Some embodiments relate to a roofing material. The roofing material comprises a substrate, and a coating on the substrate. The coating comprises at least a polymer A, a polymer B, and at least one filler. The polymer A, the polymer B, the at least one filler are present in an amount sufficient to result in the coating having: A) a Tear CD property of at least 1000 g-f; and B) at least one of an interpenetrating polymer network, a semi-interpenetrating polymer network, or any combination thereof. Other embodiments relate to additional roofing materials, methods for preparing roofing materials, and the like.
FIBER MAT, METHOD OF MAKING THE FIBER MAT, AND BITUMINOUS ROOFING PRODUCT
A fiber mat includes an assembly of fibers including a minority portion including a set of polymer fibers and a majority portion including a set of fibers different than the minority portion, wherein the minority portion is a plane parallel to a plane of the majority portion of the assembly of fibers; and a binder including an organic resin, wherein an air permeability of said fiber mat is not substantially different from an equivalent weight fiber mat containing a homogenous mat structure and wherein the fiber mat provides at least a 5% increase in tear when placed in a bituminous roofing product compared to an equivalent bituminous roofing product made with the equivalent weight fiber mat containing the homogenous mat structure.
PANEL FOR FORMING A FLOOR COVERING, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SUCH PANELS AND GRANULATE APPLIED HEREWITH
A panel for forming a floor covering has a substrate including at least a layer of thermoplastic material, where the panel, above the layer, has at least also a printed decor and a translucent or transparent wear layer. The layer also includes at least individual fibers having a length greater than 1 millimeter, where the individual fibers are loose and freely distributed with the layer of thermoplastic material.
Panel for forming a floor covering, method for manufacturing such panels and granulate applied herewith
A panel for forming a floor covering, where this panel includes a substrate including at least a layer of thermoplastic material, where the panel, above the layer, comprises at least also a printed décor and a translucent or transparent wear layer. The layer also includes at least individual fibers having a length greater than 1 millimeter, where the individual fibers are loose and freely distributed within the layer of thermoplastic material.
B-STAGEABLE AQUEOUS BINDER COMPOSITIONS
An aqueous binder composition is disclosed that includes 5.0% by weight to 50.0% by weight of a monomeric polyol having at least four hydroxyl groups, based on the total solids content of the aqueous binder composition; and at least 50.0% by weight of a cross-linking agent comprising a polymeric polycarboxylic acid having at least two carboxylic acid groups, based on the total solids content of the aqueous binder composition. The aqueous binder composition includes a ratio of molar equivalents of carboxylic acid groups to hydroxyl groups is between 0.15/1.0 and 2.23/1 and has a pH of 2.2 to 4.0 and a viscosity at 40% solids and 25° C. of 10 cP to 60 cP.
Fibers-based flexible material and process of manufacturing such a material
Disclosed is a flexible material including a web of fibers chosen in the group consisting of carbon fibers, glass fibers and aramid fibers, this web of fibers being impregnated on a so-called external face with an impregnation layer produced from a polymer binder and containing at least one plasticizing agent or a mixture of plasticizing agents. A fibrous textile substrate is superimposed on the web of fibers on an internal face of the web opposite the external face.
Toothed belt
A cord of a toothed belt is made of a twisted yarn including a band-like material. The band-like material includes a filament bundle of high-strength glass fibers integrated together through a binder. The binder contains a rubber component, at least either a maleimide-based compound or a polyisocyanate compound, and a powdery inorganic filler. A surface of a reinforcing fabric facing opposite to the toothed belt body is coated with a surface-coating rubber layer made of a rubber composition containing a rubber component including hydrogenated nitrile-butadiene rubber as a main part.
Flame Retardant Fabric and Method
The invention is a flame-retardant fabric which includes a network of interconnected yarns. At least some of the yarns comprise fiberglass fibers. At least 30 weight percent, and preferably substantially all of the fiberglass fibers in the fabric are coated with a polymer composition comprising a fiberglass binding agent. The fabric of the present invention is used as a covering in furniture, such as a flame-retardant sock to surround the core of a mattress. The invention is also a method of producing a flame-retardant fabric. A fabric of interconnected yarns is provided. At least some of the yarns comprise fiberglass fiber. Those fiberglass fibers are coated with a coating composition comprising a polymer and a fiberglass bonding agent.
Panel for forming a floor covering
