Composite fabric comprising a bacterial biopolymer layer
Provided is a composite fabric having a base fabric and at least one bacterial biopolymer layer. The base fabric is a woven fabric, and includes warp yarns and weft yarns. At least a first plurality of warp yarns and a first plurality of weft yarns form a base layer of the base fabric. A second plurality of warp yarns and/or a second plurality of weft yarns forms an additional layer of loop portions on at least one of the sides of the base fabric. The bacterial biopolymer layer is provided at least on part of the additional layer. Further provided is a process for the production of the composite fabric and a clothing article formed of the composite fabric.
Clothing with Enhanced Response Characteristics for Laser Finishing
A fabric has enhanced response characteristics for laser finishing. The fabric can be denim for denim apparel such as jeans. Software and lasers are used to finish apparel made of the fabric to produce a desired wear or distressing pattern or other design. The fabric allows for relatively fast color change in response to the laser, color changes in hue from indigo blue to white, many grayscale levels, and maintains strength and stretch properties. A method used to make the fabric includes spinning, dyeing, and weaving yarns in such a way to obtain the desired enhanced response characteristics for laser finishing.
SULFUR DYE RANGE AND PROCESSES, AND YARNS AND FABRICS PRODUCED THEREFROM
The present invention generally relates to sulfur dyeing of fabrics. In particular, a process is provided which provides a sulfur dyed yarn having reduced dye penetration and a white core. The process involves modification of existing sulfur dye ranges in order to more efficiently and in an environmentally improved method produce dyed fabrics. The process involves modifying the immersion time, temperature, pH, and/or dye oxidation of existing sulfur dye ranges. The resulting yarns may then be woven into fabrics used to produce garments.
Reactive leuco compounds and compositions comprising the same
A leuco composition comprises at least one reactive leuco compound, which reactive leuco compound comprises a leuco moiety and at least one reactive moiety covalently bound to the leuco moiety. A laundry care composition comprises a laundry care ingredient and a leuco composition. A method of treating a textile comprises the steps of (i) treating a textile with an aqueous solution containing a leuco composition, (ii) optionally, rinsing the textile, and (iii) drying the textile.
Modified Indigo Compounds and Methods of Dyeing a Substrate Using a Modified Indigo Compound
The present disclosure provides dye compounds for use in dyeing textiles.
PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF A DYED FABRIC USING ENZYME AGGREGATES
Provided is a process for the production of a dyed fabric using enzyme aggregates. In particular, provided is a process that comprises a step of providing a woven fabric that comprises a base layer and an additional layer which is located on at least one side of the fabric, wherein the yarns of the additional layer comprise fibers that are at least partially dyed, and a step of contacting the woven fabric with enzyme aggregates such as cross-linked enzyme aggregates (CLEAs), to remove at least part of the dye from at least the yarns of said additional layer. The disclosure also provides a fabric obtained with the process and garments including the fabric.
Multispectral camouflage fabric
A multispectral camouflage fabric having a camouflage pattern containing a least a first, second, and third color. Each of the first, second, and third colors contain at least one dye and at least one of the first, second, and third colors contains carbon black. The camouflage pattern has a short wave infrared (SWIR) reflectance pattern and contains first, second, and third reflectance zones. Each reflectance zone has an upper and lower reflectance zone boundary and the difference between the upper and lower first reflectance zone boundaries is approximately 10 percentage points. The difference between the first and second zone and the second and third zone is approximately 10 percentage points. At essentially all wavelengths within the SWIR portion of the spectrum, the first color falls within the first zone boundaries, the second color falls within the second zone boundaries, and the third color falls within the third zone boundaries.
Scouring Process for Ring Dyed Denim Fabric and Material Produced Thereof
Ring dyeing of yarn with indigo dye to produce an improved white core, An outer surface of the yarn is scoured prior to applying the indigo dye, and then applying the indigo dye is applied. Scouring parameters of the dyeing are used to limit a penetration of the indigo into the white core, so that the white core has mostly sections of white yarn, and the yarn has indigo dye on the outer surface, said parameters comprising limiting scouring parameters to at least 10% below current parameters used to scour the yarn.
PROCESS FOR DYEING TEXTILES AND ENZYMES USED THEREIN
The present invention relates to a process wherein one or more dye precursors, e.g., indole, are provided to a textile and converted by one or more enzymes, e.g., an oxidizing enzyme, to provide the textile with a dye, e.g. indigo. At least the oxidizing enzyme is a hybrid enzyme including a binding domain that is suitable to bind the enzyme to the textile and/or increase the affinity of the enzyme for the textile, in particular, a cellulose binding domain (CBD).
