Airlaid composite sheet material
Provided is a composite sheet that is particularly useful as an AQDL component in absorbent articles. The composite sheet includes a fluid acquisition component and an airlaid component. The airlaid component may include one or more airlaid layers that are successively formed overlying each other. Each of the airlaid layers are adjacent to, and in direct contact with, immediately adjacent layers of the airlaid component so that adjacent layers are in fluid communication with respect to each other. The fluid acquisition component includes a nonwoven fabric comprising a carded nonwoven fabric comprised of a plurality of staple fibers that are air through bonded to each other to form a coherent nonwoven fabric. The airlaid layer(s) include a blend of cellulose and non-cellulose staple fibers. The staple fibers may be bicomponent fibers having a polyethyelene sheath and a polypropylene or polyethylene terephthalate core, and mixtures of such fibers.
FLAME-RESISTANT NONWOVEN FIBER ASSEMBLY
A nonwoven fiber assembly. The nonwoven fiber assembly includes a nonwoven fibrous web including a plurality of discontinuous fibers; and a nonwoven fabric at least partially surrounding the nonwoven fibrous web; the nonwoven fabric including a plurality of randomly-oriented fibers, the plurality of randomly-oriented fibers comprising: at least 60 wt % of oxidized polyacrylonitrile fibers; and from 0 to less than 40 wt % of reinforcing fibers having an outer surface comprised of a (co)polymer with a melting temperature of from 100° C. to 450° C.; and a fluoropolymer binder on the plurality of randomly-oriented fibers.
HIGH TEMPERATURE TREATED MEDIA
A thermally bonded filtration media that can be used in high temperature conditions in the absence of any loss of fiber through thermal effects or mechanical impact on the fiber components is disclosed. The filter media can be manufactured and used in a filter unit or structure, can be placed in a stream of removable fluid, and can remove a particulate load from the mobile stream at an increased temperature range. The combination of bi-component fiber, other filter media fiber, and other filtration additives provides an improved filtration media having unique properties in high temperature, high performance applications.
Textile substrate made of reinforcement fibers
A textile substrate made from reinforcing fibers for the production of composite-material preforms, Including an unidirectional composite consisting of at least one flat layer of multifilament reinforcing yarns arranged alongside and parallel to one another and joined by transverse threads, whereby a nonwoven of thermoplastic polymer material is arranged on the at least one flat layer of multifilament reinforcing yarns and is adhesively bonded to the flat layer of multifilament reinforcing yarns. The textile substrate wherein the transverse threads have a core/sheath structure with a first component forming the sheath and a second component forming the core, wherein the first component has a lower melting point than the second component, the first component is a fusible thermoplastic polymer material and the multifilament reinforcing yarns arranged alongside one another are joined together via the first component of the transverse threads by meltbonding.
Fibrous elements comprising fast ettnig surfactants and methods for making same
Fibrous elements, such as filaments and/or fibers, and more particularly to fibrous elements that contain a fast wetting surfactant, fibrous structures made therefrom, and methods for making same are provided.
HEARTWOOD FOR SANDWICH PANEL, SANDWICH PANEL, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SANDWICH PANEL
Provided is heartwood for a sandwich panel, comprising: a first polyester-based fiber which is a monocomponent fiber; and a second polyester-based fiber which is a sheath-core type bicomponent fiber. Also provided is a sandwich panel comprising: heartwood derived from the heartwood for a sandwich panel; and a surface material disposed on the sides of the heartwood. Further provided is a method for producing the sandwich panel, comprising: a step of mixing the first polyester-based fiber which is a monocomponent fiber and the second polyester-based fiber which is a sheath-core type bicomponent fiber; a step of producing the heartwood from the mixed fibers by a dry production process; and a step of heating and pressuring the heartwood.
FUNCTIONAL NONWOVEN SCRIM FOR HIGH TEMPERATURE APPLICATIONS REQUIRING LOW FLAMMABILITY, SMOKE, AND TOXICITY
A nonwoven composite for high temperature applications requiring Sow flammability, smoke, and/or toxicity, including a fibrous structure having one or more nonwoven material layers including a scrim layer. The scrim is formed from inorganic fibers, at least some of which are adapted to withstand temperatures of up to about 1150° C. The scrim is formed from a wet-laying process. The composite further comprises one or more fiber matrix layers.
THREE-DIMENSIONAL FOAM-LAID NONWOVENS
A high topography nonwoven substrate includes synthetic binder fibers; a planar base layer having an X-Y surface and a backside surface opposite the X-Y surface; and a plurality of projection elements integral with and protruding in a Z-direction from the X-Y surface, wherein each projection element has a height, a diameter or width, a cross-section, a sidewall, a proximal end where the projection element meets the base layer, and a distal end opposite the proximal end, wherein the projection elements are distributed in both the X- and Y-directions, and wherein the density of a projection element is the same as the density of the base layer.
