Composition and kits for inhibition of pathogenic microbial infection and methods of using the same
Antimicrobial polymer coating formulations are prepared that protect biological surfaces by treating, reducing, ameliorating, preventing or inhibiting pathogenic microorganism ingress to a human or animal host, reducing the potential for infection, particularly by necrotizing fasciitis originating microorganisms, through use of a polymer coating barrier containing antimicrobial agents that facilitates sustained release of biocidal agents active against such opportunistic microorganisms. Such formulations are effective for inhibiting microbial ingress pertaining to soft tissue and skin tears, abrasions, punctures and surgical wounds, and can be used as in water environments and as a skin protectant sunscreen and insect repellent.
Topical roflumilast formulation having improved delivery and plasma half life
The present invention is directed to methods for improving the therapeutic outcome of treatment with roflumilast. The therapeutic outcome is improved by consistent delivery and/or a longer plasma half-life of a topically administered roflumilast composition. The roflumilast composition preferably includes dicetyl phosphate, ceteth-10 phosphate, diethylene glycol monoethyl ether, and/or hexylene glycol.
Aqueous antimicrobial film-forming composition for teat treatment by spray application
The present invention is directed to a sprayable aqueous antimicrobial film-forming composition comprising in an aqueous base: (a) a film-forming polymer; (b) an antimicrobial agent; (c) a hydrophobically-modified ethoxylated urethane as rheology modifier; (d) optionally, an anti-foaming agent. Further, the present invention refers to the use of the composition for controlling mastitis in milk producing animals and a method for controlling mastitis in milk producing animals comprising applying by spraying the composition to a teat.
Vaginal Hydrogel for Delivery of Therapeutics
The composition is a hydrogel which may be used to deliver therapeutics vaginally. The hydrogel may include a glycosaminoglycan. The glycosaminoglycan may include multiple thiol groups. The composition may also include a molecule that includes at least two thiol reactive sites. The composition may include a mucoadhesive agent as well as a therapeutic agent. The composition may deliver the therapeutic at a pH that is optimal for the vaginal environment, namely between about 3.5 and 5.0.
THERAPEUTIC COMPOSITION FOR ENDOMETRIOSIS SURGERY AND METHOD FOR USING THE SAME
The present invention provides a therapeutic composition for administering during a surgery, especially an endometriosis surgery, comprising at least an active ingredient and an excipient, wherein the active ingredient comprises an antioxidant agent and the excipient comprises a semi-solid barrier. The present invention provides also a method for using such a therapeutic composition during a surgery.
TRANSPORE DELIVERY OF CANNABINOID AND USES THEREOF
The invention relates to novel cannabinoid pharmaceutical compositions and methods for transpore delivery of cannabinoid to a subject for treating a disease or for recreational use.
LIPID DEPOT FORMULATIONS
The present invention relates to pre-formulations comprising low viscosity, non-liquid crystalline, mixtures of: a) at least one neutral diacyl lipid and/or at least one tocopherol; b) at least one phospholipid; c) at least one biocompatible, oxygen containing, low viscosity organic solvent;
wherein at least one bioactive agent is dissolved or dispersed in the low viscosity mixture and wherein the pre-formulation forms, or is capable of forming, at least one liquid crystalline phase structure upon contact with an aqueous fluid. The preformulations are suitable for generating parenteral, non-parenteral and topical depot compositions for sustained release of active agents. The invention additionally relates to a method of delivery of an active agent comprising administration of a preformulation of the invention, a method of treatment comprising administration of a preformulation of the invention and the use of a preformulation of the invention in a method for the manufacture of a medicament.
Lyophilized platelet lysates
The present disclosure is drawn to compositions and methods of making and using lyophilized platelet lysates. Specifically, a method of preparing a composition suitable for therapeutic use or as a culture medium can comprise steps of concentrating platelets from a platelet source to form a platelet rich portion of the platelet source, and lysing the platelets in the platelet rich portion to form a plurality of lysates. An additional step includes lyophilizing the lysates to form lyophilized platelet lysates in a composition with released concentrations of available growth factors, cytokines, and chemokines. In one example, at 30%, by platelet count, of platelets from a platelet source can be lysed using this process.
