers the medicine pack extracted from the storage to the specific position in the delivery part. The processing circuitry manages second medication-related information of the medicine pack, and compares the first medication-related information read by the pack information reader with the second medication-related information to determine whether medication-related information matches between the first medication-related information and the second medication-related information.
BLISTER PACK DEVICE AND METHOD
A container forming apparatus includes a plurality of forming members that have outer forming surfaces, which are shaped to form pockets in a sheet of material. A plurality of actuators are in mechanical connection with the forming members. The actuators are able to extend and retract the forming members. A controller is in electrical communication with the plurality of actuators. The controller is able to simultaneously extend any one or any combination of the forming members to create a plurality of pockets in a determined pattern in the sheet of material to produce a customized blister pack.
Packing material, method for producing packing material, reading device, stored-article management system, disconnection detection device, unsealing detection label, and unsealing detection system
A package in an aspect of the present invention includes: a package body having a receiving cavity for receiving a cavity item; a sheet for sealing the receiving cavity; a conducting wire formed on the sheet so as to pass above the sealed opening portion of the receiving cavity; and a wireless communication device formed on the sheet so as to be connected to the conducting wire. The wireless communication device transmits a signal including information which differs between before and after the conducting wire together with the sheet is cut as a result of opening the receiving cavity. The information transmitted from the wireless communication device is read by a reader. The package and the reader are used for a cavity item management system.
Portable, reusable medication dispensing assembly which has communication capability to improve medication adherence
A portable, reusable medication dispensing assembly which has communication capability to improve medication adherence is disclosed. An electromechanical apparatus sequentially delivers dosage form packages from a compartment in a housing to a dose-ready area in the housing. A microprocessor-based controller is reprogrammable with contact and prescription data. The controller controls the electromechanical apparatus to sequentially deliver the dosage form packages at prescribed times or time intervals to the dose-ready area based on the prescription data. The controller generates and stores a set of event data based on when the dosage form packages are ready to be released in the dose-ready area and whether and when the dosage form packages have been released in the dose-ready area. Communication apparatus is capable of wirelessly transmitting the event data via a publicly-accessible network to a remote database and to wirelessly transmit event notifications via the network based on the prescription and contact data.
STORAGE CONTAINER FOR A STORAGE AND DISPENSING STATION
A storage container for a storage and dispensing station for drugs is provided. The storage container includes a housing surrounding a holding space which housing has a guide section and a bottom surface, the guide section defining a guide space and having a vertical guide recess, which does not penetrate the housing, and the bottom surface having a dispensing opening. The storage container includes a separating device having at least one channel for holding at least one drug portion and comprises a retaining element having a retaining section and having a guide element, which is arranged in the guide recess, the vertical guide recess and the guide element interacting in such a way that the retaining element is arranged for height adjustment in the guide recess by means of the guide element and rotational motion of the retaining means is prevented.
Method of protecting security elements from heat degradation during a heat-sealing process
A blister pack includes a housing having a plurality of cavities and a cover sealed to the housing and enclosing the cavities. The cover includes a base layer, at least one security element, and a heat protection layer. The heat protection layer includes one of an amorphous polymer and a semi-crystalline polymer.
METHYLTHIONINIUM AS ENHANCERS OF THE COGNITIVE FUNCTION
The present invention relates generally to nootropic compositions comprising Leuco-methylthioninium acid salts and their uses for cognitive enhancement in normal (non-demented) individuals.
MEDICAMENT DISPENSING SYSTEM AND DISPENSING METHOD
A dispensing system (2) and method for dispensing unit dosage forms (38) from a blister pack (30) is disclosed. The system (2) comprises a housing (4) for receiving a blister pack (30), the blister pack (30) having a plurality of cavities (32) with at least one unit dosage form (38) sealed in each of the cavities (32), the housing (4) comprising at least one housing aperture. The system (2) also comprises a sensing layer comprising a plurality of apertures, each sensing layer aperture configured to substantially align with a corresponding one or more of the plurality of cavities (32) of the blister pack (30) when a blister pack (30) is received in the housing (4) and at least one sensing region. The system (2) further comprises an electronics unit and a power source for providing voltage to the sensing layer. In use, the unit dosage forms (38) are dispensed from the blister pack (30) through the sensing layer apertures and through the at least one housing aperture, for example by application of pressure (P) upon each cavity (32), and the sensing layer senses each unit dosage form (38) being dispensed from the blister pack (30).
