APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PROCESSING WOOD FIBERS
20190203418 · 2019-07-04 ·

A refining member comprising a refining body with a refining surface comprising first and second refiner bars separated by first and second refiner grooves, respectively. The first refiner bars extend from a radially inward position to a first radially outward position. The second refiner bars extend to a second radially outward position that is nearer to an outermost part of the refining body than the first radially outward position. The second refiner bars have a longitudinal length from about 0.6 cm to about 10 cm. The first and second refiner bars have a respective first and second maximum height extending upward from a floor of a respective, adjacent first or second refiner groove. The second maximum height is at least 0.35 mm less than the first maximum height. The first refiner bars are adapted to refine wood fibers and the second refiner bars are adapted to break up fiber bundles.

Steam Evacuation in a Pulp or Fiber Refiner

A refining disc (6) in a defibrator (1) for refining fibrous material is provided with non-central openings (11) for allowing steam developed in the refining space (2) during refining to flow from the front side to the backside of the refining disc (6), where the front side is facing a second refining disc (5) and the backside is facing away from the second refining disc (5). The refining disc (6) also comprises a central hole (12) for allowing steam (8b) to flow from the backside to the front side at the rotational center of the refining disc (6), and escape from the defibrator (1) backwards through the feed screw (3a) without passing through the fibrous material (7) being refined in the refining space (2).

Apparatus and method for processing wood fibers

A refining member for a pulp refiner comprising a refining body with a refining surface comprising refiner bars separated by refiner grooves and teeth. Each of the refiner bars extend from a radially inward position on the refining surface to a first radially outward position on the refining surface, and the teeth extend to a second radially outward position on the refining surface. The second radially outward position is nearer to an outermost part of the refining body than the first radially outward position. The refiner bars are adapted to refine wood fibers, and the teeth are adapted to break up fiber bundles.

A deflaker plate for a deflaker machine may include a substrate and a plurality of teeth extending from the substrate, wherein a specified number of teeth of the plurality of teeth have a serrated face.

Device for mechanically processing lignocellulose-containing fibrous material

A processing plate (4, 12) for mechanically processing pulp. The plate has projecting parts (6, 7, 14, 15). The projecting parts (7, 15) have a radially inner part (28) having an inclined ascending wall (29) towards the outer periphery (23) of the plate and a radially outer part (30) having an inclined descending wall (31) towards the outer periphery (23) of the plate (4, 12). The inner and outer parts (28, 30) are radially coupled to each other by a ridge (32) along a coupling line (CL). The walls (29, 31) are mutually connected only partly so that they have in common only a crest section (40) of the ridge (32) which crest section (40) is less than a width of at least one of the wall (29) of the inner part (28) and the wall (31) of the outer part (30) at the coupling line (CL).

The first and second refiner bars have a respective first and second height extending upward from a floor of a respective, adjacent first or second refiner groove. The second height is a minimum height of the second refiner bars and is spaced apart from the second radially inward position, with the second height being at least about 0.35 mm less than the first height. The first refiner bars are adapted to refine wood fibers and the second refiner bars are adapted to break up fiber bundles.

DISPERSER PLATES WITH INTERMESHING TEETH AND OUTER REFINING SECTION
20190301097 · 2019-10-03 ·

A disperser-refiner plate segment comprising a refining section disposed radially outward from a dispersion section, wherein a height of the teeth in the dispersion section exceeds a height of the bars in the refining section. It is believed that disperser-refiner plate segments as described herein will allow operators to combine dispersion with refining and give operators greater control over the level of dispersion while minimally affecting the level of refining.
