BIOCOMPATIBLE HYDROGEL TREATMENTS FOR RETINAL DETACHMENT
Provided herein are in vivo gelling ophthalmic pre-formulations forming a biocompatible retinal patch comprising at least one nucleophilic compound or monomer unit, at least one electrophilic compound or monomer unit, and optionally a therapeutic agent and/or viscosity enhancer. In some embodiments, the retinal patch at least partially adheres to the site of a retinal tear. Also provided herein are methods of treating retinal detachment by delivering an in vivo gelling ophthalmic pre-formulation to the site of a retinal tear in human eye, wherein the in vivo gelling ophthalmic pre-formulation forms a retinal patch.
Herbal compositions and methods for the prevention and treatment of plant of nail infections
It is disclosed a pharmaceutical and/or phytosanitary composition comprising an aqueous extract of Chelidonium majus root and an acceptable pharmaceutical or phytosanitary excipient, for the prevention or treatment of plant infections and/or for the prevention or treatment of nail 5 infections. The composition may further comprise an aqueous extract of Thuja occidentalis leaf; and from about 1 to 5% of at least one natural phenolic compound. The composition is efficient in the treatment of plant infection (mildew fungus, blight fungus, etc); the treatment of intumescence of a plant; the treatment of potatoes (powdery or common scab, Rhizoctonia, etc), and also allows a higher crop yield: without the use of a chemical fungicide. The composition also allows rapid treatment of fungus infection of nails.
PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION FOR USE IN INCREASING HAIR, MODIFYING SCALP OR SKIN, HEALING A WOUND, PROMOTING OSTEOGENESIS, OR MODIFYING HAIR
The present invention provides a pharmaceutical composition for use in increasing hair, modifying scalp or skin, healing a wound, promoting osteogenesis or modifying hair, the pharmaceutical composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a saturated fatty acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient.
Nanoparticles in thermoreversible gels for enhanced therapeutics
The present invention provides a sustained drug delivery system for the treatment of age-related macular degeneration (AMD), comprising corticosteroid encapsulated nanoparticles incorporated into a thermoreversible hydrogel. The corticosteroid may be triamcinolone acetate (TA), dexamethasone, or loteprednol etabonate (LE). The proposed drug delivery system is nontoxic to ARPE-19 (retinal pigment epithelium) cells and significantly reduces VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) expression as compared to solutions of the coticosteroids. The present invention provides sustained delivery of the corticosteroid to the posterior segment of the eye, reducing the frequency of intraocular injections necessary to maintain therapeutic concentrations.
STABLE INJECTABLE PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION OF NEUROKININ 1 RECEPTOR ANTAGONIST AND PROCESS FOR PREPARATION THEREOF
The present invention relates to a controlled release sterile injectable formulation in the form of solution, suspension or sol-gel formulation for intramuscular or subcutaneous administration comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a neurokinin 1 receptor antagonist, in particular Aprepitant or Fosaprepitant or pharmaceutical acceptable salt, derivative or metabolite thereof. It also relates to a process for developing such formulations.
COLOURED KERATOLYTIC NAIL LACQUER
The present invention provides a liquid nail lacquer composition comprising a pharmaceutically active compound and an aqueous polymer dispersion, wherein said liquid nail lacquer composition forms a film upon drying under standard ambient temperature and pressure; a method for providing the same; and a container comprising said liquid nail lacquer composition.
REMOVABLE FILM FORMING GEL COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR THEIR APPLICATION
Film forming gel compositions, useful in creating conformable and flexible gel bandages, can be formulate from a film forming polymer, a tackifier, and a volatile solvent. The film forming gels can also include antiseptics, cationic polymer coagulants, fillers, and other additives. The gel compositions form relatively thick films when dried on tissue, and can exhibit enhanced breathability to promote wound healing.
NANOTECHNOLOGY-BASED HEMOSTATIC DRESSINGS
Hemostatic compositions including a combination of more than one hemostatic agent, and devices coated or impregnated therewith, have been developed. Nanotechnology yields hemostatic agents with large surface areas thereof, thereby increasing the hemostatic properties of the device to which they are applied. By combining more than one hemostatic agent and utilizing one or more different nanotechnology approaches to enhance the surface areas thereof, the capability of the dressing to stop bleeding is improved via more than one mechanism, and thus provides better hemostasis.
OXYBUTYNIN-XANOMELINE TRANSDERMAL THERAPEUTIC SYSTEM COMBINATIONS
Transdermal therapeutic system and method of using the same for safely treating hypocholinergic disorders of the central nervous system such as Alzheimer type dementia. The transdermal therapeutic system comprises oxybutynin in combination with a cholinergic receptor agonist (CRA) such as xanomeline.
THIN FILM WITH NON-SELF-AGGREGATING UNIFORM HETEROGENEITY AND DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEMS MADE THEREFROM
The invention relates to the film products and methods of their preparation that demonstrate a non-self-aggregating uniform heterogeneity. Desirably the films disintegrate in water and may be formed by a controlled drying process, or other process that maintains the required uniformity of the film.
