STEEL CORD WITH A BRASS COATING ENRICHED WITH IRON PARTICLES
A steel cord that is suitable for reinforcing rubber articles such as tires. The inventive steel cord enables to completely eliminate the presence of cobalt in a tire when combined with the proper cobalt free compound. Advantageously the steel cord adheres equally well to rubbers containing organic cobalt salts. The inventive wire is different from prior art steel cords in that the brass coating now comprises iron particles. The iron particles have a size between 10 nm and 10 000 nm. The presence of iron mitigates the adhesion retention loss of the rubber to steel cord bond in a hot and humid environment. It is a further advantage that the inventive steel cord does not contain any intentionally added cobalt thereby contributing to the elimination of harmful substances in the production area as well as the environment.
A STEEL CORD FOR RUBBER REINFORCEMENT
A steel cord with a construction of m+n having a first group of core filaments having a number of m and a second group of sheath filaments having a number of n, the second group and the first group are twisted around each other with the same twist pitch and same twist direction, wherein the core filaments are not twisted with each other, the core filaments are parallel or have a twist pitch being more than 300 mm, and the sheath filaments have a twist pitch being less than or equal to 30mm, the core filaments have an average tensile strength Tc in MPa when being un-ravelled from said steel cord, the sheath filaments have an average tensile strength Ts in MPa when being un-ravelled from said steel cord, Tc and Ts satisfy: 5<(Tc-Ts)<200. The steel cord has high breaking load and high production efficiency without cost increase.
Steel cord
The invention provides a steel cord for rubber reinforcement. The steel cord comprises a core strand and at least three outer strands twisted around the core strand, the core strand comprises at least one first core filament and multiple first outer filaments twisted around the first core filament, each outer strand comprises a number of second filaments, at least one of multiple first outer filaments is preformed prior to being twisted into the core strand, and at least one of second steel filaments is straight prior to being twisted to form each outer strand. The steel cord has improved performance on core filament migration.
A STEEL CORD FOR RUBBER REINFORCEMENT
The invention provides a steel cord with a construction of n×1, n is the number of the steel filaments of the steel cord, the steel cord has an elongation at 2.5N-50N of less than 1.2% and a twist pitch of greater than 16 mm, each of the steel filaments has a form of helical wave with a wave length L expressed in mm and a wave height H expressed in mm when being unravelled from said steel cord, L is greater than 16 mm, each of the steel filaments has a space volume Vs satisfying that, Vs=L×H.sup.2×π/4, and Vs>20 mm.sup.3. The invention steel cord is beneficial for the stress distribution.
Aircraft fuselage and structural cable for aircraft fuselage
A wide body aircraft is discussed having a fuselage with a first structural element, a second structural element, a wide-body fuselage section, and a plurality of tension members. Each of the first structural element and the second structural element may be arranged to traverse a longitudinal length of the wide-body fuselage section. The wide-body fuselage section may comprise a set of side-by-side fuselage subassemblies, where the set of side-by-side fuselage subassemblies can be coupled to one another via the first structural element and the second structural element. The plurality of tension members can be arranged to manage tension between the first structural element and the second structural element. The plurality of tension members can be configured to remain flexible under a compression load, while managing tension therebetween.
