POLYACRYLONITRILE BASED ELECTROSPUN NANOFIBERS LOADED WITH ZINC OXIDE- QUERCETIN NANOPARTICLES FOR WOUND HEALING
Chronic wounds are medical care concern and severe clinical challenge worldwide. A nanofiber based new wound dressing scaffold and a method of developing thereof for treating diabetic wounds is described here. More specifically, the present invention relates to the preparation of biocompatible Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) nanofiber scaffold comprising of Quercetin, Zinc oxide and polyacrylonitrile by electrospinning. The nanofibers formed has the average diameter of approximately 160 nm and show excellent antibacterial and wound healing potentials.
WOUND CARE ARTICLES
Single layer and multi-layer anti-microbial wound care masks having a hydrophilic yarn containing silver and wound care articles are disclosed.
Fibers and Yarns with Blocking Function
A polymer composition comprising a polymer and at least one active substance selected from the group consisting of a substance generating an occlusion, in particular a substance generating an internal occlusion or a substance generating an external occlusion; a moisturizing substance; a substance reducing pain or itching; and mixtures of these.
HERNIA REPAIR DEVICE AND METHODS
An improved abdominal hernia repair system is presented comprised of a silicone layer backed up with a knitted or woven polypropylene fabric layer, the silicone layer possessing a regular pattern of slits that permit equilibration of fluid pressure across the device. A variety of therapeutic substances can be applied to the hernia repair device to promote healing, including aloe and other medicinal preparations. A layer of water soluble or water insoluble anti-scar compound is also present, the preferred compound being Salinomycin.
An improved inguinal hernia repair system is presented that is identical to the above except it does not contain the hydrophobic silicone component.
PORTABLE ELECTROSPINNING DEVICE
A handheld device for producing electrospun fibrous mat comprises: a housing configured to be handheld by a user; a container accommodating at least one electrospinning medium; at least a nozzle in fluid communication with the container; a mechanism dispensing the medium from the container via said nozzle; an auxiliary electrode surrounding the nozzle; and a power supply providing electric potentials to the nozzle and the auxiliary electrode. The housing comprises an electrically conductive portion configured to be gripped by the user during operation. The electrically conductive portion is connected to the power supply.
MEDICAL GAUZE
Medical gauze includes a warp knitted fabric having a warp and weft direction and composed of loops continued in the warp direction. The warp knitted fabric is made of 100% long fiber containing 70% by weight or more of regenerated cellulose-based long fiber. The warp knitted fabric is preferably configured in a marquisette construction. The regenerated cellulose-based long fiber is preferably cuprammonium rayon. Preferably having a width of equal to or greater than 5 mm and equal to or less than 600 mm, and a weight of equal to or greater than 28 g and equal to or less than 290 g per square meter. As the warp knitted fabric is composed of the loops continued in the warp direction and made of 100% long fiber containing 70% by weight or more of the regenerated cellulose-based long fiber, the occurrence of lint can be reduced to improve lint-free performance.
Apparatus for applying a treatment solution to a treatment site
An applicator is disclosed for applying a treatment solution to a treatment site of a patient. The applicator can include an applicator housing comprising a treatment solution reservoir. A cartridge can be removably disposed in the housing. The cartridge when arranged in the housing can be in fluid communication with the treatment solution reservoir. The cartridge can include an electrostatic module for electrostatically charging the treatment solution in the treatment solution reservoir; and a nozzle for applying the treatment solution.
DRUG-LOADED NANOFIBER MEMBRANE, METHOD FOR PREPARING THE SAME, AND APPLICATION THEREOF
A drug-loaded nanofiber membrane includes a first fiber, a second fiber, and a drug. The drug is dispersed into the first fiber. The first fiber includes poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) copolymer (PLGA copolymer), and the second fiber includes poly(p-dioxanone) (PDO).
Medical fibrous structure comprising calcium carboxymethyl cellulose and chitosan compound and process for preparing the same
Disclosed are a medical fiberous structure and a method for preparing the same, wherein the medical fiberous structure comprises calcium carboxymethyl cellulose and a chitosan compound, at least one of the calcium carboxymethyl cellulose and the chitosan compound having a fibrous shape.
