The present invention relates to a high-strength fibre rope for hoisting equipment like cranes having a rope core (11) comprising high-strength synthetic fibres or strands (4) as well as a sheathing (2) surrounding the rope core (11) and indicating wear, wherein the sheathing (2) has at least a sheath layer, in which the synthetic fibres having different wear resistance and/or tensile strength and/or bending fatigue are interwoven with each other.
BELT WITH CORRUGATED MATERIAL
An elevator system includes a hoistway, an elevator car movable along the hoistway, and one or more belts operably connected to the elevator car to propel the elevator car along the hoistway. A belt of the one or more belts includes one or more tension elements extending along a belt length, and a jacket at least partially encapsulating the one or more tension elements. The jacket includes a jacket base formed from a first material and one or more insert layers embedded in the jacket base material. The one or more insert layers have a corrugated shape along the belt length, and are formed from a second material different from the first material.
A PIPE AND A METHOD FOR STAY CABLE PROVIDED WITH STRESSING MEANS
Present invention relates to a pipe (5) for stay cable and a method for tightening the pipe (5) using stressing means (10). The pipe (5) comprises a tubular shaped wall having an interior and an exterior surface, wherein stressing means (10) are provided to the exterior surface of the tubular shaped wall of the pipe (5), wherein the stressing means (10) are configured in a way to exert a compression force around the tubular shape wall of the pipe (5) longitudinally.
Distributed control system for thermal snow melt and freeze protection systems
A snow and ice melt system having one or more zones, each including one or more heaters, and having one or more controllers configured to use a power output of each heater and an average temperature of each zone to determine operational control of each heater to achieve a specified result. Hydronic or resistive heaters could be used. The controllers may be configured to use a system temperature response over time to determine if a phase change of the snow or ice is occurring. The phase change might indicate that snow or ice is present on a zone and is melting. Use of a first derivative of the system temperature response over time might determine a percentage of a zone covered by snow or ice. Use of a second derivative of the system temperature response over time might determine whether melting is complete.
ELEVATOR LOAD BEARING MEMBER HAVING A JACKET INCLUDING A FLUOROPOLYMER
An illustrative example embodiment of an elevator load bearing member includes a plurality of load bearing cords and a jacket at least partially surrounding the cords. The jacket includes an inner portion received on the cords and a fluoropolymer outer portion that establishes a fire-resistant exterior of the jacket.
Rope, rope arrangement and hoisting device
A belt-shaped rope of a hoisting device, the rope being substantially larger in its width-direction than thickness-direction, and comprising two or more load bearing members; a coating forming an outer surface of the rope, in which coating the two or more load bearing members are embedded, wherein the two or more load bearing members are oriented to extend parallel with longitudinal direction of the rope adjacent each other in width direction of the rope such that a gap is formed in width direction between load bearing members next to each other, the coating extending into the gap. The coating comprises a first coating portion between load bearing members next to each other, and a second coating portion forming an outer side of the rope facing in thickness direction of the rope, and in that the material of the first coating portion is substantially harder than the material of the second coating portion.
Apparatus for recognizing the replacement state of a high-strength fiber rope for lifting gear
The present invention relates to an apparatus for recognizing the replacement state of a high-strength fiber rope for lifting gear such as cranes as well as to a lifting gear such as a crane in which such a high-strength fiber rope is installed. It is the underlying object of the present invention to provide an improved apparatus for determining the replacement state of a high-strength fiber rope and to provide improved lifting gear having such a fiber rope that avoid the disadvantages of the prior art and further develop the latter in an advantageous manner. To be able to more easily determine the respective degree of damage of the jacket and thus the closeness to the imminent replacement state of the rope, the apparatus is provided with a reference damage memory in which reference representations of the rope with different degrees of damage to the jacket of the rope are contained to allow for an optical comparison of an actual image of the rope with the stored reference representations and thus, determination of the replacement state.
DOUBLE-SHEATHED STRUCTURAL CABLE
The structural cable comprises a bundle of load-bearing tendons extending between upper and lower anchoring devices, a first sheath containing the bundle of tendons, and a second sheath arranged around the first sheath, with a gap between the first and second sheaths.
High-strength fibre rope for hoisting equipment such as cranes
A high-strength fibre rope (1) comprising a rope core as well as a sheathing indicating optical wear, wherein the sheathing comprises a sheath layer (2) made up of textile subunits (3, 4) of a first hierarchy level. An outermost sheath layer (2) is provided, wherein textile subunits (3, 4) of said outermost sheath layer of the first hierarchy level differ from each other in terms of their textile structure, and/or an outermost sheath layer and a further sheath layer underneath said outermost sheath layer are provided, and wherein the textile subunits of the first hierarchy level of said outermost sheath layer differ in their textile structure from that of said further sheath layer. The textile subunits of a lowermost hierarchy level of the rope are neither dispersed in a resin matrix in the outermost sheath layer nor in the further sheath layer arranged underneath the outermost sheath layer.
