Described herein are compositions including O,O-diacetyl leucoindigo. Also described herein are methods of pre-dyeing fibers with O,O-diacetyl leucoindigo, followed by developing the pre-dyed fibers using hydrolysis or oxidation conditions to form indigo-dyed fibers. Also disclosed are indigo-dyed fibers, textiles, and fabrics made using O,O-diacetyl leucoindigo, wherein cellulose, polyester, polyacrylonitrile, nylon, wool, and other compositional fiber types are suitably dyed with indigo dye using the described compositions and methods.

KNITTED CONTINUOUS FILAMENT LYOCELL FABRICS

The invention relates to a knit fabric. There is a need for knit fabrics made that are comfortable to wear, have good washability and high softness. Good washability implies both dimensional stability of the fabric and maintaining positive surface aspects such as hairiness, pilling and fiber splice even after several washings. This object is solved according to the invention by a knitted fabric made from at least one yarn which consists of or contains lyocell filaments. The resulting fabric has a high wearing comfort and superior mechanical qualities.

A method for dyeing a modacrylic/cellulosic fabric includes the steps of providing a fabric comprising modacrylic fibers and cellulosic fibers. An aqueous vat dye composition comprising water and a vat dye is applied to the fabric to provide a vat dyed modacrylic/cellulosic fabric. The vat dyed modacrylic/cellulosic fabric is dried. The vat dyed modacrylic/cellulosic fabric is then contacted with a reducing agent. The vat dyed modacrylic/cellulosic fabric is then steamed to promote dye penetration into the fibers. The vat dyed modacrylic/cellulosic fabric is then washed in a first wash step with a wash composition comprising water to remove excess vat dye and reducing agent. The vat dyed modacrylic/cellulosic fabric is contacted with an oxidation oxidizing agent. The vat dyed modacrylic/cellulosic fabric is washed in a second wash step to remove excess oxidation agent.

Fabric with Enhanced Response Characteristics for Laser Finishing

A fabric has enhanced response characteristics for laser finishing. The fabric can be denim for denim apparel such as jeans. Software and lasers are used to finish apparel made of the fabric to produce a desired wear or distressing pattern or other design. The fabric allows for relatively fast color change in response to the laser, color changes in hue from indigo blue to white, many grayscale levels, and maintains strength and stretch properties. A method used to make the fabric includes spinning, dyeing, and weaving yarns in such a way to obtain the desired enhanced response characteristics for laser finishing.
