Tube securement system
The invention relates to systems for securing a tube (e.g. feeding tube) and/or a patient interface or a dermal patch to a user. One embodiment comprises a holder, an interface side of the holder attachable to the patient interface or the dermal patch for securing a feeding tube to the patient interface or the patch, the holder comprising at least a first channel or recess for receiving the feeding tube to couple the feeding tube to the patient interface. Another embodiment comprises a patient interface itself comprising a backing for positioning on a patient's face, a dermal patch having a patient side and an interface side, the patient side of the patch attachable to the user, the patch comprising at least a first flap portion attachable to the tube for affixing the tube to the patch, a two-part releasable connection arrangement for releasably securing the patient interface to the patch.
Strapless nasal interface device
A nasal interface device configured to be positioned about a user's nose includes an air supply interface body including an air supply opening, at least one nasal opening, and first and second side slots and first and second elastic members extending through the first and second side slots, respectively, on the air supply interface body. Each of the first and second elastic members includes first and second adhesive means on an outer end thereof distal from the air supply interface body. The nasal interface device includes a bendable metallic member including a bridge portion between first and second ends, wherein the first and second elastic members attach to the first and second ends of the bendable metallic member, respectively.
Disposable clip/clamp for use in securing an orogastric feeding tube to an endotracheal tube and methods of making and using same
A stabilization clip for use in securing an orogastric feeding tube to an endotracheal tube, including a base having a first end and a second end, wherein the base includes an orogastric feeding tube holder and an endotracheal tube holder such that the endotracheal tube holder is located adjacent to the orogastric feeding tube holder, a hinge operatively connected to a first end of the base, a flexible arm having a first end and a second end such that the first end of the flexible arm is operatively connected to the hinge, a locking mechanism located on the second end of the base, and an extension located on the second end of the flexible arm, wherein when the extension is located within the locking mechanism, the clip secures the orogastric feeding tube to the endotracheal tube.
Sump port drain adapter
A sump port drain adapter apparatus is disclosed which provides a small, lightweight vessel to capture and collect gastric reflux or stomach contents exiting the smaller lumen, or sump line, of a double lumen nasogastric tube while providing airflow to the sump line to prevent the nasogastric tube from adhering to the stomach lining. The apparatus disclosed prevents clogging in the sump line, unnecessary patient gown and bedding changes, patient skin breakdown and decreases exposure to potentially infectious material for both the patient and healthcare workers.
Safety clasp and garment clip
Various embodiments of the present technology are directed to a safety clasp (10) including a clasp base (22); a securing element (32) with a sharp end (33), a piercing section (34) and a support (36); and a clasp body (12) including first and second body sections (12A, 12B) and a recess (13) defined therebetween, the body being adjustable relative to the clasp base and the securing element such that in an open configuration the recess is clear and only the first body section houses the sharp end and in a closed configuration the piercing section bridges the recess and only the second section houses the sharp end. Various embodiments of the present technology are directed to a garment clip (100) including such a safety clasp.
FEMALE CONNECTOR
A female connector (1) is connectable to a male connector (100) including a cylindrical male member (921). The female connector (1) includes: a tubular portion (11) having a hollow circular cylindrical shape to which the male member (921) is insertable; and a cylindrical portion (17) having a hollow circular cylindrical shape that is coaxial with the tubular portion (11) and surrounded by the tubular portion (11). When the male member (921) is inserted into the tubular portion (11), a liquid-tight seal (19) is formed between the cylindrical portion (17) and the male member (921), and the cylindrical portion (17) and the male member (921) communicate with each other.
Gastric port system
A gastric port system for transport of materials to the interior of a body cavity that may include a port configured to be disposed between a first body cavity and an area adjacent to the first body cavity. The gastric port system may further include a first bolster disposed on the port where the first bolster includes a magnet, and a second bolster disposed on the port where the second bolster includes a magnet, and the magnets are attracted to each other.
STABILIZATION DEVICES FOR USE WITH LOW-PROFILE FEEDING DEVICES AND RELATED METHODS OF USING THE SAME
A stabilization device for a low-profile feeding device may include a pad and a stabilizer body. The low-profile feeding device may have a tube, an external bolster, and an internal bolster. The pad may include an opening extending from a top surface to a bottom surface thereof and configured for receiving the tube therethrough. The stabilizer body may be fixedly attached to the top surface of the pad and configured for extending over the external bolster. The stabilizer body may include a cavity configured for receiving a base portion of the external bolster therein, an opening extending from the cavity to a top surface of the stabilizer body and configured for allowing access to an access port of the external bolster, and a slit extending from the top surface toward a bottom surface of the stabilizer body and from the opening to a first end of the stabilizer body.
Nipple shield with port and flap-covered channel to supplement lactation during breastfeeding
Nipple shields can be used by breastfeeding mothers to facilitate the feeding process. The disclosed embodiments relate to nipple shields with a port through which liquid supplement can flow from a supply tube into an interior section of the shield. The liquid supplement can be drawn through ports in a tip of the shield in order to augment a naturally expressed flow of milk. A flap of material is bonded to an interior portion of the nipple shield over an optional channel formed in the interior portion so as to form a closed, flap-covered channel leading from an input port on a lower portion of the shield to a an interior location near the tip of the shield.
