WARP-KNITTED ELASTIC PERFORATED FABRIC AND ELASTIC PERFORATED COMPRESSION BANDAGE
20200206037 · 2020-07-02 ·

Two-sided warp-knitted fabrics having perforations possessing elastic qualities are usable in the medical industry for making warming products such as belts, bands, and compression bandages. A fabric includes, in its warp, wales having a closed-chain weave made of synthetic threads with elastomeric threads disposed inside of the wales, and, in its weft, thread systems made of a wool yarn or a yarn including wool, and, for a bandage, thread systems made of a natural yarn and/or an artificial yarn and/or a synthetic yarn. One system forms the front side and the other forms the back side of the fabric. The fabric has sections with weft threads missing in the courses of the fabric, and in the place of the weft threads are perforations, the minimal width of each perforation being equal to the distance between wales. A breathable fabric is produced suitable for making the aforementioned medical products.

Cut resistant rope

A rope having a core for providing strength to the rope, where at least a metal or composite woven or warp knitted fabric having multiple substantially parallel elongated metal elements is provided around the core for protecting said core from impact and cutting, and where the multiple substantially parallel elongated elements are in the warp direction and held by yarns.

STRETCHABLE WIRE TAPE FOR TEXTILE, WEARABLE DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING TEXTILE HAVING WIRES
20200157713 · 2020-05-21 ·

Provided are a stretchable wire tape for a textile that can maintain high levels in all of stretchability, electrical conductivity, durability, an insulating property, and design and can also have a reduced production cost, wearable devices, and a method for producing textiles having wires. The stretchable wire tape for the textile includes a stretchable electrically conductive wire, and stretchable insulating films each including a first face and a second face opposite to the first face, the stretchable insulating films being bonded to opposite sides of the stretchable electrically conductive wire on their first faces. Since the stretchable insulating films are bonded to the opposite sides of the stretchable electrically conductive wire via bonding layers, durability and an insulating property can be secured while stretchability and electrical conductivity of the electrically conductive wire can be maintained, and design can also be improved.

The disclosure describes implantable bioprosthesis and constructs having an implantable woven ribbon with at least one integrated suture.

SELF-WRAPPING, BRAIDED TEXTILE SLEEVE WITH SELF-SUSTAINING EXPANDED AND CONTRACTED STATES AND METHOD OF CONSTRUCTION THEREOF
20200131681 · 2020-04-30 ·

A self-wrapping protective textile sleeve and method of construction is provided. The sleeve includes a braided, tubular wall having opposite free edges extending lengthwise between opposite ends. The wall has a first state with a decreased length, increased cross-sectional area and a second state with an increased length, decreased cross-sectional area, as viewed in cross-section taken generally transversely to a central longitudinal axis. The wall further includes braided, heat-set yarns imparting a bias on the wall, wherein the bias causes the wall to self-wrap into a tubular configuration and to remain substantially in the first and second states absent some externally applied force.

Methods of manufacturing mesh sutures from poly-4-hydroxybutyrate and copolymers thereof

Resorbable multifilament yarns and monofilament fibers including poly-4-hydroxybutyrate and copolymers thereof with high tenacity or high tensile strength have been developed. The yarns and fibers are produced by cold drawing the multifilament yarns and monofilament fibers before hot drawing the yarns and fibers under tension at temperatures above the melt temperature of the polymer or copolymer. These yarns and fibers have prolonged strength retention in vivo making them suitable for soft tissue repairs where high strength and strength retention is required. The multifilament yarns have tenacities higher than 8.1 grams per denier, and in vivo, retain at least 65% of their initial strength at 2 weeks. The monofilament fibers retain at least 50% of their initial strength at 4 weeks in vivo. The monofilament fibers have tensile strengths higher than 500 MPa. These yarns and fibers may be used to make various medical devices for various applications, including mesh sutures.

Composite Membrane and Method for Manufacturing Such a Membrane

The present invention relates to a composite membrane (10) comprising a fibrous fabric (1) of nanofibres (11), wherein the thickness of the fabric (1) is between 10 nm and 50 m and said fabric is impregnated with a wetting liquid (A). According to the invention, the composite membrane is immersed in a second fluid (B) which is immiscible with the wetting liquid (A), forming an A/B interface between the wetting liquid (A) and the immiscible fluid (B), and the composite membrane is capable of remaining tensioned when it is compressed from its resting state until reaching dimensions corresponding to 5% of its dimensions in the resting state, and when it is stretched from its compressed state until reaching dimensions corresponding to 2000% of the length in the compressed state. The present invention also relates to a process for manufacturing such a membrane.
