Fixed carbon fiber bundle and method for producing fixed carbon fiber bundle
The present invention provides a fixed carbon fiber bundle to which a fixing agent is adhered, wherein the fixing agent adheres to an area comprising at least 50% of at least one side of a carbon fiber bundle, the average thickness of the fixed carbon fiber bundle is 180 ?m or less, and the separated fiber tear load is 0.02N to 1.00N.
Heat curable composite textile
A heat curable, circular knitted fabric includes reinforcing and meltable resin fibers that can be cured to form a more rigid material form. In one embodiment, the fabric includes a core spun yarn, wherein the core may be made from glass, carbon, basalt, aramid or metal. The wrap surrounding the core may include resin type fibers such as Poly(p-phenylene sulfide) PPS, Polyetherimide (PEI), Polyether ether ketone (PEEK), Polysulfone (PES), Polyphthalamide (PPA), nylon, polyester, or polypropylene.
FABRIC AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
The present disclosure provides a fabric including at least one interlaced thermoplastic yarn. The fabric includes a first region and a second region. At least a portion of the thermoplastic yarn in the first region is fused together, and the thermoplastic yarn in the second region is not fused.
Systems and methods for controlling carbon tow width
A technique allowing a portion of carbon fiber tow to maintain a rectangular cross sectional shape or to maintain an imparted desired shape, such as a wider shape with a rectangular cross-sectional profile, through a textile loom is disclosed herein.
ELECTRONICALLY FUNCTIONAL YARN AND TEXTILE
A yarn adaptable to incorporation into a textile comprises a core including one or more electrically conductive traces arranged on the core and distributed over at least a portion of the length of the yarn. The yarn also comprises an electrically contactable terminal arranged at a terminus of the one or more conductive traces and a winding wrapped around the core.
COMPOSITE YARN, FABRIC THEREOF AND BRASSIERE
A fabric includes an inner textile layer, an outer textile layer, and a middle textile layer. The inner textile layer includes a plurality of microfiber yarns and a plurality of elastic fiber yarns. The outer textile layer includes a plurality of composite yarns. The middle textile layer is between the inner textile layer and the outer textile layer and has a plurality of wave-like polyester fiber yarns. Further, the outer textile layer includes a first weaving region and a second weaving region. The content of the composite yarns in the first weaving region is greater than the content of the composite yarns in the second weaving region.
APPAREL AND OTHER PRODUCTS INCORPORATING A THERMOPLASTIC POLYMER MATERIAL
A yarn or thread may include a plurality of substantially aligned filaments, with at least ninety-five percent of a material of the filaments being a thermoplastic polymer material. Various woven textiles and knitted textiles may be formed from the yarn or thread. The woven textiles or knitted textiles may be thermal bonded to other elements to form seams. A strand that is at least partially formed from a thermoplastic polymer material may extend through the seam, and the strand may be thermal bonded at the seam. The woven textiles or knitted textiles may be shaped or molded, incorporated into products, and recycled to form other products.
Braided Composite Products Comprising Thermoplastic Material
A braided carbon structure and methods of forming and processing are presented. The braided carbon structure comprises axial tows comprising carbon filaments; braid tows at a braid angle relative to the axial tows, the braid tows comprising carbon filaments; and thermoplastic material within at least one of the axial tows or the braid tows, wherein the thermoplastic material makes up less than 40 of each of the at least one of the axial tows or the braid tows.
COMPOSITE YARN AND ITS MANUFACTURE
A method of manufacturing comingled yarn of carbon and thermofusible fibres comprises the steps of: feeding a tow of thermofusible fibres from a spool to a blending roller and between the spool and the blending roller, spreading the thermofusible tow; feeding a tow of carbon fibres from a spool to the blending roller; spreading the carbon fibre tow between the spool and the blending roller by applying a flow of air over the tow to urge the tow against a supporting surface over which the carbon fibres pass on their way to the blending roller; combining the thermofusible and carbon fibre tows at the blending roller.
METHODS OF JOINING TEXTILES AND OTHER ELEMENTS INCORPORATING A THERMOPLASTIC POLYMER MATERIAL
