FILLING SYSTEM FOR A TEXTURED BEVERAGE
20180338509 · 2018-11-29 · ·

A process for packaging pressurized beverages. The process includes mixing liquid, a solute that depresses the freezing point of the liquid, and gas. Next, the liquid-gas mixture is allowed to rest. Then, retail containers are filled with the mixture. During the mixing and filling steps of the process, the liquid-gas mixture is subjected to pressures that are higher than atmospheric pressure. Unfortunately, such pressure cannot be maintained when the container is transferred from the filling station to the sealing station causing dissolved gas to leave the liquid and foam to overflow the container during the transfer. To prevent such an overflow, prior to the transfer, the dissolved gas is put to sleep by reducing the temperature of the liquid to below 0 C. (32 F.) and optionally allowing the liquid-gas mixture to rest. The liquid beverage may include milk, coffee, tea, fruit juice, chocolate or mixtures thereof, and may include a gum.

PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF LACTOSE-FREE AND REDUCED PHOSPHORUS SKIM MILK
20180000104 · 2018-01-04 ·

A method of preparing a low calorie, Lactose-free and Phosphorus-reduced milk with multiple filtration, centrifugation, carbonation and phase separation steps to remove Lactose and Phosphorus from milk including skim milk. The method includes a filtration apparatus to employ ultrafiltration to remove Lactose and any component of Lactose. Ultra-Centrifugation is used additionally to increase and complete the removal of Lactose and to facilitate the reduction of Phosphorous in the final milk preparation. The process eliminates the conventional use of lactase enzyme to hydrolyze Lactose into its simple sugar components.

FORTIFIED MILK COMPOSITIONS AND THEIR PROCESSES OF PREPARATION

The present invention provides a novel process for preparing fortified milk compositions from whole mammalian milk. The process of the present invention generally involves converting dried mammalian milk into a fats-enriched fraction, a protein-enriched fraction, and a carbohydrate-enriched fraction. The process comprises treating the dried milk with a fats extracting agent to provide a fats-enriched fraction, and a residual fraction comprising proteins and carbohydrates; separating said fats-enriched fraction from the residual fraction; and removing the fats extracting agent from the separated fats-enriched fraction to produce a dry fraction of oily, fats-enriched material and a fraction enriched in proteins and carbohydrates.

Phase change pressurizing packing apparatus and method of manufacture / use thereof

The invention comprises a method and apparatus for packaging a dispensable substance, including the steps of: placing a first product component into a container; adding a second product component into the container at an initial pressure of less than 1.31 atm, the container comprising a valve dispensing port; sealing the container; and increasing pressure in the container through a phase change of the second product component to a final pressure in the container, the final pressure at least 0.26 atm greater than the initial pressure. Optionally, the second product component warms in the container at least ten degrees Celsius and undergoes a phase change from a solid or liquid to a gas, which increases pressure in the container and functions as a propellant and/or as an expansion agent.
