Rope and elevator using same
Provided is a rope including a load supporting member and a covering member covering an outer periphery of the load supporting member. The load supporting member includes: an impregnation material and reinforcement fiber bodies, which continuously extend in a longitudinal direction of the rope, are embedded in the impregnation material, and are configured to support a load acting in the longitudinal direction. The reinforcement fiber bodies include corrugated reinforcement fiber bodies which have, at least in part, a corrugated shape in a section parallel to the longitudinal direction. The corrugated reinforcement fiber bodies have such a length that a total length thereof given when the corrugated reinforcement fiber bodies are straightened is equal to or larger than 1.1 times a total length of the load supporting member.
TENSION MEMBER FOR AN ELEVATOR
A tension member for an elevator system has an aspect ratio of greater than one, where aspect ratio is defined as the ratio of tension member width w to thickness t (w/t). The increase in aspect ratio results in a reduction in the maximum rope pressure and an increased flexibility as compared to conventional elevator ropes. As a result, smaller sheaves may be used with this type of tension member. In a particular embodiment, the tension member includes a plurality of individual load carrying cords encased within a common layer of coating. The coating layer separates the individual cords and defines an engagement surface for engaging a traction sheave.
Pull wire with coated fibers
A method is provided for making a fiber wire having a fiber bundle core and a polymer jacket. The method includes rotating a spool of fiber bundle about a first rotational axis to progressively unwind the fiber bundle from the spool. The fiber bundle includes a plurality of continuous synthetic fiber filaments. While the spool is rotated about the first rotational axis, the spool is simultaneously rotated about a second rotational axis to thereby twist the unwound fiber bundle about its longitudinal axis. The method further includes coating the twisted fiber bundle with a molten polymer, and permitting the molten polymer to cool to define a flexible outer jacket that encapsulates the twisted fiber bundle.
Synthetic fiber rope for hoisting in an elevator
A hoisting device rope has a width larger than a thickness thereof in a transverse direction of the rope. The rope includes a load-bearing part made of a composite material, said composite material comprising non-metallic reinforcing fibers, which include carbon fiber or glass fiber, in a polymer matrix. An elevator includes a drive sheave, an elevator car and a rope system for moving the elevator car by means of the drive sheave. The rope system includes at least one rope that has a width that is larger than a thickness thereof in a transverse direction of the rope. The rope includes a load-bearing part made of a composite material. The composite material includes reinforcing fibers in a polymer matrix.
ROPE MADE OF TEXTILE FIBRE MATERIAL
The invention relates to a rope (1) made of textile fibre material, which is characterized by the combination of features whereby
a) the load-bearing fibre material of the rope (1) consists of high-strength synthetic fibres
b) the rope (1) is in the form of a spiral strand rope
c) the rope (1) has at least two, preferably at least three concentric load-bearing strand layers (3,4,5)
d) the individual strands (7,8,9,10,11,12) of the strand layers (3,4,5) are movable with respect to one another
e) the degree of filling of the rope (1) with textile fibre material is ≧75%, preferably ≧85%
f) the outermost ply (5,6) of the rope has a coefficient of frictionμ with respect to steel of μ<0.15.
ELEVATOR TENSION ELEMENT BELT WITH FLAME-RETARDANT PROPERTIES
A belt for drive systems includes: an elastic and flame-retardant belt body made from a polymeric material and at least one flame retardant additive, the belt body having a cover layer as a belt back and a substructure which has a force transmission zone; and a tension member embedded in the belt body, wherein the belt body is partially or completely provided with a coating, which coating is single- or multi-layered.
METAL COATING OF LOAD BEARING MEMBER FOR ELEVATOR SYSTEM
A belt for an elevator system includes a plurality of tension members arranged along a belt width and a jacket material at least partially encapsulating the plurality of tension members defining a traction surface, a back surface opposite the traction surface together with the traction surface defining a belt thickness, and two end surfaces extending between the traction surface and the back surface defining the belt width. A metallic coating layer is applied via deposition of solid particles over at least one end surface of the two end surfaces.
ELECTROLESS METAL COATING OF LOAD BEARING MEMBER FOR ELEVATOR SYSTEM
A belt for an elevator system includes a plurality of tension members arranged along a belt width, a jacket material at least partially encapsulating the plurality of tension members defining a traction surface, a back surface opposite the traction surface together with the traction surface defining a belt thickness, and two end surfaces extending between the traction surface and the back surface defining the belt width. A metallic coating layer applied from a liquid solution is positioned over at least one end surface of the two end surfaces.

The method includes preparing a composition comprising a polymer resin, a co-polymer of silicone, and one or more other polymeric materials. The method includes applying the composition around an elongated core. The method also includes exposing the composition to conditions that form a coating around the elongated core thereby forming the fly-fishing line. The composition is a plastisol composition and the polymer resin is a polyvinyl chloride resin. The fly fishing lines include an elongated core a coating disposed around the elongated core. The coating comprises a polymer resin, a co-polymer of silicone, and one or more other polymeric materials.
