Stabilized woven seam for flat-weave endless fabric belts

An endless fabric belt for use in a paper, cardboard or tissue machine has machine-direction threads and cross-machine-direction threads. At least part of the threads are yarns composed substantially of a thermoplastic polymer material which is transparent for light of a wavelength. The fabric belt is a flat-weave with two front-side ends that are subsequently connected by bringing together end sections of the machine-direction threads in pairs with the formation of junction points and are woven with cross-machine-direction threads, forming a seam region. A material-to-material bond is formed in the seam region by absorbing light at the wavelength at yarn contact points. In the seam region, a plurality of spaced-apart, strip-shaped fabric sections are formed, in which the junction points and the yarn contact points which are connected to one another are arranged, and one strip-shaped fabric section without junction points is formed between two immediately adjacent fabric sections having the junction points.

A clothing for a machine producing and/or processing a fibrous web extending in longitudinal and widthwise directions, includes a basic structure providing dimensional stability in longitudinal and/or widthwise directions. The structure includes a band-shaped, one-piece grid having widthwise-adjacent first material strands and polymer material having lengths in a longitudinal direction, and adjacent second interconnected material strands and/or droplets and polymer material, contacting the first strands at contact points forming the grid. The strands and/or droplets are deposited by extrusion of the polymer materials in liquid or pasty state onto a depositing surface forming a portion or all of the grid in liquid or pasty state, the polymer materials are solidified, converting the portion or the grid from liquid or pasty to solidified, stable, self-supporting state producing bonding at the contact points, and removing the portion or the grid from the surface.

An industrial textile for use in a fibrous web forming and/or processing machine has a transversal edge section which can be joined together to render the textile endless. MD-yarns are interwoven with CD-yarns. At least two adjacent MD-yarns form a group, the MD-yarns of each MD-yarn group weaving side-by-side the same weave path with the CD-yarns. Each of the MD-yarn groups has adjacent first and second MD-yarns. The first MD-yarn of a MD-yarn group is non-adjacent the first MD-yarn of an adjacent MD-yarn group and the second MD-yarn of said MD-yarn group is non-adjacent the second MD-yarn of the adjacent MD-yarn group. At each transversal edge section the first MD-yarn of a first MD-yarn group forms a first loop and weaves back into the weave path of the first MD-yarn of a second MD-yarn group. The second MD-yarn group is adjacent the first MD-yarn group.

A seaming element for an industrial textile, and methods of manufacture. The seaming element body is constructed from a single layer of polymeric film that is folded to provide a fold region and arms that comprise a first region, and a further second region. The first region is bonded to surfaces of an edge region of the textile, while the second region comprises a plurality of spaced-apart aligned protrusions extending from the first region, each protrusion comprising an interior space defined by an upper layer; a lower layer; and a loop at the fold region that connects the upper and lower layers. The interior space is divided into an outer securing region and an inner securing region by either a rib member placed between and bonded to an inner surface of at least one of the upper and lower layer, or by bonding a portion of the upper layer with a portion of the lower layer at a constriction zone. The outer securing region is interdigitatable and alignable with the inner securing region of a corresponding second seaming element bonded to another region of the textile, to define a first channel; and the inner securing region is interdigitatable and alignable with the outer securing region of the corresponding second seaming element, to define a second channel. A securing element is placed in the two channels.

Nonwoven double layer industrial textiles comprising a plurality of interconnected selectively slit and profiled folded panels formed from suitable sheet or film materials. Each panel includes two fold regions having an array of slots and seaming loops. The folded panel is formed by folding each fold region toward the panel body, thereby providing seam loops and seam loop receiving openings, which are used to connect adjacent folded panels in a given layer of the textile. Two such layers are bonded together in overlapping relation such that outside free edges of any of the fold regions are returned and sealed interior to the double layer. Further panels composed of heat or wear resistant material can be connected to lateral outside edges of panels forming the textile.

Non-woven double layer industrial textiles comprising a plurality of interconnected selectively slit and profiled panels formed from suitable sheet or film materials. Each panel includes two fold regions at each end. Each fold region has an array of slots and strips which form hem loops and hem loop-receiving openings by folding each region beneath and toward the panel body. The panel further includes two seam regions at a central portion of the panel, which when folded, provide seam loops and seam loop receiving openings. Outside free edges of the end fold regions are returned and sealed interior to the double layer so as to avoid fraying of free ends. Each seam region of the folded panel is interconnectable with the corresponding seam region of adjacent similar folded panels by means of a seam connecting member. Additional panels composed of heat- or wear-resistant material can be connected to lateral outside edges of panels forming the textile.

The fabric has a flat woven base material having a top side and a bottom side, two terminal ends separated in a machine direction. Folds are formed in the flat woven base material separated in the machine direction, whereby the two terminal ends are located under the bottom side surface. The two terminal ends are arranged adjacent to each other or they overlap each other. Seam loops are located at the folds. The novel fabric has at least one woven component, that is a multi-layer weave, especially a two-layer weave.

A fabric belt for producing a corrugated cardboard web in a corrugated cardboard machine is joined together at the two ends thereof to produce an endless belt. An outer paper side facing the corrugated cardboard web and an inner load side assigned to the drive are formed. Connecting pieces to connect the belt ends have in each case at one end transversely with respect to the belt clips lying next to one another at a spacing, and are fixed at an opposite end with a connection section at the associated belt end. In the longitudinal direction of the belt, the clips of one connecting piece interact in a force-transmitting manner with the clips of the other connecting piece. The connection section of a connecting piece is held in a receiving gap of the belt that, starting from the belt end, extends between the paper side and the load side.

A method for thermally fixing a seam loop of a basic structure for a paper machine clothing, such as a seam felt of a paper machine. A flat fabric is provided with longitudinal threads and transverse threads. The flat fabric may have passed through a first thermal fixing process. The flat fabric is folded at at least one folding point to form a two-ply structure and to form a seam loop at the folding point. An electrically conductive pintle wire is inserted into the seam loop and the electrically conductive wire is heated by applying a voltage for thermally fixing the seam loop and for improving a structure of the seam loop.
