Nipple Shield with Port and Flap-Covered Channel to Supplement Lactation During Breastfeeding
Nipple shields can be used by breastfeeding mothers to facilitate the feeding process. The disclosed embodiments relate to nipple shields with a port through which liquid supplement can flow from a supply tube into an interior section of the shield. The liquid supplement can be drawn through ports in a tip of the shield in order to augment a naturally expressed flow of milk. A flap of material is bonded to an interior portion of the nipple shield over an optional channel formed in the interior portion so as to form a closed, flap-covered channel leading from an input port on a lower portion of the shield to a an interior location near the tip of the shield.
Systems and methods for tubing delivery
Connector assembly (FIG. 4a) includes a shell (210), a connector body (230), and a plug (250). The shell (210) has a sidewall (212) defining an interior, a first shell end having a first opening (214) defined therein, and a second shell end having a second opening (216) defined therein, each of the first (214) and second openings (216) in communication with the interior to receive percutaneous tubing therethrough, the shell (210) further having an engagement portion. The connector body (230) has a first body end (234) and a second body end (236) with a tube lumen defined therethrough, the first body end (234) having a connector tip (237), the connector body (230) having an engaging portion to engage the engagement portion of the shell (210). The plug (250) has a first plug end and a second plug end with a fluid lumen defined therethrough, the first plug end having a plug tip (257) extending therefrom.
Respiratory mask with nasogastric tube path
A respiratory mask can be used to provide therapy to patients who also require a nasogastric (NG) tube. The mask seal can include a path that is designed to deform around an NG tube or other without lifting the mask away from a patient's face. The deforming path can help to minimize gaps that form between the patient's face and the mask seal as a result of the tube, thus reducing leaks and improving the efficacy of the treatment.
Medical support for delivery of a treatment to the nose
The present invention provides a wearable medical support for delivery of a treatment to the nose of a subject comprising: a nose mask formed from a heat moldable sheet of thermoplastic material, said nose mask comprises an aperture dimensioned to fit the nose of the subject, said aperture is flanked by two flaps whereby each flap is configured to be in contact with at least part of a lateral side of the nose; and a device configured to close fit said aperture, said device is provided at one end with an opening for receiving the nose and at the other end with at least one coupling suitable to be connected to one or more tubes for delivery of the treatment to the nose. The present invention further provides a sheet of heat moldable thermoplastic material for molding a mask directly on a subject's nose.
Catheter fixture
Provided is a catheter fixture. The catheter fixture includes: a base plate having a base hole for passing a catheter; and a fixture body formed on a top of the base plate, and the fixture body having a first guide hole connected to the base hole, extending in an open direction of the base hole, and guiding the catheter and a second guide hole extending in a different direction from the first guide hole and guiding the catheter. Since the first guide hole and the second guide hole are formed in different directions in the catheter fixture, a user can extend the catheter in different directions if necessary. Accordingly, it is possible to more stably and simply prevent backflow of food or medicine, using one catheter fixture without a specific component.
CONNECTORS FOR INFUSION PUMP FEEDING SETS
Improved feeding set connectors and cassettes are disclosed for use with peristaltic infusion pumps for safely delivering enteral nutritional fluids to a patient. The connectors provide an easy to use pump-to-set integration or keying system for specific reusable infusion pumps and their matching feeding sets, and can be utilized by medical professionals having various skill levels. The inventive feeding set cassettes can prevent accidental free flow of enteral fluids into a patient, even upon inadvertent release of the connector from the pumping mechanism.
STRAPLESS NASAL INTERFACE DEVICE
A nasal interface device is configured to be positioned about a user's nose. The nasal interface device includes an air supply interface including first and second attachment surfaces, a bendable metallic member including a bridge portion between first and second ends, an adhesive secured to an underside of the bendable metallic member, a first elastic member, and a second elastic member. The bridge portion compresses downward over the nasal bone of the bridge of the user's nose and the bendable metallic member compresses downward toward the first and second sides of the user's nose during use. The first and second elastic members are adjustable in position on the bendable metallic member and on the air supply interface body. The first and second elastic members are pulled taut to form a seal where the air supply interface body meets the user's nose.
Adjustable Feeding Tube Holder
An adjustable feeding tube holder. The adjustable feeding tube holder includes an elongated rod member having a clamp head affixed to one end and a connection member affixed to the second end. A second clamp member is disposed along, and slidably engaged to, the elongated rod member such that the second clamp member can be manually positioned along the rod member via a trigger handle. The clamp head and the second clamp member are configured to removably attached the device to a chose surface such as a wheelchair, bed rail, or table. The first connection member is rotatably connected to the elongated rod. A second connection member having a tube holder on an end thereon is rotatably and slidably connected to the first connection member. The tube holder configured to receive a feeding tube therein.
APPARATUS FOR FLUID DELIVERY AND LACTATION STIMULATION
A supplemental nutrition apparatus is disclosed herein. The supplemental nutrition apparatus may comprise a reservoir coupled to and in fluid communication with a fluid passageway, wherein the fluid passageway is configured to communicate fluid from the reservoir to a fluid passageway outlet, and a support element configured to engage a user, to at least partially support the fluid passageway, and to position the fluid passageway outlet proximate to the user's nipple.
TUBE SECUREMENT SYSTEM
The invention relates to systems for securing a tube (e.g. feeding tube) and/or a patient interface or a dermal patch to a user. One embodiment comprises a holder, an interface side of the holder attachable to the patient interface or the dermal patch for securing a feeding tube to the patient interface or the patch, the holder comprising at least a first channel or recess for receiving the feeding tube to couple the feeding tube to the patient interface.
