Infill For Artificial Turf System

An artificial turf system includes a turf assembly having a turf backing and stands of artificial grass blades extending from the turf backing to form an artificial turf layer. Infill material is placed in between the blades of artificial grass and on top of the turf backing. The infill material has a composition of sand in an amount within the range of from about 80 to about 98 percent of the infill by dry bulk weight, and organic particles in an amount within the range of from about 2 to about 20 percent of the infill by dry bulk weight.

A novel carpet tile is provided with a roller applied polyurethane adhesive layer at a rate of less than 45 ounces per square yard, resulting in a lightweight backing with exceptional dimensional stability.

Infill for artificial turf system

An artificial turf system includes a turf assembly having a turf backing and stands of artificial grass blades extending from the turf backing to form an artificial turf layer. Infill material is placed in between the blades of artificial grass and on top of the turf backing. The infill material has a composition of sand and organic particles. The infill material organic particles includes a plurality of wood particles where at least a portion of the wood particles define a length dimension oriented generally parallel to a grain structure of the wood particles. The length dimension is greater than a width or a thickness dimension and, in one example, may be in a range of about 0.5 mm to about 10 mm. The length dimension and one of the width or thickness dimensions may, in another example, define an aspect ratio within a range of 1:2 to 10:1.

FLOOR CARPET WITH ELECTROMAGNETIC SHIELDING

A floor carpet for an automobile comprises a first layer of polyester carpet pile, a second layer including an electromagnetic shield, the electromagnetic shield including a grid of conductive metal fibers molded into a matrix of thermoplastic material, and a third layer including a sound dampening backing made from one of wool and polyurethane, wherein, the first layer, second layer, and third layer are molded together as a unitary piece that is shaped to conform to the contour of a floor panel within an automobile and adapted to be immovably installed within the automobile, the electromagnetic shield extending across substantially all of the floor carpet to provide electromagnetic shielding across substantially the entire floor of the automobile.

FLOORING ARRANGEMENT FOR AN AIRCRAFT

A flooring arrangement for an aircraft cabin and an aircraft with the flooring arrangement. The flooring arrangement at least one insulating layer for insulating the cabin; a wire mesh disposed above the at least one insulating layer; a carpet layer disposed above the wire mesh, the carpet layer and the wire mesh being in electrically conductive contact; and at least one resistive element connected to the wire mesh, the wire mesh being structured and arranged for being electrically connected to a conductive structure of the aircraft via the at least one resistive element. The resistive element allows transmission, from the wire mesh to the conductive structure, of electrostatic charges developed on the carpet layer, and impedes transmission, from the conductive structure to the wire mesh, of high current events experienced by the aircraft.

Tile, in Particular Carpet Tile, and Covering of Such Tiles

This invention relates to tufted floorcovering articles that are washable in commercial, industrial, and/or residential washing machines. In particular, this invention relates to modular carpet tiles that are constructed in such a way as to withstand exposure to at least one wash cycle in an automatic washing machine. The carpet tiles are designed to be soiled, washed, and re-used, thereby providing ideal end-use applications such as entryway floorcovering articles. A further advantage includes the ability to print advertising logos on the carpet tiles and easily change out the advertising logos as desired. Both features of the carpet tile of the present invention are achievable, at least in part, because the surface of the tile that contacts the floor does not require any type of adhesive in order to use the carpet tile for its intended function.

SCRIM-REINFORCED CUSHION MAT FOR CARPET TILES

A carpet tile includes a textile top member and a cushion mat that is coupled with the textile top member via a thermoplastic material. The textile top member includes carpet yarns and a backing that is coupled with the carpet yarns so that the backing structurally supports the carpet yarns. The cushion mat includes a polymeric material component having polymer fibers that are randomly oriented and entangled together and a scrim reinforcement that is disposed within the polymeric material component. The scrim reinforcement reinforces and stabilizes the polymeric material component and is entirely covered and concealed by the intermeshed polymer fibers.

POLYETHYLENEIMINE COMPOUNDS CONTAINING N-HALAMINE AND DERIVATIVES THEREOF

This invention relates to odor control molecules comprised of polyethyleneimine compounds containing N-halamine and derivatives thereof.

Polyurethane Roller Coating Process for Carpet Backing

A method for preparing carpet by using polyurethane to anneal secondary backing to a greige, comprising fibers attached to a primary backing using a roller application system. The greige is conditioned prior to coating and the polyurethane coated greige is contacted with the secondary backing and the laminate is tensioned and supported to maintain the laminate structure substantially through the polyurethane curing process.
