CORE-SHEATH FIBERS, NONWOVEN FIBROUS WEB, AND RESPIRATOR INCLUDING THE SAME
A thermoplastic core-sheath fiber comprises: a polymer fiber core having a coextensive sheath layer disposed thereon, and an electrostatic charge enhancing additive. The sheath layer may comprise poly(4-methyl-1-pentene) and the fiber core and the sheath layer have different compositions. At least one of the fiber core or the sheath layer comprises an electret charge. A nonwoven fibrous web comprising the core-sheath fibers and a respirator including the nonwoven fibrous web are also disclosed.

Biodegradable textiles, masterbatches, and method of making biodegradable fibers
A masterbatch is disclosed, along with associated methods, and biodegradable filaments, fibers, yarns and fabrics. The masterbatch includes 0.2 to 5 mass % CaCO.sub.3, an aliphatic polyester with a repeat unit having from two to six carbons in the chain between ester groups, with the proviso that the 2 to 6 carbons in the chain do not include side chain carbons, and a carrier polymer selected from the group consisting of PET, nylon, other thermoplastic polymers, and combinations thereof.
HIGH PARTICLE CAPTURE MOISTURE ABSORBING FABRIC
A gas filtering medium is composed of hydrophobic polyester fiber as from 20-80% by total weight of textile fibers and 80-20% by total weight of hydrophilic textile fibers and a microfibrillated cellulose fiber in a weight/weight ratio of 1.5-8.5/100 parts by weight of total textile fiber.

Nonwoven fabric and process for forming the same
A nonwoven fabric having polylactic acid-containing fibers forming a nonwoven web is provided. The web has a side having an alternating pattern of individualized bonded areas which bonded areas define rods arranged in the cross direction of the web. The rods are arranged so that in the machine direction of the web no uninterrupted regions exist along the web while in the cross direction the arrangement of rods defines uninterrupted regions that extend continuously along the web, the alternating pattern of individualized bonded areas defines a non-bonded area. The web has a basis weight from 5-50 g/m.sup.2, the surface of the bonded areas is from 5-20% of the total surface of the side, and the surface of the non-bonded area is from 80-95% of the total surface of the side. Processes for forming the nonwoven fabric and an absorbent article including the nonwoven fabric are also provided.
